Chapter 2161: The Wood Clan's Great Battle (Five)

Back to Chapter List
Though these wooden clans had not cultivated any special techniques, they had previously fought side by side on several occasions. As soon as they moved, they launched attacks from all directions simultaneously, maintaining relentless pressure and leaving not a single gap in their assault. Suddenly, the four mid-level immaterial magic clans shifted their postures, instantly forming a circle with their backs to one another, each extending a palm outward in all directions. Though their four palms appeared light and unforced, barely exerting any pressure, a moment later a powerful gust of wind surged forth, sending out a wave of blood-tinged energy that rapidly expanded and swept outward in all directions. Within this blood-colored wave, dense clusters of dark glyphs were faintly visible, and a sharp, pervasive scent of blood filled the air. An unusual phenomenon unfolded. Whether it was the clear green glow or the individual, serpentine green threads, upon touching the blood wave, they instantly stiffened and then, at a visible pace, began to slow down and gradually dissolve. The Wood Clan members were stunned, launching anew with various flying swords and treasures soaring into the sky, forming countless shimmering halos that crashed down with tremendous force. Suddenly, the four demonic warriors appeared as one, swiftly striking out with the palms of their hands as well. A deep resonant roar erupted amid the blood-colored gusts, intensifying the bloodiness, and the embedded black runes within surged dramatically. A continuous series of thunderous booms followed! Under the shock of the blood-colored gusts, all the treasures were knocked back, rebounding like they had struck against towering mountains. The four Liangxu-level demonic warriors emitted cold snorts, and the blood-colored gusts surged forward with growing momentum. The black runes spun rapidly, gradually coalescing into distinct, varying-sized black vortices, glowing with an inner luminescence, as if intent on ensnaring the entire Wood Clan. "Move! Don't try to defend!" Fi Xi Xi, who had been intently observing the scene in the air, suddenly gasped in alarm, then raised one hand and, with a swift motion, summoned a small, translucent blade that shimmered into being. Without hesitation, she plunged it downward. A crisp "shush" echoed as a long, white blade of energy, stretching over a hundred paces, unfurled from the tip of the blade and swiftly moved to strike the surge of crimson energy waves. Though these wood-people were not of the same lineage as the young lady, should they all fall before her very eyes, she would surely face serious difficulties in explaining it upon her return. At the same time, upon hearing Fi Xi Xi's warning, the wood-people themselves were startled and hurriedly retreated. Yet two of them reacted slightly more slowly, swept up by the crimson energy waves, and their protective talismans and luminous aura were instantly extinguished. After two cries of distress, their bodies exploded, their essences absorbed and carried away by the waves. The remaining wood-people all grew pale in face. Fortunately, after the massive blade-like aura descended from the sky, a deep resonance echoed! The crimson gust of energy was severed right in two, the upper half splashing outward with a loud "thud," and the subsequent assault weakened significantly. Though the crimson energy flow was remarkably ingenious, it could not directly withstand the attack from Fei Xiao Xi, who stood one tier above them. The surviving members of the Wood Clan hurried to take refuge near the edge of the five-colored radiance, yet their faces betrayed clear signs of shock and awe. The power of the four demonic beings' Blood Kei Wu Liang Technique far exceeded the expectations of these peers. "It seems you've decided to step in personally. It's been time for that! Yet even then, the outcome remains unchanged—you will still be reduced to a fine essence, absorbed by us as we have done with the others. The Four Directions unified!" one of the Qingxu-level demonic beings exclaimed, laughing heartily. The four demons immediately pressed their hand seals simultaneously, and a vivid crimson glow suddenly burst forth between their backs, engulfing their entire bodies. Fei Xiao Xi raised her eyebrows, and without hesitation, launched a clear, translucent knife from her hand, transforming into a shimmering beam that shot out. As she shook her sleeves, a roar echoed, and two blood-red orbs followed swiftly, rushing downward. The beam flashed once, and instantly, thunder and lightning roared, with countless arcs swirling and surging, coalescing into a massive white jade blade over ten zhang long, charging fiercely toward the crimson glow below. Even before the blade truly descended, gusts of wind and lightning surged downward in a thunderous rush. Meanwhile, the two blood orbs blurred slightly, then transformed into two creatures with monkey heads and wolf bodies, emerging amidst the swirling black mist. Each possessed emerald bat wings, their bodies dripping with fresh blood, their mouths lined with sharp fangs, constantly swallowing and exhaling a serpentine core. Their crimson eyes gleamed with both cruelty and cunning—clearly intelligent beings. These two monstrous beings spread their hands and fingers wide, and instantly a series of sharp "shush-shush" sounds erupted, as sharp, frosty spines of armor shot out from their fingertips. With a single shake of