Chapter 1555: Restoring the Magical Array

Back to Chapter List
The colossal sea beast observed this. Though its earlier blue light emission had seemed unimpressive, it was in fact a protective divine technique cultivated through gathering the essence of water lilies—of immense power, having previously saved its life on numerous occasions. Now, however, it was effortlessly dispersed by these three golden beams, prompting a sudden realization within it. The creature felt a growing sense of unease. The damage inflicted by the golden light was not particularly severe in its eyes. As if merely shifting slightly, its mountain-like form caused a surge of waves across the nearby sea surface, and instantly, countless blue light points erupted from the water, swiftly filling the wounds. Then, with a flash of spiritual light, the wounds where the beams had pierced it instantly restored themselves to their original state. Han Li observed this, his eyes narrowing slightly. On the other side, the other three golden light columns also flashed and submerged into the crimson flame. While they easily separated the flame, when they struck the giant shrimp’s bright, blood-red, hard shell, the flame merely flickered, and the light columns unexpectedly thinned considerably—reducing their power by nearly half. With three heavy thuds, the blood-red giant shrimp shuddered and was forcibly launched off the rocky base below. Yet its exoskeleton only bore three shallow indentations, several inches deep, and was not pierced by the golden light beam. Han Li was deeply surprised by this sight, but quickly regained his composure. Then the black mountain surged forward, pressing directly upon the shrimp. The giant shrimp's two front claws burst with blood-like radiance, suddenly swelling to several times their original size, and it lifted them upward with great force, determined to withstand the Yuanmagnetic Holy Mountain with sheer strength. It was no surprise that the creature acted so carelessly. With its own body length of nearly two hundred zhang, facing a black mountain that had only grown to a height of a hundred zhang, it seemed perfectly capable of sending it flying in one go. As the house-sized claws made contact with the base of the black mountain, a flash of gray shimmer appeared on the mountain's surface, followed instantly by two crisp cracks. The giant claws trembled and were then crushed into four separate pieces under the irresistible force. The colossal turtle cracked inch by inch from its central section. The black mountain continued its downward plunge without pause, roaring with a thunderous sound, and with a sudden press, crushed the unprepared giant shrimp, pressing its upper half firmly onto the reef. Under the immense force, the entire reef trembled and sank several dozen feet deeper. Despite the giant shrimp's furious, enraged cries and frantic efforts to shake its upper body free, the black mountain remained motionless, as if now fused seamlessly with the reef. The giant shrimp was instantly immobilized, unable to move or escape. A second sea creature, observing this scene, caught a flicker of fear in its eyes. Without further hesitation, it slammed its massive tail against the water surface. The nearby sea surged violently, releasing a series of sharp crackling sounds as countless water jets—each stretching many zhang in length—flew out like arrows, rushing directly toward Han Li. A dense, rushing wave of blue light poured over him, as if a storm of rain and wind had burst upon him. At the same time, more blue light points surged from the nearby sea, swiftly enveloping the massive body of the sea creature and beginning to flash erratically. This creature proved exceptionally cunning—upon sensing the formidable momentum of Han Li’s approach, it immediately feinted and prepared to vanish into the air using its teleportation technique. Observing this clearly, Han Li’s gaze upon the creature carried a subtle expression of surprise. Suddenly, he swept his sleeve forward. A broad expanse of gray mist materialized before him, forming a large, shimmering gray aura several zhang in diameter. As this aura spun gently, the numerous water jets rushing toward it instantly plunged into it like moths into a flame, vanishing without trace. The Yuanmagnetic Divine Light, renowned for its ability to neutralize the Five Elements techniques, was a matter of ease for Han Li to dispel these water jets. Yet, Han Li never once glanced at the water jets—his eyes remained fixed on the enormous sea creature radiating intense blue light. No one knew that, as he activated the Yuanmagnetic Divine Light, he had silently pressed a series of sword gestures within his mind. As the colossal sea beast's form began to blur and fade, just as it was about to vanish, a sudden cluster of emerald luminous glimmers emerged within hundreds of zhang around it. In a flash, these glimmers transformed into seventy-two large, fist-sized emerald lotus blossoms. The lotuses slightly blurred, then instantly morphed into hundreds more. With a mere spin, each lotus released a surge of emerald mist, which instantly converged into a seamless sheet of emerald light. A dense, vibrant wood qi surged forth within the light curtain, instantly encircling and trapping the entire sea beast resembling a giant whale. All of this unfolded in a single, fleeting moment. Yet, since this sea beast had survived thus far amid relentless pursuit by numerous alien tribes, it possessed an exceptionally high level of intelligence. Upon witnessing this development, it immediately sensed the peril—its silver eyes flickered, and at once, the blue light on its body burst forth, transforming into a brilliant, dazzling aura. Then, as the beast shifted slightly, its massive form began to dissolve and disintegrate, like foam in a wave. At that very moment, a brilliant