In the air, Han Li, seeing this scene, immediately pressed his palms together, and as a ripple surged above the green flames, his silvery hair momentarily dispersed and then vanished. In that instant, the two clumps of green flames were neatly enclosed within it. The green flames immediately began to quiver and emit strange cries within the silvery strands, yet could not break free. At this moment, a strange jade cauldron of a pale green hue suddenly appeared in the nearby void. Han Li's eyes flashed with cold light, and with a single gesture, he pointed his hand. The silver phoenix flying toward him burst with a deep rumble, instantly splitting into two fiery spheres that shot forth. After two sharp "pffft" sounds, the spheres struck precisely upon the two trapped green flames. Following two piercing cries, the two green flames flashed with a green glow within the silver flame, suddenly coalescing into two round, eye-like orbs. They seemed to blink at Han Li, as if a subtle shimmer had passed through them. Han Li was startled, nearly instinctively blurring into form, and vanished from his spot in an instant.
At that very moment, the two clumps of green flame vanished into the silver light, completely erased from existence. At another spot in the sky, some十余丈 away, Han Li materialized in a glow of jade light, his eyes fixed downward, yet his brows furrowed in concern. The refined essences of such a high-tier monster were undoubtedly valuable, but without knowing the creature's true nature, Han Li dared not allow them to survive—fearful of unforeseen consequences. As for the soul-siphoning and spirit-refining techniques, he found them unsuitable when applied to beings of even higher rank, as he might very well be subjected to a counter-effect of the very method he employed. Yet the fact that this monster possessed two separate essences came as a surprise. Moreover, the strange form the essences ultimately transformed into seemed rather unusual. However, Han Li had carefully examined himself and found no abnormalities. It appeared that the creature had not yet had time to activate whatever mechanism it possessed, before being consumed by the Spirit-Eating Heavenly Flame. With these thoughts running through his mind, Han Li gently exhaled and then extended his hand toward the distance, shaking his sleeve slightly.
At that moment, not only the silver flames and the ethereal small cauldron shot back, but even the distant Yuanmagnetic mountain peak and the seventy-two bamboo-honey-cloud swords stationed far away suddenly flashed into view, appearing before him and being absorbed into his body. Han Li then felt a shimmer of green light on his surface, drifting gently downward. Han Li was unaware that, precisely when he had slain the strange moths, deep within a vast, dark sea far beyond, there stood a subterranean palace constructed entirely of white jade. In the deepest chamber of this palace, twelve ancient bronze lamps, each about a foot tall, were arranged side by side on the ground, each glowing with varying-sized patches of pale green flame. Some flames were as large as eggs, others as thick as a thumb. Before these ancient lamps, a slender, tall figure remained motionless, seated quietly, his head slightly bowed. His entire body and face were enveloped in a flowing, pale golden cloak. The surface of the cloak shimmered with luminous energy, bearing intricate, strange patterns etched upon it.
At the very instant韩立 extinguished the two essences of the strange moth, the medium-sized flame of one of the ancient lamps suddenly flickered and went out.
A strange, crisp crack echoed from the thin, withered figure, and its head, which had been bowed low, slowly lifted. At the same time, two clusters of green flames appeared, revealing its true form.
It was a skeleton face, with a sparse array of bones, yet the two green flames shimmered within its eye sockets, creating a most eerie appearance.
The skull turned its head, its gaze coldly fixed on the now-extinguished ancient lamp, as if emitting a cold, resentful sigh through its nostrils. Suddenly, it opened its mouth and expelled a sphere of black light.
To everyone's astonishment, a square black seal emerged!
The seal's surface was exceptionally smooth, yet engraved with a true black dragon coiled around it several times.
A series of unfamiliar incantations issued from the skull's mouth, and a cascade of radiant light surged forth from within the seal. Then, a massive, dark object, similarly black, flashed into being and fell out of the light.
Under the dim light, it appeared to be a strange beast, several zhang long, with an unusually vivid jade-green body and a head resembling that of a giant ox. Lying motionless on the ground, it seemed barely alive—except for the subtle rise and fall of its chest, which might have otherwise been mistaken for a corpse. As its mouth opened, a cluster of green flames, the size of soybeans, drifted out slowly, then flashed and vanished into its body. The beast shivered, and immediately a series of crackling sounds erupted across its surface, followed by the slow opening of its massive, ox-like eyes—then, it rose to its feet. At first, it appeared somewhat disoriented, but after glancing around, its gaze suddenly cleared. It clenched its fists and raised its head, unleashing a thunderous roar. Waves of azure electric arcs surged across its body, intertwining and spiraling. Meanwhile, the skeletal head, which had previously flickered with green flames, suddenly emitted a sound unlike human speech—seeming to issue instructions to the creature.
