The giant ape's two arms suddenly flashed with golden light, instantly thickening and swelling in circumference. Then, as it bent them, the two small hills surged with a resonant hum, expanding several times their original size—growing into colossal mountains towering four or fifty zhang high—and in a single flash, materialized above the crimson peacock, crashing downward with thunderous roars. Even before the mountains fully descended, sharp, piercing cries erupted in the surrounding void, radiating concentric waves of invisible energy. Instantly, a suffocating pressure descended upon the sky, causing the crimson peacock to feel a subtle surprise, though he didn't panic. In instinctive response, he flapped his wings wildly. A blood-tinged glow surged upward, forming a fierce gale—his intention being to absorb the two immense mountains hurled at him by Han Li's divine strength of the giant ape. While perhaps less refined in its subtle transformations than the five-colored divine light, this blood-tinged radiance carried an exceptionally venomous essence, specifically designed to taint and corrupt the spiritual purity of various treasures.
No matter how powerful the ordinary treasures might be, once ensnared by this bloodlight, they could only submit helplessly. The fish merchant naturally never imagined that the crafting methods of these two colossal mountains originated not from the spiritual realm, but from the truly renowned Yuanhe Wuji Mountains of the True Immortal Realm. Moreover, while the two mountains displayed astonishing offensive power, this strength did not stem primarily from the inherent might of the mountain peaks themselves, but rather from their immense weight and the colossal strength of the giant apes.
After the dark and azure mountain peaks were swept up by the blood-hued radiance, only two soft "pff" sounds were heard, and then the brilliant light collapsed, as if the radiance had been effortlessly torn apart like crumpled paper.
"Ah!" the fish merchant gasped in sudden alarm, prompting the blood-colored peacock he had transformed into to swiftly shift its position, attempting to dart sideways to evade the overhead assault.
Yet, with the two mountains fully enveloping the area below over a hundred zhang and advancing with such overwhelming force, how could it possibly evade the attack in an instant? In mere moments, the black mountain descended with a tremendous force, pressing down with unstoppable might.
The Blood Peacock stared with evident astonishment, yet, forced to act, silently clenched her teeth and exhaled a scroll of parchment. As soon as the scroll emerged from her mouth, it instantly unfurled itself. Under a cascade of霞light, vivid five-colored spectral images of pavilions and halls rose forth from the scroll—each resplendent and lifelike, so vivid that upon close inspection, they seemed to radiate a profound, ethereal mystery. Connected together, these spectral forms coalesced into a dense, luminous five-hued veil, instantly shielding the Blood Peacock within. The intense spatial disturbances triggered by the emergence of these images revealed that this artifact was an exceptionally rare spatial-class treasure. In the fish merchant’s estimation, this very spatial essence, which he considered his trump card, would be more than sufficient to withstand the seemingly imposing mountain before them. No matter how powerful the mountain’s forces, under the subtle and intricate laws of spatial transformation, they would prove utterly insignificant.
Of course, without the slightest hesitation, the blood-colored peacock transformed by the fish merchant fully extended its wings, and in the next moment could have completely vanished from the peril. Yet at that very instant, both mountains suddenly flashed with brilliant light—waves of gray radiance surged downward like a tide, accompanied by a series of sharp, piercing sounds as countless invisible, translucent blades of energy shot forth in all directions. When these two forces converged and struck the five-colored light screen with tremendous force, a thunderous roar erupted. The phantom pavilions and halls within the screen were instantly torn apart, and the two massive mountains, upon their descent, crushed all the remaining images beneath them, utterly unable to withstand the weight of the peaks. The blood-colored peacock, still unable to settle down, was struck squarely by the black mountain, and its body burst apart in mid-air, its flesh and blood scattering in all directions.
Han Li saw this scene and couldn't help but smile slightly, but at the next moment, his expression suddenly darkened. The fragmented flesh of the blood-colored peacock suddenly trembled at the foot of the mountain, then a series of "whooshing" sounds erupted. All the flesh surged toward one point, coalescing into a blood-colored mass that rapidly writhed with a most gruesome vitality, as if it were about to reform into a new body in an instant. Han Li's eyes flashed with cold light, and without a word, he pointed a finger at the black peak across the distance. The gray glow emanating from the mountain instantly solidified, transforming into countless gray filaments that shot downward, piercing through the blood-colored mass with a sudden burst of brilliance. Then, the cold light swiftly stirred and whirled around it. In the blink of an eye, the still-forming mass shattered again into countless fragments under the flashing gray light.
Yet the gray thread showed no sign of slowing down, and those scattered fragments transformed within a moment into a dense mist of blood—no longer able to coalesce or change shape.
A sudden "whoosh!" A five-colored ethereal form burst forth from the blood mist, within which a miniature peacock the size of a clenched fist was faintly visible.
This was the fish merchant who had narrowly escaped death by invoking a secret technique.
But how could Han Li allow him to escape? The colossal ape suddenly inhaled deeply, then opened its mouth again—within it, a rumbling thunder could be heard. A golden electric arc, as wide as a serving bowl, surged forth.
