Han Li is now well known throughout the celestial southern realm of cultivation, renowned by all. After a moment of surprise, the cultivator said, "If it is Master Han's honor, there would be no need for formal introduction. Master Zhiyang had already instructed that upon Master's arrival, passage would be granted immediately. I shall then escort Master to Linggu Island." The dressed lady spoke with respectful diligence, showing no hesitation or delay... Han Li nodded, said nothing further, his expression composed. The lady then gave a few instructions to the cultivator behind her and led Han Li off into the distance. Gradually, the distant black dot grew larger, revealing indeed a modest island, roughly twenty to thirty square kilometers in size. "Master Han, this is Lingfeng Island, which belongs to our Huhuan Sect. The Linggu Island, home of the Taizhen Sect, lies just beyond, adjacent to it," the lady explained, as if aware that Han Li was visiting for the first time. Han Li glanced in the direction she indicated, but due to the distance, he had not yet spotted the other island.
Yet in the other direction, the extraordinary fluctuations of spiritual energy at that vast spiritual source became even more distinct. The strength of the spiritual energy was so remarkable that it must indeed be the vortex renowned for spewing out vast amounts of spiritual energy. While pondering this, Han Li continued to follow the dressed woman, flying steadily toward the distant area. It was already one hour later when they reached the island known as the Spirit Tortoise Isle. This island was slightly larger than the Spirit Phoenix Isle previously occupied by the Héhuān Sect, and from a distance, its outline truly resembled that of a tortoise. Having sent an earlier transmission to Han Li and the other as they approached the island, the dressed woman had already dispatched a beam of white light to meet them upon arrival. "Is it Master Zhiyang? It is truly an honor to have you personally come to greet us," Han Li said, pausing and transmitting his voice at a distance. "Ah, Master Han is indeed a man of his word. Naturally, I should have come to welcome you personally," replied Master Zhiyang, who smiled warmly upon seeing Han Li's evident delight.
Then a beam of white light flew out to about ten zhang in front of Han Li, its radiance subsiding to reveal the Daoist's form. Han Li smiled slightly and bowed respectfully to his counterpart. "My good friend, let us first meet at my abode. I have already informed Wei Wuyi. As for Hehuang, the old monster, he has urgent matters to attend to and thus cannot make it here." The celestial master instructed the dressed lady to return first, then turned to Han Li with a warm smile. "That sounds good—let us follow your suggestion." Han Li showed no hesitation, and the two immediately took off toward the island. On the way, Han Li used his divine awareness to scan the entire island, and involuntarily his brow furrowed slightly. Indeed, there was a remarkably fine small spiritual vein on the island, about ten li in size. Though the number of cultivators on the island was not large, each one appeared to be of exceptionally high attainment—unlike Han Li's expectations, where he had anticipated finding more junior cultivators. This gave him a certain sense of curiosity. Not long afterward, under the Daoist's guidance, Han Li entered a recently established abode on the island
This abode lies nestled within an unremarkable stone mountain, yet it is both vast and well-kept. Upon reaching the main hall with Zhiyang Monks, Han Li and the elder sat down together. Two monks automatically served them spiritual tea. After sipping a cup, Han Li began to chat casually with Zhiyang Monks. This elder, one of the three senior cultivators, seemed unwilling to disclose the reason for his invitation at this moment, instead calmly introducing Han Li to the current conditions of the surrounding sea region and the various sects that hold dominion over the Seven Spirit Island. He appeared almost detached, observing the scene with a composed air. It seemed that prior to Wei Wuyi's arrival, he had deliberately withheld even the slightest hint of information from Han Li. Han Li felt a touch of displeasure, yet on his face he maintained a composed air of ignorance, engaging in seemingly casual conversation with Zhiyang Monks.
Yet just within the span of a meal, Wei Wuya had likewise arrived outside the abode, and then, under the welcome of the Taoist, his figure appeared in the grand hall. Upon meeting Han Li, there was naturally a series of formalities. On the surface, Wei Wuya appeared with skin like crystal and a rosy complexion, as though fully restored from the great depletion he suffered in the battle at the Valley of the Fallen Demon, radiating an unusually vibrant vitality. This left Han Li quietly amazed. As he knew, during the previous battle at the Valley of the Fallen Demon, Wei’s true energy had been severely depleted—far beyond mere minor losses. To have fully recovered so swiftly within such a short time suggested that he had consumed a considerable number of potent elixirs and remedies. Wei Wuya himself was equally efficient. As soon as he settled into his seat, he promptly asked, “Brother Zhiyang, have you already shared the details with Han Daojun?” “Not at all. Matters of this nature are best discussed when two of us are present. Since Brother Wei has arrived, why not let Brother Wei recount the situation to Han Daojun?”
