"There actually is such a thing. I've never heard of it before." Upon hearing this, Han Li's face slightly changed. "Han brother not knowing about it isn't surprising at all. Aside from the old immortals from the Sacred Island, there are probably no more than fifteen people outside of that circle who are aware of it—among them are the Three Emperors, myself, and Long the Old Immortal." The young lady in the feathered robe chuckled and replied. "But what is your purpose in telling me about this matter, Lady Immortal?" Han Li paused slightly and asked. "Well, since you've come here, I assume you're already aware of the arrival of the three founding ancestors of the demonic race. Have you ever thought about what we would do—how we would protect our people and disciples—if our two clans were to suffer a major defeat?" The young lady's eyes twinkled as she said this with a cheerful smile. "Heh, besides a few disciples, I haven't actually established my own sect or lineage, nor do I have any family members to worry about," Han Li said, flashing a smile.
"But how did I hear that among your disciples, several have already gathered a number of disciples?" the young lady in the feathered robe asked, slightly surprised.
"Oh, that's merely my junior disciple establishing his own sect. I've never interfered in the slightest. Whether they thrive or perish will depend entirely on their own fortune." Han Li smiled calmly.
"Then indeed, I must have been rather intrusive earlier." After a moment of pause, the young lady suddenly broke into a light laugh.
"Does Lady Ye truly not believe in our final battle against the demonic race? Though the demonic progenitor is formidable, with the combined strength of our several great masters, we may well be able to stand against them. Moreover, the three progenitors are so renowned—yet who has personally witnessed their might? Perhaps their powers are merely exaggerated." At this, Han Li asked back.
"Indeed, I don't think she's entirely dismissive. But the three demonic progenitors are undoubtedly far more formidable than ordinary demonic patriarchs—this is beyond doubt."
The ethereal maiden shook her head, her expression filled with concern. "Oh, the fairy says this with such certainty—she must know something." Han Li's heart stirred, yet he remained composed and asked, "By the way, Brother Han, you once saved my young niece from a life-threatening situation back then, and thus have a certain connection with the Ye family. With that in mind, I shall not hesitate to share the matter with you. How well do you know our Ye family's ancestors?" After a moment's thought, the ethereal maiden settled into a serious tone and spoke slowly. "Ah, I only know that the Ye family is one of the true spiritual lineages that has existed since ancient times. I'm not very familiar with the rest." Han Li stroked his chin and replied. "As for our Ye family's founding ancestor, I need not mention him—many of our successive ancestors have also reached the stage of Great Enlightenment."
And upon entering the stage of Great Vehicle, one of our ancestral lineages remarkably achieved an unprecedented peak in the activation of their spiritual blood, possessing extraordinary powers—so much so that they even secretly visited the demonic realm on several occasions. Hearing this, Han Li narrowed his eyes thoughtfully, but did not ask any questions, merely listening attentively. After a brief pause, the young lady continued without hesitation: "My ancestor's powers were no less remarkable; it's said that he engaged in several secret battles against the Great Vehicle practitioners of neighboring ethnic groups, always emerging victorious. However, in order to take the final step, he had to take risks and enter the demonic realm in search of several rare medicinal herbs. His earlier attempts were relatively smooth, but on his final journey, he vanished without a trace—never to be heard from again. It's likely he encountered some extraordinary peril and perished within the realm. Yet, when he departed from the clan, he left behind a confidential scripture detailing numerous matters concerning the demonic realm."
Among these, there was the incident when he personally witnessed one of the three primordial magi of the magical race engaging in a fierce battle with a true spirit within the magical realm. According to our Ye family ancestor, though he believed his own powers had not reached the level of the great human cultivators of past generations, he was certain that he could not withstand even seven or eight attacks from that primordial magus. In fact, if the opponent discovered him, his chances of escaping were no more than fifty percent. As for Ao Xiao and Mo Jianli, though their powers were profound and indomitable, they could not surpass our Ye family ancestor by much. Should they face off against a primordial magus...” The feather-dress maiden spoke here, her voice growing subdued. Though she did not finish, the implication was clear—she was not optimistic about the outcome of the battle between the two great cultivators of the human and magical realms. “Even if the primordial magus truly possessed such extraordinary power, it would not necessarily require him to engage in direct combat. As beings from another realm, arriving across the boundary into the spiritual world, their cultivation would inevitably face suppression and resistance.
