Besides the thin elderly shopkeeper and the irate man speaking loudly, there was also a young man with a gentle demeanor. With a subtle sweep of his divine awareness, Han Li instantly discerned that both of them were at the initial stage of the Transcendent Realm. "Hmph! I've never said I'd only bring one person to assist me in subduing the spirit beast. If anyone is unwilling, they may simply leave—I won't hinder them in the slightest. But if they wish to obtain the Ice Heart Crystal, the Purple Light Iron, or the Qing Luo Fruits, they'll be out of luck." The thin man flicked his eyes and emitted a dismissive hum. The young man and the large man exchanged puzzled glances. Han Li, however, remained in place, only slightly frowning. "Well, then, three shall be three. Yet, if one of us manages to assist in subduing the spirit beast first, what will the others gain?" the young man expressed his concern. "Heh, don't worry about that. From the beginning, I never intended for either of you to act alone—I specifically envisioned all three of us working in unison to harness the power of lightning and thunder."
Otherwise, based on our previous experience, your current ability in lightning and thunder would simply not be enough to succeed. As long as you manage to accomplish this, whatever you seek, I will deliver as agreed." The storekeeper said with a cold smile. Upon hearing that all their desired items would be granted, the tall man and the young man relaxed, showing no further objections. Satisfied with this, the storekeeper nodded in approval, yet upon glancing at Han Li, he murmured in admiration. "Han brother, it's only been a few days since we last saw you, yet you've advanced from a mid-tier spiritual general to a high-tier one. Truly astonishing! I must extend my heartfelt congratulations. With such an advancement, your lightning and thunder abilities must now be even more powerful, wouldn't you agree?" he asked with genuine interest. "I've merely been fortunate, though the power of lightning has indeed grown somewhat," Han Li replied with a gentle smile, half-true and half-pretending. Upon hearing their words, the black-armored man and the young man also studied Han Li more closely, both expressing some surprise.
"Very well. Since none of you have any objections, let us follow me. The spirit beast has already been settled in a secluded location, and you will have to come with me." The merchant said. "Following Fish Brother is no problem, but before we begin our tasks, shouldn't we first inspect the items we're being asked to take?" The young, gentle man glanced thoughtfully, then said this. The tall, dark-armored man paused, then nodded vigorously. Although Han Li said nothing, his expression clearly conveyed his agreement. "You want to inspect the goods! Of course, no problem at all. I've already prepared everything. Please take a close look." The merchant seemed to have anticipated the young man's words and responded with an unusually enthusiastic and decisive tone, a marked contrast to his earlier reserved and critical demeanor, which left the young man momentarily surprised. "Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!" Three wooden boxes of varying sizes flew out. The thin, wiry man simply and neatly threw them over.
The young man and the tall man were delighted, each shaking their sleeves and sending a cascade of shimmering light spiraling into the wooden box before them. Han Li's heart leapt as he reached out and gently caught the one flying toward him, then skillfully opened the lid. A refreshing, invigorating aroma immediately filled the air. Inside the box lay a fruit the size of a clenched fist, an unusually vivid emerald green, resembling jade in hue, with two odd, pale red leaves resting beneath it. Han Li's eyes narrowed slightly as he extended a finger, ready to gently touch the fruit. In fact, not only Han Li, but the other two guests also reached out, eager to carefully extract the object from the box for closer inspection. Yet at that moment, the shopkeeper suddenly spoke calmly, with a faint tone: "If I were you, I would not touch the items inside this box with my hands. A few subtle enchantments have been placed upon them. Should anything go wrong, even if you were to lose everything you own, it might still not be enough to make up for the damage." Han Li and his companions' hands instantly froze. "Fish brother, what do you mean?"
"How can we tell whether it's genuine if we can't touch it with our hands?" The tall man was startled, then grew somewhat annoyed. "With just our eyes and spiritual awareness, with the three of you at your current levels, you should be able to judge it with at least seven or eight out of ten confidence. If you truly want to be absolutely certain about the contents of the box, we can wait until after the three of you have finished. As for me, I can't guarantee that I'll be able to successfully subdue the spirit beasts with your help. Should that fail, there would be no need for me to personally verify the contents—wouldn't you rather doubt my credibility, given my standing within the clan?" The thin man spoke with complete indifference. "Very well. We'll trust you this time. I suspect Fish Brother won't actually ruin his reputation." The gentle young man studied the box several times, his expression uncertain, before finally stomping his foot and tossing it back. After carefully examining the contents in his hands, the tall man remained hesitant, yet ultimately returned the box with reluctance. With both wooden boxes now securely placed, the fish-named merchant smiled contentedly and finally turned his gaze toward the other side.