As this golden arc flashed, it spanned dozens of feet and struck the five-colored ethereal form with solid force.
A thunderclap! The miniature peacock cried out in agony and was instantly reduced to ashes, vanishing completely from the world.
At that moment, the golden giant raised his head, roared a joyful low cry, then clenched his fists and struck his chest. Instantly, his form rapidly shrunk within a glow of gold, and in a moment, he had fully transformed back into human shape.
With his original form restored, Han Li exhaled deeply, glanced down at the blood mist, and after a brief thought, suddenly extended one hand downward.
Immediately, two circular rings—one golden, one silver—shot forth from the midst and landed in his palm.
Han Li examined the two storage rings in his hand, then, with a flash of insight, vanished them from sight.
He then looked down at the now perfectly calm blood mist, his pupils flashing with sudden brilliance, and suddenly raised his sleeve.
A sharp "thud" sounded as a silver flame burst from his sleeve and struck the blood mist.
Like pouring water on a fire, the blood mist instantly caught flame, soon enveloped in a shimmering silver blaze, and a faint fishy aroma began to rise from within.
Below, a vast sea of silver flames had formed!
Han Li narrowed his eyes and, without hesitation, raised his hand again, reaching out toward the void below. Instantly, the silver light surged and rolled, transforming into a soaring dragon of flame. Yet all the flames were captured by a single sleeve, while in the palm of Han Li, a liquid orb the size of an egg appeared spontaneously, subtly radiating five-toned hues. Han Li gazed at this liquid, his face briefly revealing a look of astonishment. "Only a rough extraction, yet the purity of this true blood is so remarkable. Indeed, he is no ordinary member of the Five-Light Clan! If it were even more refined, calling him a direct descendant of the Five-Color Peacock might well be justified. Could it be that this person truly shares a profound connection with that Five-Color Peacock? Well, regardless of his true origins, that now matters little." Han Li murmured these thoughts, then shook his head in quiet curiosity. He then turned his hand slightly, producing a small crimson vial, and began reciting softly to himself, aiming it at the liquid orb in his palm.
At once, the small vial trembled and shot out a stream of white light, which swiftly enveloped the liquid mass, drawing every drop into itself without a single trace left behind. With a flash of inspiration, Han Li stored the vial, then, with a single hand gesture, summoned back the two towering peaks as well. Through this battle, he had discovered that the formidable power of the peaks, combined with the divine strength of the mountain giant's transformation, had become another key weapon in his arsenal. Should he be able to craft one or two more such peaks, the impact of this technique in combat would be instantly amplified. A shimmer of azure light rippled across Han Li's form, and in an instant, he vanished from his original position. The next moment, as the space around Ti Hu's ghostly giant form rippled, Han Li appeared silently before him, raising his head to carefully examine the creature, his face expressing a mixture of curiosity and complexity.
Though he knew that after its transformation, the啼魂's powers were unimaginable, the fact that this creature could instantly slay a great-advance dual-headed giant bird in a single encounter still left him stunned and speechless.
Didn't this creature only effectively counteract spirits and ghosts?
Moreover, just a few days ago, he had specifically examined its condition within the Spirit Beasts' Circle—clearly showing no signs of awakening—and yet, upon the appearance of that strange bird, it suddenly stirred to life and began moving about on its own.
It was both a source of great delight and a genuine shock.
Now, however, as the啼魂 revived, its connection to his mind grew faint and intermittent, as though it had lost much of his control.
This caused him growing concern, so that now with a slightly furrowed brow, he found himself uncertain about how best to handle the creature.
Indeed, the feats he had just witnessed from the啼魂 left him deeply unsettled.
At that moment, Ti Hun, who had been gently playing with the lightning beast crystal core in his hands, suddenly tossed the core into the air. With a crisp snap, he bit it in two and swallowed it whole, then lowered his head to gaze at Han Li, his bright red eyes now shimmering with subtle, unusual light.
"Does the master have any concerns?" Ti Hun suddenly emitted a soft hum.
"Concerned? Why should I be concerned? Have you truly awakened your full intelligence?" Han Li's expression tightened, yet he remained composed, speaking calmly.
"Hmm, indeed, my mind feels significantly fuller now. Also, there's no need to hide anything from me. Even though our connection has grown weaker, I can still sense it clearly." Ti Hun smiled, stretching his lips.
"My mind feels fuller? What does that mean? Even so, what exactly are you now? Are you truly the 'Crime Beast' they described?" Han Li was momentarily stunned by the creature's words, then chuckled softly, his lips twitching with a mixture of surprise and amusement.
"This... I'm not entirely sure either! Since I've awakened from this long sleep, my mind has suddenly filled with so many things. I feel somewhat like the creatures they've described—the so-called 'Crime Beasts'—but there are still some differences. Yet one thing I can be certain of: Master, please don't worry. I believe I'm about to leave this realm very soon." After taking a deep breath, the Ti-Hun spoke words that caused a noticeable change in Han Li's expression.
