Han Li, however, did not stand idle by. With a swift flick of both sleeves, a dense stream of talismans shot out, swirling around him in a continuous motion. These talismans appeared remarkably mysterious, totaling no less than one hundred and eight. Han Li then pressed his palms together, quickly pointing toward the distant thunderclouds several times, his expression growing increasingly serious. Instantly, the talismans transformed into a hundred and eight flashes of silver light, vanishing without a trace before Han Li's eyes. At that moment, a flash of silver light erupted above the vast thundercloud, revealing the same one hundred and eight silver talismans. They spun around, forming an odd, intricate pattern that perfectly enveloped the thundercloud beneath. With a single gesture of his hand seal, Han Li caused the talismans to burst simultaneously, giving rise to a large, shimmering luminous array. Within this array, a grand palace appeared as a faint, ethereal silhouette, as though it belonged to a realm beyond the mortal world. The palace radiated a brilliant silver glow, with countless characters swirling and dancing upon its surface. A heavenly melody, softly emanating from its center, filled the air, bringing a deep sense of tranquility
Yet when someone paid close attention and wished to hear the full account, the celestial music vanished entirely.
Han Li was delighted upon seeing the light array take shape, and immediately cast spells to accelerate its descent. The massive light array slowly drifted downward.
At that moment, a mighty roar suddenly erupted from the thunderclouds.
Following several thunderclaps that shook the heavens, the azure clouds surged violently, and several thick arcs of water-jar-sized lightning burst through the clouds, forcefully shooting out.
These arcs were so broad that, as they spiraled through the clouds, they appeared like a great dragon rearing its head and stretching its limbs.
In a short while, the vast thundercloud was completely cleared away by the booming sound.
Once the thunderclouds vanished, the lightning arcs disappeared as well.
The distant form of the Yin-Lei Beast reappeared.
Now, the beast looked extremely disheveled—its scales dull and lifeless, and the areas not covered by scales were scorched black. Only its single horn on the head shone with bright silver light, with delicate filaments of electricity still swirling around it. Clearly, the thick silver arc that had just surged forth had originated from this horn.
But what struck Han Li most unexpectedly was that as soon as the beast took its shape, it opened its mouth and expelled a burst of bloodlight. Within the bloodlight, golden glimmers flashed, and three beetle-like creatures hummed softly—clearly his Golden-Feathered Beetles. They had been forcibly ejected from the beast’s body by its magical power. Such prowess sent a chill through Han Li’s heart. When the Golden-Feathered Beetles had unexpectedly been swallowed by the beast, Han Li had been overjoyed and had even momentarily resolved to kill it. But now, witnessing this scene, he realized his enthusiasm had been misplaced and immediately set aside that intention. Han Li glanced around and saw his jade bamboo-honeyed sword floating above the beast’s foot, gently glowing with a faint golden light. Clearly, under the combined assault of the thunderclouds and the Golden-Feathered Beetles, the beast had no time or energy to pay attention to the sword, and had simply cast it aside—since it posed no real threat. Meanwhile, the beast was fixated on Han Li, its eyes filled with unmistakable ferocity.
It suffered such a crushing defeat that it seemed eager to tear Han Li apart instantly. Yet before the beast could react, Han Li merely raised his hand, and three Golden-Feeding Insects shot out from the bloodlight, streaking back toward him. The small golden sword in its mouth trembled and suddenly vanished from its grasp. A flash of gold, and the sword emitted a low hum, then appeared beside Han Li, only to vanish into his sleeve. The Insects that arrived shortly after did the same. The冥雷兽was stunned, then furious, roaring with a piercing cry, as it prepared to act. But at that moment, a flash of silver light appeared above its head, and a vast, shimmering light array descended silently and unexpectedly. With such a massive array now hovering directly above it, even if the beast had not noticed it initially, it could no longer overlook it. As it lifted its head, it gazed upon the array, its eyes widening with surprise. Yet immediately, its sharp horn crackled with thunder, and a massive arc of silver light surged forth, striking out.