At this moment, Han Li was intently gazing at the jade-colored fruit inside the box, subtle streaks of blue light flickering deep within his pupils, his face filled with thoughtful concentration. "Hmm, Han brother, does the Qing Luo fruit seem unusual to you?" The shopkeeper, startled by Han Li's demeanor, soon asked calmly. "Nothing at all," Han Li shook his head, closed the wooden box, and handed it over to the shopkeeper. The thin, wiry man received the box, glanced at Han Li once more with a steady gaze, and then without a word, stepped out of the door. Han Li and the other two naturally followed. Though the thin man's flight was swift, Han Li and his companions were no ordinary travelers—they kept up effortlessly, flying steadily out of the trading hall and heading toward a certain direction within the Sacred City. After flying for a full hour, they reached a remote corner of the Sacred City. The area was clearly sparsely built, with few visitors from the Tian Peng people, and appeared remarkably desolate.
The master brought them to a modest, low building. The structure stood only thirty paces high, two stories in height, with a gray, hazy appearance. As soon as the thin man set his feet upon the ground, the main gate opened of its own accord, and two men in their twenties stepped out immediately, rushing to pay their master a respectful bow and greeting, "Welcome back, Master!" "You two stay outside. Without my command, no one shall be admitted," the master instructed, his expression stern and cold. "Understood!" The two men responded promptly and naturally, then parted to stand on either side of the gate. Han Li glanced at the two men and judged them to be at the level of early Dan stage, then dismissed them as unremarkable. The master had already entered the building, and the young man and the large man hesitated slightly before following him in. Han Li entered last.
The room was not large, and everything in its arrangement appeared ordinary—three square wooden tables and over a dozen wooden chairs occupied most of the space. Hanging on the walls around the room were several slightly yellowed ancient paintings, depicting mythical beasts and mountain landscapes, none of which stood out in any way.
"Fish brother, is that spirit creature really here?" the big man glanced around, unable to help but ask.
Given how compact the space was, it seemed unlikely that any powerful spirit creature would be confined within—so it was no surprise that he harbored some doubt.
"By the time we've arrived, I'd have deceived you all," the shopkeeper shot him a glance, speaking with no hesitation. Then he took a few steps and approached a landscape painting hanging on one of the walls. With a swift motion of his sleeve, he suddenly produced several scrolls from his sleeve.
He gently unfolded the scroll, and to everyone's surprise, it revealed exactly the same scene as the painting mounted on the wall.
Upon seeing the scene, Da Han and Han Li were momentarily stunned, unable to grasp the meaning of the other's actions. The young man with a gentle demeanor swiftly scanned the two scrolls and then suddenly gasped, his face pale: "The Suomi Heavenly Realm scroll! You actually possess a treasure of the Wuguang Clan!" "The Suomi scroll? That seems impossible. The Wuguang Clan doesn't have more than seven such treasures—how could Fish Brother have obtained one?" Da Han was startled, unable to believe what he was hearing. Although Han Li remained puzzled, the mention of "Suomi" stirred something within him, prompting him to carefully examine the scrolls on the wall. He noticed that on the slightly yellowed scroll, a small, dark green mountain was clearly depicted, with a faint hint of buildings atop it—yet the image was hazy and indistinct, giving off an unusually soft, blurred impression. "Hehe, you two have excellent eyesight," the merchant smiled. "Indeed, this is a Suomi Heavenly Realm scroll. But it's not one of the seven treasured sets regarded as the Clan's crown jewels—it's merely a slightly imperfect version of the Suomi scroll."
"Replicas?" Both the young man and the tall man were taken aback. "Indeed, even among the Wuguang clan, only a few are aware of this matter. Originally, the Wuguang clan used the spiritual bones of the five-colored peacocks to create ten sets of the SuMi Heavenly Realm maps—not just seven. However, three of these sets developed imperfections during the crafting process, resulting in significantly diminished effects. Consequently, these three sets were concealed long ago and never officially announced. Over time, due to various circumstances, these three sets eventually slipped out of the Wuguang clan and came into the hands of other clans. As for the set I currently possess, the details of how I obtained it need not concern you three." The thin man beamed with pride. "Even with these imperfections, Brother Yu's acquisition of such a SuMi map surely required extraordinary fortune," remarked the tall man, his expression filled with admiration.
The gentle young man gazed at the two scroll paintings, his eyes briefly flashing with longing.
Although韩立's face showed no outward change, his heart naturally burned with the same enthusiasm.
The treasure from the Everlasting Mountain—this was one of the most coveted items he had longed for since arriving in the Spiritual Realm. Unlike the artificial Everlasting Mountain spaces created in the Human Realm through spatial fissures, this was a genuine, independent spatial treasure that could be carried with him at all times. "Alright, let's go. I've settled the spiritual beast within the Heavenly Abode." The shopkeeper's smile faded as he suddenly shook the scroll tightly in his hands.
After the glow faded, the ground was empty, and the entire room was deserted. (First chapter!)