After all, the spiritual realm remains our primary battlefield. I'm certain that whether it's the Holy Island or the esteemed elders like Mo Jianli, they must have developed other strategies by now. Otherwise, why would we still be engaged in conflict—once the news of the魔族's primordial ancestor reached us, they would have already organized the entire population to evacuate long ago." Upon hearing this, Han Li's expression darkened, and as he slowly spoke, his thoughts raced through various possibilities. "I think the same. If they hadn't already evacuated with the Ye family members, we would have done so as well. However, if some of the Ye family members can be protected by the Holy Island, even if our two clans suffer a major defeat, I believe the Ye lineage will not be severed." The young lady in the flowing robe spoke with calm assurance. "Then, why not have the Ye Lady directly negotiate with the Holy Island representatives instead of informing me of these matters?" Han Li found himself genuinely puzzled. "It seems you still haven't fully grasped the value of your own clan!" The young lady smiled gently. "How so?" Han Li was momentarily startled upon hearing this.
"Hm, even without this magical calamity, Brother Han, how long do you think Masters Mo Jianli and Ao Xiao could continue protecting our two clans? One of them is likely to fail in the next great celestial storm, and the other, though already a stage of Great Perfection for some time, will probably not survive several more such trials. Beyond these two elders, there are no other Great Perfection-level cultivators among our clans. Among the Consolidated cultivators remaining, who do you see still having a chance to advance to Great Perfection? As for the immortal clan, I haven't heard of any exceptionally talented Consolidated-level immortal kings emerging. On the human side, the former Sacred and Dominant Emperors had a slim chance, but now, compared to your extraordinary cultivation potential, they simply fall short. If I'm not mistaken, should our two clans face a turning point in battle, the very first priority of the Sacred Island would likely be to invite you to reside there."
"If that proves true, then even if our two clans lose our current homes, as long as a Great Transcendent cultivator appears in the years to come, we will still be able to rise again in other regions." The feather-robed young lady sighed softly. "Your words seem rather ambitious. Still, even if so, what exactly the Lady Ye meant was..." Han Li's facial expression shifted several times before his mind gradually formed a clear sense of expectation, and he asked with a hint of anticipation. "I have several junior disciples who have inherited the most purest Tian Feng bloodline from the Ye family. I would like to invite you to take them under your wing, and before the great battle, I would like to send them—along with your other disciples—to the Sacred Island. As long as Brother Han agrees to this, I will fully support you throughout our journey into the realm of the demons." The feather-robed young lady spoke with a suddenly serious demeanor. "Take them as disciples? Is Lady Ye jesting?" Han Li furrowed his brows, instinctively shaking his head in disbelief. "Of course I am not jesting."
These several disciples from the Ye family—I can guarantee that each one possesses a talent far exceeding that of an ordinary prodigy. With just a little guidance from you, they will quickly flourish and will certainly not burden Brother Han at all." The young woman spoke seriously. "Yet I have no intention of taking on any more disciples. The Lady仙 merely wishes to have some of the Ye family's disciples join the Sacred Island; why go to such lengths? If you truly believe my words will prove beneficial to the Sacred Island, I am not opposed to writing a letter to its elders, arranging my disciples and your family's disciples together on the island prior to the great battle. However, whether this actually succeeds remains to be seen. As for being the driving force behind this initiative—I believe the Lady仙 will make her own wise decisions when the time comes." Han paused, then smiled slightly, adding with deep intention. "Since Brother Han has expressed such a view, then I shall follow your suggestion. I am merely taking this precaution for the sake of security.
However, it seems my junior still lacks fortune, and thus is unable to join under my esteemed master's guidance. As for the earlier matter concerning the horse-headed figure, since I have already spoken of it, I shall certainly uphold my word. Master Han need have no concerns at all. In fact, even without that prior request, I had originally intended to follow after Master Long. "The maiden in the feathered robe flashed a sly glance. "Ah, then the Lady仙 has thus reassured me. After all, this journey should primarily revolve around Master Long." Han Li stroked his chin, a gentle smile playing at the corners of his mouth, and asked. "Hmph. Long Family has schemed against our Ye family no less than several times. I simply cannot trust that old creature of theirs. My actions today are half motivated by concern for my descendants, and the other half by the desire to be able to rely on you for mutual protection once we enter the realm of the demons. Who knows what other plots Long might have in store with those spiritual clanspeople when the time comes—I certainly don’t intend to be treated merely as a mere expendable." The maiden in the feathered robe snorted, responding without hesitation.
"Indeed, it makes perfect sense that Lady Ye would think thus. Very well, I shall inscribe a message scroll for the Lady. I believe you will be able to deliver it to your kin, and then have a noble disciple carry it, along with a token I have provided, to one of my disciples in Tianyuan City. Our journey into the demonic realm may take several years, or even decades. We might not be able to join the great battle against the demonic race upon our return." Han Li said nothing further, merely smiled and flipped his hand. A flash of luminous light appeared, and a jade scroll materialized. "I am truly grateful to Brother Han." The lady in flowing robes beamed with delight. Han Li smiled gently, said no more, and then poured out his spiritual awareness into the scroll, causing a bright green glow to surge from his hands.
