Two semi-divine beings of the Third Sequence were guarding the main gate... Indeed, it was no surprise that this was the "Kingdom of the Giants," the realm of the ancient gods. The members of the Tarot Circle naturally felt the same sense of awe. As for Drik, the "Sun," he had been deeply struck when he first learned that two "Silver Knights" were guarding the main gate of the Giant King's court. Yet, the subsequent events that followed had made this seem utterly ordinary, and no longer stirred any emotional response in him.
"...Based on the information shared by the 'World' gentleman, we took a more concealed route and reached the rear of the 'Giants' Royal Court. Along the way, the monsters we encountered were primarily wraiths, which are effectively countered by the 'No Dark Cross.'
Upon arriving at the 'Waning Forest,' I began exploring and discovered that the malevolent spirit formed by the fusion of the Giants' lingering will and the divine power of the realm is now guarding the ancestral tombs of our parents..."
Derek, the 'Sun,' skillfully recounted the journey, while the other Tarot Circle members—Odile, the 'Justice,' and Aljer, the 'Turned Over'—quickly shifted their focus from the 'Silver Knight' guards and listened intently.
All of them were deeply intrigued by the secrets hidden within the 'Waning Forest,' eager to learn what ancient mysteries the Giants' deity had kept hidden from the Queen and the children.
Recalling that moment, Deric, the Sun, paused before speaking: "After banishing that malevolent spirit, we arrived at the tomb of the Giants' parents. There stood a stone tablet indicating the identity of the tomb's occupant, yet the tomb and the sarcophagus had long been opened—revealing the remains inside. There, there were two human skeletons..." Human skeletons? Human remains buried within the tomb of the Giants' parents? The parents of the Giants? No—there had been no religion back then. As a half-god deeply versed in esoteric knowledge, Giselle, the Hidden One, immediately suspected that these two skeletons held a different identity. Then, she remembered certain words the Queen had mentioned—questions once voiced by the great King Rosel, as if inspired or simply murmuring to herself: Why, even in ancient texts and historical records, were the Giants, the Elves, and the vampires consistently referred to as humanoid or human-like beings?
Why not call humans "giants," "elves," or "vampires"? Is it truly the case that all humanoid beings trace back to humans? Are the extraordinary traits of giants, elves, and vampires—those very qualities that can be inherited—what make them exceptional and transformed? "The Hidden One" Cadryla instantly calmed her emotions and began to seriously ponder the possible reasons. At this moment, she felt as though, upon returning to the real world, magic potions would inevitably undergo some degree of digestion. After all, the Sequence 4 path of "The Seer" is named "Mystic," and the origins of giants and humanoid beings are unquestionably profound, possessing a level of esoteric knowledge that even ordinary half-gods would never know! Could it be that the parents of the Giant King are human? That seems unlikely. "The Hangman" Aljer immediately suspected someone had staged the scene.
It's not merely something that could be accomplished by simply removing the actual bones and bringing in human corpses—suitable coffins must also be prepared so that the burial site appears not to belong to giants. Such forgery holds little practical significance and has minimal impact on reality, and Aljer finds it unlikely that anyone would go to such lengths. To have entered the "Kingdom of the Giants," subdued a powerful malevolent spirit, and approached those two burial sites—such a person must at least be a Saint, well past the age of mere trickery! Could it be true… that the primordial ancestors of humanoid beings were human? Including the Elves? Having witnessed so many astonishing events at the Tarot gathering, and experiencing a profound collapse of faith upon encountering the mural depictions on the primordial island, Aljer has not been overwhelmed with intense emotions. Yet, he finds himself instinctively reaching up, brushing his deep-blue hair. Has the Sir of the Inverted Man drawn this connection himself?
The parents of the King of the Giants were actually humans... So it seems that the majority of the currently circulating creation myths are false—deliberately composed by later generations. Yet, they contain certain metaphors as well... Mr. Moon seems particularly resistant to this development... Mr. World, on the other hand, appears to have known all along.
"Justice" Odile employs psychological skills and techniques such as reassurance, swiftly stabilizing her own state and instinctively observing the reactions of the others. At this very moment, Mr. Moon, Emlyn, is the most agitated, his mind repeatedly filled with "impossible," "this can't be true."
If the progenitors of the Giants were human, then what about the bloodline? Are we merely monsters born from extraordinary traits? Impossible—clearly, we were personally created by the Primordial One, who holds the authority over life and creation. We are fundamentally different from the wild, battle-oriented deities like the King of Giants and the King of Elves.