"I'll just supplement from the side," said Master Zhiyang calmly. "Very well, I can take it over! This matter must not be delayed any longer. Otherwise, the consequences will be serious!" After a brief thought, Wei Wuya readily agreed. "Serious consequences?" Hearing these words, Han Li's expression brightened with interest. It seems this indeed isn't a minor matter. "Friend Han, I'll keep my remarks concise. To be honest, this affair is closely tied to that ancient demon." Wei Wuya's opening words were surprisingly direct, startling Han Li. "Didn't that ancient demon suffer a severe wound and flee far away?" Han Li asked, momentarily stunned. "That's true. Yet, don't you find it rather remarkable that the great vortex appeared at such a convenient moment? Almost immediately after we drove the ancient demon away, this unusual phenomenon emerged right here in the boundless sea. Moreover, we've found solid evidence right around the vortex."
Friend Han should know that during the final period when the ancient demon was finally surrounded and defeated, it had slaughtered numerous immortal families and small sects across the region. Later, our three of us discovered that these very families and sects were precisely those known to possess magical artifacts—or rumored to have such relics—and indeed, three such artifacts were captured by the ancient demon. At a hidden location near this great vortex, we found the remains of one of the missing artifacts, seemingly destroyed directly by immense power. Thus, we suspect that the ancient demon first came to Wufeng Sea, where it carried out some hidden maneuvers, before being ultimately trapped and severely wounded by our Demon-Defeating Unit at other sites, forcing it to flee southward. Wei Wuyi said this seriously. "Is there something amiss with this unexpectedly appearing vortex? Otherwise, if the ancient demon had indeed made any preparations, wouldn't the three of you have taken such a serious and deliberate approach?" Han Lin pondered, asking cautiously. "Friend Han has indeed asked the right question."
If this vortex merely expelled spiritual energy and lifted up seven small islands, why should we three care? The real issue is that we have discovered this so-called great vortex to be the core of a massive sealing array that had been in place for countless years. And these seven spiritual islands are merely part of that array. Shouldn't you now understand the seriousness of the matter?" Zhì Yáng smiled with a touch of weariness. "A sealing array—what could it be sealing, requiring such an immense scale?" Han Li finally grew pale, visibly startled. Though he didn't know the exact size of the array, the vast distances between the seven islands alone made its magnitude clear. "This is precisely what we're trying to figure out. Yet I have no clear idea. The sealed entity must be connected to the ancient demonic realm and the ancient demons. This point, I would like to ask Zhì Yáng to elaborate upon. After all, it was Zhì Yáng who first descended to the depths of the vortex and witnessed the scene there.
Wei Wuyafa spoke slowly. "What can I possibly say? You two have already seen it yourselves. At the very bottom of this immense vortex lies an endless expanse of profound, inextinguishable magical qi—so deep and vast that its exact depth remains completely unmeasurable. It is only held in place by the pure, refined spiritual energy flowing through the vortex itself, which prevents it from bursting out of the protective array. Should it erupt, however, it would undoubtedly bring a great calamity to the southern heavens—altering the very essence of the region's natural spiritual energy. In fact, I suspect that the Unbounded Sea may have always been this formidable, perhaps even originating from the magical qi beneath the ocean floor!" The Taoist spoke calmly. "Yet the current situation here, Brother Han, as you have also observed—has already seen the core of the sealing array damaged. The refined spiritual energy within the vortex is gradually seeping out. Eventually, it will no longer be able to contain the underlying magical qi beneath. Once that occurs, at least a significant portion of the southern region will be severely affected, rendering it unsuitable for cultivation by our immortal practitioners."
And as the Luoyun Sect is right next to the Wubian Sea, it must surely suffer greatly from this disaster," Wei Wuyi said, with a sigh. When Han Li heard this, he was already at a loss. "Since the three of you have summoned me now, surely there must be a method to resolve this crisis, isn't there? Otherwise, if you yourselves cannot find a solution, then I, Han Li, will be completely helpless," Han Li said calmly, lifting a slight eyebrow.
It truly seems不可思议. How this matter could possibly be connected to the Great Jin immortal realm! When Wei Wuyafa spoke these words, he glanced at Zhiyang Monks, his face expressing a look of bewilderment. "The Great Jin?" Han Li was genuinely stunned at this point. "Monk, do you know where these ancient texts were originally discovered?" Zhiyang Monks chuckled, a touch of helplessness in his voice. "What I mean is, the texts are—rather difficult to comprehend..." Han Li had a strong sense of what was coming, and his own expression reflected astonishment. "Ah, it seems you've already guessed. The records concerning this ancient sealing array were found in a hidden manuscript within our monastery—one that had been neglected for many years. In the process, we also clarified some of our own historical origins. In ancient times, our monastery was actually a branch of the 'Zhenji Monastery,' one of the three foremost immortal sects in the current Great Jin realm. In fact, the very reason we relocated to this southern sky region was to guard this ancient sealing array."
The Taoist sighed, looking helpless.