With a thunderous roar, the electric arc struck solidly against the base of the luminous array. Yet, as silver light flashed, the massive arc vanished into the array, as if swallowed whole. Only then did the beast realize something was amiss. Its limbs flashed with electric light and it shot forth, attempting to escape. But it was too late. The aerial array shifted, and the strange phenomenon disappeared. As the beast surged forward over ten zhang, a sudden flash of silver light illuminated it, and it found itself enveloped in a misty, ethereal white fog. It scanned around, and at a distance, faintly discerned high walls and pavilions, terraces, and halls, layered upon one another—how many there were, it could not tell. At first startled, it soon calmed, for it had lived for countless tens of thousands of years and had, time and again, been trapped by magical arrays. It no longer found such restrictions remarkable. It lifted its neck and gazed upward. The sky above was silver-tinged and misty, yet revealed nothing at all.
The Ming-Lei Beast tilted its neck, pondered for a moment, then instantly shifted, transforming into a silver arc that surged straight upward. As it ascended, its two claws reached out and grasped the void.
With Han Lixiu, not even a full-body stage being able to truly contain him—let alone the one before him. Just as the beast unleashed its first strike, Han Lixiu, who had been standing at the edge of the light array, single-handedly channeling immense spiritual energy into a scroll, suddenly felt a tremendous force surge through him, his body shaking as he stepped back two paces. His face changed expression several times! Fortunately, the spiritual energy within him swiftly circulated and stabilized, allowing him to remain unphased. Clearly, under this beast's assault, the current seal could only withstand for a brief moment—his cultivation level and that of the Yin-Lei Beast were simply worlds apart! Nevertheless, when he first summoned this array, he had never intended to hold the beast in place for long; merely securing a temporary advantage would have been sufficient. Upon seeing the array momentarily immobilize the beast, Han Lixiu drew his hand back and immediately flapped his wings behind him, transforming into a streak of emerald light and retreating toward the direction from which he had come. After a few swift movements, he reached the far edge of the sky, and with one more flash, he vanished completely.
Just then, Han Li suddenly stiffened, raised his hand, and a loud rushing sound erupted as dozens of golden small swords shot forth simultaneously, aimed at a spot in the nearby void.
The white-robed ghost woman gasped suddenly, her face filled with alarm, and instantly transformed into a stream of white vapor, retreating in reverse. Yet the Tíhún beast moved even more swiftly—its form flickered in an instant, expanding into that of a giant ape several zhang tall. With a broad stroke of its great nose, a cascade of golden-hued light surged forth, instantly enveloping the white glow and then curling it backward. As the white light settled, the white-robed ghost woman reappeared. In her state of shock, her white robe suddenly transformed into a radiant, translucent shield, fully enclosing and protecting her form. It seemed this robe was no ordinary treasure—the Tíhún’s soul-seizing light could not penetrate this shimmering barrier for the moment. The Tíhún grew serious, low-roared deep within its throat, and with a gust of surrounding阴wind, countless lightning bolts erupted. The giant ape’s body swelled, its fur turning crimson, three curved horns emerging from its cranial dome, and a crack forming across its brow, revealing a blood-red, ethereal eye.
At the same time, the beast's face elongated, its sharp fangs prominently exposed, and three black bone spines, each reaching a zhang in length, emerged from its back, wrapped in swirling black mist and exuding a chilling, oppressive阴 energy. Upon witnessing the transformation of Ti Hu, the white-robed ghost woman grew even more alarmed, suddenly emitting a long, piercing cry. An invisible wave of sound surged directly toward both Ti Hu and Han Li, rushing at full force. However, Han Li had already anticipated this, gently touching his forehead. A cascade of gray light and five-colored flames erupted, enveloping both himself and the Ti Hu beast within. As a result, Han Li's consciousness only experienced a slight discomfort, remaining unbothered. The Ti Hu beast, on the other hand, was unaffected—its expression darkened momentarily, and its celestial eye slowly opened. A thunderous boom followed, and a lightning arc, as thick as a serving bowl, shot forth. This arc was remarkably crimson, resembling blood, and pierced straight through the white-robed ghost woman, who had been motionless under the captivation of the soul-harvesting light. The protective white light shield offered no resistance whatsoever to this blood-like surge
Under the ghost maiden's piercing cry, the blood-red electric arc coiled like a serpent, tightly ensnaring the spectral being. Then, with a sudden pull, the turtle maiden was launched upward, swiftly shrinking within the arc. A single sway, and she found herself before a vast, gaping maw—devoured without hesitation by the啼魂 beast.
Han Li also stomped his foot, rolled his body across the ground, and suddenly transformed into a large green phoenix, speeding off toward the distance.