As Emlyn's thoughts shifted, an unexpected sense of pride in himself began to crack. His intuition, his reason, his mind all insisted that "Sun" Deric had no motive to lie about this matter, and that the likelihood of other beings fabricating the scene was low. Consequently, instinctively, he excluded the giants and elves from the category of humanoid beings, treating them instead as branches of humanity. "Stars" Leonard, "Magician" Forth, and "Judge" Tho quickly accepted the possibility hinted at in "Sun" Deric's words. To them, whether the primordial giant was a giant, a human, or even a curly-haired baboon, made little difference—merely indicating that many extraordinary beings arise from the accumulation of exceptional traits within ordinary bodies, a development that held little practical significance.
"Sol," Deric calmed himself, speaking steadily within the odd stillness. "After leaving the 'Waning Forest,' we passed through the 'Desolate Tunnel' and entered the heart of the 'Kingdom of the Giants.'... Along the way, remnants of the powers of 'Fallen' and 'Hidden' persist—correct responses must be made to proceed. ...Within the palace, there are murals imbued with the power of the 'Cycle of Fate,' which influence us, transforming us into guests attending a gathering, repeating a brief, cyclical process—the very process that establishes the 'Rose of Redemption.'"
Derek drew back his gaze, exhaled silently, and said, "The two conveners of the 'Violet of Redemption' are Sasriel, the 'Dark Angel,' and Amannexis, the 'Goddess of Night.'"
Ah? Odile, the 'Justice,' Leonard, the 'Star,' and Hoo, the 'Judgment,' momentarily found themselves questioning whether they had heard correctly.
All of them were devoted to the night, yet none had expected the goddesses to be among the members and conveners of the 'Violet of Redemption.'
It was as if one were to say that the 'Goddess of Night' herself belonged to the Tarot Circle!
Had it not been for the nature of the young 'Sun,' they would have known he wouldn't lie and would have immediately doubted the authenticity of this news. Now, for a brief moment, they were all at a loss for words, even hesitating to think further.
Alger unconsciously leaned to one side, gazing toward Deric, the "Sun," as he spoke slowly and heavily: "Participants include: 'Pure White Angel' Osecus, 'Wind Angel' Leodros..." Alger's eyes widened, and he dared not think of anything. "...'War God' Badheer, 'Earth Mother' Omibeira..." Unconsciously, Emlyn, the "Moon," who had been leaning against the back of his chair, straightened up, with only one thought echoing in his mind: "Harvest Goddess," the giant queen, Omibeira... "‘God of the Dead’ Salinger, ‘God of Spirits’ Torznar..." Deric's voice resonated again and again throughout the ancient and majestic palace, prompting members such as the "Hermit" Gardeleia and the "Magician" Forth to exchange glances, each one hesitating to speak—fearful that any further inquiry might summon divine retribution.
When Deryck had finished speaking, they remained silent, the atmosphere quiet to an almost eerie degree. Finally, the "Seer" Galadriya sighed, saying, "The 'Redeeming Rose' is truly powerful—so powerful that I could never have imagined its members to be such beings before." As soon as she finished, "The World" Germain Sparo spoke in a low, subdued voice, "It was founded to oppose the ancient solar deity, and over time, only a few of the Archangels remained."
Hearing their exchange, members of "Justice" Odile and others seemed to have just woken from a dream, instinctively turning their gaze toward the head of the weathered long table, toward the figure veiled in gray mist, as if awaiting a decision from the authority.
"The Fool" Caine had anticipated such a scene and offered no immediate response. He merely nodded, then sighed, saying, "It was thus that the 'Fallen Creator' came into being."
"Truly... truly..." The Fool had initially hinted at the profound significance of the "Roses of Redemption." What was His identity in ancient times? What role did He play in these events? Thoughts surged like a storm, sweeping through the minds of the Tarot members. "Sun" Derek glanced at them, seeing no one speaking, and thus began to recount the subsequent discoveries: "...outside the palace of the King of Giants, we encountered the leader of the 'Court Pursuers,' 'Slayer of Light' Mircan, who stated that 'Dark Angel' Salsir was asleep within that very palace." Compared to the earlier revelation concerning the "Roses of Redemption," the news that the "Dark Angel" now slumbers within the King of Giants' palace stirred only a modest sense of curiosity among "Star" Leonard and "Moon" Emlin, and did not significantly affect their emotional states.
Of course, as a "mystic," Cadrya only hoped that "The Sun" would speak a little longer. "Then we returned, and Sir 'The Fool' granted us the recipe for the 'Silver Knight' potion," concluded Drik, "The Sun," with sincere honesty at the close of the narration. "Justice" Odile and the others remained immersed in what had just happened, still trembling with a sense of divine offense, and no one offered a response—only "The Hangman" Aljere thought to ask: "Since the 'True Creator' arose from 'The Redeeming Rose,' He must be well acquainted with the events unfolding in 'The Great Hall of the Giants.' Yet why does the elder shepherd, Loviea, seem entirely unprepared for this?"