blue glow suddenly burst forth from a faintly translucent light screen, followed by a low roar. A "mini whale" about one zhang in size emerged mysteriously within the blue radiance, appearing as though blocked by the green light screen. The sea creature's water-dwelling technique had unexpectedly been obstructed, naturally causing it great surprise and agitation! As it opened its mouth, thunderous roars erupted, and a bright blue arc of light was forcefully expelled, striking the green screen with great force. Yet the screen merely trembled slightly on its surface and remained unchanged. In growing panic, the mini whale shook its head vigorously. Suddenly, its cranial dome opened, and a cascade of red light spiraled out. Within it lay a square, vividly red brick, crystal-clear and smooth as jade. The brick instantly expanded rapidly, growing to several feet in size. In a flash, it struck the green screen with a thunderous crash, producing a sharp crackling sound. However, after a tremendous impact, a vibrant red flame intertwined with the light, yet the outcome remained exactly the same as before. The azure light screen flashed twice, then calmly absorbed it, as if nothing had happened. This time, the beast truly grew alarmed. Its form swayed, then surged again to mountain-sized proportions, before the blue light descended, and it charged forward with its massive body. From above, Han Li watched the entire scene, a gentle smile playing at the corners of his mouth. "Indeed, the Chunli Sword Formation behaves exactly as anticipated—it relies primarily on illusion magic, yet excels remarkably in restraining various forms of evasive techniques, surpassing even the Dageng Sword Formation. Though this sea beast's water-based evasion technique has undergone some variation, it has still been effectively trapped by the sword formation I laid down swiftly and unexpectedly. Once the beast inadvertently entered the formation, its very life and death now rest entirely in my hands. And yet, the sword formation has not yet unleashed even a fraction of its full power—perfect for using this creature as a practical test subject. With these thoughts in mind, Han Li raised one hand and swiftly pressed a series of hand seals with his fingers, then softly murmured a phrase under his breath. Suddenly, an imperceptible ripple of unusual fluctuation appeared on the distant azure light screen, causing it to slightly blur. As the sea creature, now once again assuming the form of a massive whale, plunged headfirst into the screen, a surprising scene unfolded. Upon the moment its enormous body made contact with the azure screen, it encountered no resistance at all—seeming as though it had plunged into the air—and surged straight through. The entire whale-like creature seemed instantly absorbed by the screen. From the vantage point of Han Li floating in the air, this phenomenon was clearly visible. A flash of azure light, and the giant creature momentarily wavered before vanishing from the front. The next instant, it suddenly burst forth again, flashing out from a side section of the screen. The sea creature blinked in surprise, then swiftly shifted its gaze and changed direction, plunging back into the barrier once more. This sequence repeated several times, with each instance being nearly identical. Recognizing that the situation would not improve, the creature finally ceased its evasive motion. At this very moment, Han Li activated his sword formation. Suddenly, the surrounding jade-like light screens flickered and shattered piece by piece, as green glimmers danced in the air, carrying with them the scent of flowers and grass—immediately transporting the being into a world of birdsong and blossoms. To the sea-beast's eyes, it now stood firmly within a dense forest meadow, lifelike and so authentic that it was nearly indistinguishable from reality. Beneath the gentle shadows and light of trees and flowers, a quiet, pervasive atmosphere of solemnity gradually emerged. Only when the beast lowered its head in bewilderment did it gasp in astonishment—there, beneath its feet, a colossal jade lotus had appeared without any prior notice, spanning nearly a hundred paces in diameter, its petals softly tinged with a delicate green hue, shimmering with gentle radiance. The giant beast murmured, "This is not good!"—still unable to react when, suddenly, the lotus began to gently rotate. A cascade of jade-colored light ribbons rose in the air around it, spiraling gracefully around the beast’s body, and instantly a powerful, invisible force settled upon its form. This force was so strong that the giant’s entire body stiff Then, at the next moment, a flash of jade-like light surged, and dozens of serpents the width of large bowls shot forth from the glow, charging directly toward the great beast. As they opened their mouths, sharp, jagged fangs gleamed, each one terrifyingly fierce! He glanced around, his mind easing slightly. He found himself in a grand hall over a hundred zhang in size, quiet and still, with not a single figure in sight. Yet the walls shimmered with a soft, pale aura of magical seals, and there stood a stone door sealed tightly. At each of the four corners of the hall, there rose a towering stone pillar several zhang high, each crowned with a glowing, unidentified stone that illuminated the entire hall with exceptional clarity. He lowered his head slightly and saw, beneath his feet, a massive teleportation array identical to the one at the far end. With a deep breath, Han Li stepped out of the array and headed straight toward the stone door. With a single push, the seemingly solid and weighty stone door swung open as if it had no resistance at all. At the same moment, a bustling, market-like clamor suddenly surged toward him, catching Han Li completely off guard—and indeed, he was momentarily startled.