their wings, they roared and plunged straight downward. Both of them had their bodies seemingly halved by this single strike. The two blood-colored fists flickered once more, then vanished entirely—seeming as though they had never appeared at all. Upon witnessing this, Fei Xiao Xi in the sky drew in a sharp breath, but immediately raised one hand, summoning the great blade back as a slender knife, while with the other hand she pressed a series of gestures toward the two wolf-headed, ape-bodied monsters. Instantly, the two creatures wobbled and regained their footing. Their once blood-soaked bodies shimmered with a cascade of bloodlight, swiftly restoring themselves to their original condition, and then roared fiercely at the glowing light below—yet dared not rush down again. At the same time, a sharp crack echoed within the blood-colored glow, and the delicate light shattered like porcelain, fragment by fragment. When all the light finally faded, a giant stood revealed in the empty space—over ten zhang tall, his entire body covered in crimson hair. This red-hair humanoid had emerald-green eyes, his face largely obscured by his long hair. Yet, upon simply clenching his fists, a series of explosive roars erupted from within him, and a terrifying aura—equal to that of a late-stage fusion—burst forth from his body, manifesting as a thick, crimson light band as wide as a bowl, spiraling and dancing continuously around his figure. The spectacle was nothing short of impressive! Under the pressure of this strange light band, the surrounding air seemed to take on tangible form, rolling outward and dispersing in waves, completely pushing away any nearby beings and rendering them unable to approach the red-hair humanoid at all. High above, Fei Xiao Xi's expression darkened, realizing that she had indeed encountered a formidable opponent. She immediately issued a command to the surrounding wood-tribe members, then, with a single hand motion, produced a fresh green array banner, which she swiftly waved toward the giant below. At once, the five-hued light halos in the surrounding void surged vigorously, and an invisible network of restrictions spread throughout the entire space. The wooden race felt their bodies suddenly grow heavy, as though a powerful force were pulling them downward, causing them to plummet directly toward the ground. Yet these wooden beings did not panic—they murmured softly to themselves, and as green light flashed across their bodies, they quickly returned to their normal state. The blood-red hairy beings below, however, merely swayed slightly before showing no further signs of disturbance. Nevertheless, the four-magic-combined giant was clearly startled and enraged by the night-fighter woman's spell, immediately roaring in fury and then slamming her fist powerfully into the sky. Instantly, a blood-colored wave, now several times more viscous than before, surged up her arm and, upon releasing it, transformed into a crimson blood-serpent that surged upward, charging directly toward Fei Xiao Xi, who was swaying and weaving with her tail. At the same time, the blood-red ribbons swirling around Mao Ren's body suddenly burst forth with a piercing, high-pitched cry, spewing out concentric rings of blood-colored mist that rolled outward, sweeping toward the wooden-tribe people. On Fei Xiao Xi's face, coldness radiated, and as her flesh wings snapped open, countless golden and silver characters emerged, solidifying into dense clusters of small golden and silver swords, which then shot downward in a sharp cry. Next, she opened her mouth and expelled a sphere of white light, within which a small tower was faintly visible. As the wind blew, the tower expanded, rising to dozens of zhang in height, and then descended with a powerful, resonant crash. The two creatures with monkey heads and wolf bodies raised their heads, emitting long, resonant howls, their fierce expressions revealing themselves as they curved their bodies into radiant blood-light orbs, spiraling before splitting apart and shooting down from either side. At the same time, the wooden-clad villagers also swiftly retreated into the five-colored light aura, using the spell's power to withstand the surging blood-colored waves while simultaneously launching fierce attacks with various treasures. ...Han Li's figure shimmered in and out within the five-colored light aura, and suddenly, as his form blurred, he vanished completely from his original spot. The next instant, in a vast, hazy space, Han Li materialized silently. He glanced forward, his expression subtly shifting. There, in the void ahead, Xie Dao stood with his hands behind his back. Nearby, two blackened, charred corpses floated motionless in the air. Beneath, scattered across the ground, were numerous holes of varying sizes, as if the battlefield had just concluded. "Brother Xie, your skill is truly remarkable—such swift success against two magi elders! I am deeply impressed," Han Li said with a light smile, praising him. "There's nothing special about it. These two magisterial beings from the demonic realm displayed their lightning and thunder techniques right before my eyes—naturally, they perished even more swiftly." The Crab Immortal replied calmly. "Regardless, with three of the demonic sovereigns now settled, let us lend a hand to our friend, the Consort. Those four cultivators at the Transcendent stage are no ordinary figures. The sooner we resolve them, the sooner we can rest easy!" Han Li chuckled, speaking with ease and indifference.