At once, the bull-shaped monster shifted, and electric arcs surged across its body, suddenly bright and vivid. A thunderclap followed, and beneath a massive streak of azure lightning, the creature vanished entirely, as if materializing through the power of Raijin. The chamber once again grew dim and gloomy. The skeleton's green flame in its eyes flickered, then settled back upon the ancient lamp that had gone out. With a bone-white finger, it pointed toward the empty space before the lamp. A soft, barely audible "pop" sounded, and the lamp's flame rekindled—though only as small as a soybean, frail and delicate, as if it could be extinguished by a single breath. After completing this, the skeleton's green flame flickered several times, it tilted its head slightly, pondered, and then shifted its gaze away from the lamp. Yet at that very moment, one of its fingers lightly swept through the space before it, drawing a circular arc. As the circle took shape, a ripple of spatial disturbance surged, and instantly, a bright silver mirror appeared, spinning continuously before the skeleton.
The skeleton remained unactivated. As it opened its mouth, a surge of green light erupted, instantly illuminating the mirror's surface. A series of vivid scenes flashed forth from it—some remarkably clear, as if just moments away, while others were hazy, partially obscured by something. Yet each scene depicted entirely different settings and beings—some human, others animal—each radiating an overwhelming sense of power. Suddenly, the skeleton pointed a finger at the mirror, causing the images to pause and freeze in place. A young figure with hands behind his back appeared, expressionless, clad in a deep blue robe. Not Han Li, then who else? The skeleton gazed steadily at the image of Han Li for a long while, before seemingly casually waving his hand. A crisp crack echoed through the air, and the mirror shattered from the center, then gradually dissolved into scattered points of shimmering green light.
The green flame in the skeleton's eyes flickered and burned for a moment before dimming and finally fading out. As the head slightly lowered, the entire figure remained still.
...At the same time, Han Li had already drifted down to the corpse of the strange purple-black moth, taking a closer look.
This creature, being of such a high rank, naturally possessed materials of exceptional rarity throughout its body. However, besides the inner essence of the beast, Han Li was most interested in the scales of the moth that could coalesce into crystalline shields, and the massive wings capable of transforming into sharp blades.
Yet it was not yet time to dismember the creature. Suddenly, Han Li shook his body slightly, and his storage bracelet shot out, spiraling once in the air before erupting a cascade of azure light.
Within the glow, the moth's corpse rapidly shrunk and was eventually drawn into the storage bracelet, vanishing completely.
After completing all this, Han Li single-handedly retrieved his storage bracelet, surveyed the surroundings, and after a brief thought, a glimmer of green light surged from his body, forming a streak of jade-green light that shot swiftly toward the inland, in the direction the strange moth had flown. This time, the flight was not toward the outside, but deeper into the island. It didn't take long. Within a short while, Han Li hovered before a vast cluster of buildings that had collapsed halfway. The area spanned several miles, and all the houses shimmered with a crystalline brilliance—clearly constructed entirely of ice. Yet now, between these ice structures, aside from bloodstains and torn garments, the interiors were empty, as though everyone had been slain by the strange moth. Han Li frowned, and descended toward what appeared to be the largest palace. But as soon as his feet touched the ground, his expression changed suddenly, and his gaze snapped to a seemingly ordinary pavilion nearby. "Who's hiding there? Come out!"
Han Li's figure slightly blurred, and yet he mysteriously arrived before the pavilion, while coldly commanding, "Forgive me, sir! We are attendants summoned by Master Yinsha!" A trembling female voice came from within the pavilion. As the pavilion door, which had been tightly closed, swung open, a group of young men and women stepped out. These individuals, regardless of gender, were all exceptionally graceful and youthful, mostly in their late teens. At the forefront was a young woman in a white robe, who immediately led the group of about thirty and bowed deeply before Han Li. Their expressions were filled with profound fear. Han Li glanced over them, his face briefly showing a look of surprise. At first glance, they seemed no different from ordinary human beings—showing no signs of magical energy. Yet upon closer inspection, subtle differences became evident.
The skin of these young men and women shone with an exceptional clarity, each radiating a subtle coldness, and dressed in remarkably thin garments, as though completely unafraid of the island's icy climate. As Han Li's brow slightly furrowed, preparing to ask a question, he suddenly paused and turned back. Moments later, a flash of luminous light appeared on the horizon, followed by two streaks of brilliant rainbows shooting swiftly toward them, their speed astonishing. After a few swift movements, they had arrived in the vicinity of the sky. As the light faded, two slender figures emerged—Qing Xiao and the young woman in a black dress. Both women were visibly delighted upon seeing them. "Master Han, if you're here, does that mean you've already defeated that colossal moth?" Qing Xiao asked hesitantly, her face filled with disbelief. The young woman in black immediately held her breath, listening intently. "Yes, that creature has been defeated," Han Li replied, smiling slightly, and gave a gentle flick of his wrist.
As the dawn light shimmered, the strange moth's body materialized on the ground with a sudden "thud."
