Chapter 54: At Last, He Passed Away

Realm Walker #54 8/5/2026
Back to Chapter List
Facing the intense gazes of his teammates, Zhang Yuanqing stated his idea: “I have a Prop that can bind the Autobot and give us ample time to locate the controller.” Wang Tai, Xi Shi, and Xie Lingxi furrowed their brows. Meanwhile, Huo Mo and Qi Tian Dasheng looked puzzled: “Props? Haven’t our skills and Props been sealed?” Xi Shi smiled with her charm, explaining: “Earlier, while we were in the car, we found a card stating that we can use a Prop once.” Can they use a Prop? Huo Mo and Qi Tian Dasheng first expressed excitement, then grew concerned. The latter asked cautiously: “Are you saying you’ll use this Prop to fight the Autobot alone, buying us time?” Huo Mo recalled the Autobot’s ferocity and shook her head immediately: “This proposal isn’t reliable unless our active skills are unsealed in combination with the Prop—only then might we stand a chance against that robot.” This time, Xie Lingxi also agreed with Huo Mo, speaking softly: “Brother Wang Tai, this seems very dangerous. We’re all Realm Walkers at the Elevated Stage. The Props we’ve encountered are mostly of this level. Can an Elevated-grade Prop really defeat the Autobot?” Props are categorized by type rather than grade—though Realm Walkers know that grade is a hidden attribute. Most Props acquired during the Elevated Stage belong to this tier. Wang Tai said calmly: “This idea is quite daring. If one Prop were sufficient to resolve the danger, then why would there be such a card in the car?” He was reminding Zhang Yuanqing not to underestimate the situation and waste the card—how could an S-ranked task be so simple? Clearly, the team members found Wang Tai’s suggestion unconvincing. Yet, due to Zhang Yuanqing’s established reputation, they only offered objections without firm resistance. Ordinary Props won’t work—but Rule-type Props definitely will! Facing skepticism from his teammates, Zhang Yuanqing smiled confidently: “As seasoned Realm Walkers, do you really doubt my judgment? Don’t forget—we’re all on the same rope; I wouldn’t risk my life for nothing.” His expression was full of confidence and his tone utterly composed. At this point, Wang Tai’s consistent performance came into play—his teammates remained silent with furrowed brows, still unconvinced but no longer opposing. They either lacked Props or had only general-purpose ones. Wang Tai stopped speaking—he didn’t need to emphasize experience; he fully agreed with the latter part of what Zhang Yuanqing said. Zhang Yuanqing: “We’re running out of time—everyone, hurry and find the car keys.” The six Realm Walkers quickly acted. In the following period, Zhang Yuanqing found two keys, Xi Shi one, Qi Tian Dasheng one, and Xie Lingxi another. They each located their respective vehicles and opened them to inspect. Only in Xie Lingxi’s car was there a metallic card. The content of that card read: “You have once opportunity to transfer your resentment.” Unfortunately, the cars in the parking garage couldn’t be driven… Zhang Yuanqing sighed, then suddenly heard a loud engine sound coming from afar. Everyone reacted like startled deer, stretching their necks and turning toward the sound. At the entrance of the underground parking garage, the two-meter-tall Autobot reappeared, holding an electric saw, with bright red eyes, its chest microphone shouting: “All must die!” Xi Shi screamed: “Wang Tai…” Others rushed to the same car, opened the doors, but didn’t immediately enter—it was as if they were waiting with anticipation for Zhang Yuanqing. Zhang Yuanqing pulled out the metallic card from his pocket. “Beep—would you like to activate the inventory using this card?” “Yes!” Immediately afterward, he sensed the presence of the inventory again and quickly opened it, summoning the Divine Object—the Red Dance Shoes. A subtle crimson glow emerged, dancing gracefully before coalescing into a pair of red dance shoes in front of the unoccupied owner. “Tapping, tapping…” The fresh, elegant, and refined Red Dance Shoes swiftly circled Zhang Yuanqing, moving with an unwavering rhythm, displaying lively energy as if delighted to finally be dancing. Yet, to Xi Shi and the others, this scene appeared quite eerie. Dance shoes? A pair of dance shoes that moved on their own? It felt like a sensation—though they couldn’t explain it—there was an unmistakable chill and fear when they looked at the shoes, purely instinctual. Ah—if I hadn't been forced to, I really didn’t want to use it… Zhang Yuanqing sighed internally. Actually, upon seeing that card, his first thought had been: “The Ghost House is secure.” Though the spirits in the Ghost House were formidable, they were still spirits. The Artifact—the Fumagong Staff—contained the power of the Sun God and half a Yang essence from the Lady, making it effective against all shadows. Once inside the Ghost House, he had summoned the staff under the bright sun—then even if the ghost bride starved, she would have to sit down in disbelief, weeping: “Master, please don’t go!” Unfortunately, resolving the immediate crisis was now the priority—the underground parking garage challenge wasn't complex but exceptionally difficult. Additionally, using the Red Dance Shoes offered a bonus benefit—it intimidated the killer. If the killer ignored him and killed him outright—once such an unfortunate scenario occurred—the dance shoes would revert to their original state and pursue every Realm Walker in the room. Everyone would die together. Watching the Autobot charging toward them at high speed, Zhang Yuanqing gently said: “Go!” The Red Dance Shoes swiftly moved away. Two streaks of gentle crimson light shot like lightning, striking the Autobot’s chest with a loud “clunk,” clunk.” The steel Autobot, rushing forward with immense force, suddenly halted and slightly recoiled. This wasn’t all—then the dance shoes stepped firmly on the Autobot, delivering dense, repeated footfalls. Each step caused the mechanical body to tremble and stagger. The movement perfectly halted the robot’s progress. Furious, the Autobot waved its electric saw—but it couldn’t reach the dance shoes, which seemed to exist in a different reality altogether. Only regretfully, the Autobot’s frame was unbreakable—no matter how hard the dance shoes tried. Yet for Huo Mo and Xi Shi, this scene was nothing short of magical. “What kind of Prop is this? What kind of Prop is this?” Huo Mo exclaimed with both surprise and delight, her eyes shining with admiration. Xi Shi and others finally relaxed—watching the Red Dance Shoes, they now felt a mix of envy and longing. Given the scarcity of Props, Realm Walkers have an innate desire and hunger for powerful ones. “Don’t go into the cars yet—hurry to find the keys!” Zhang Yuanqing shouted, adding: “The cost of these shoes is that if I don’t retrieve them from my inventory within one hour, they will kill everyone indiscriminately.” Huo Mo and others’ faces tightened—those initial desires evaporated instantly. They quickly began searching. Qi Tian Dasheng reluctantly turned his gaze away from the dance shoes, thinking of its cost: “Don’t die, Wang Tai—I mean, don’t die!” If he died, then that would create another major threat—the dance shoes would become a constant danger. For the rest of this time, the Red Dance Shoes bore the responsibility of holding off the Autobot, repeatedly shielding them from threats—until after thirty minutes of continuous search, Xie Lingxi finally found the controller in one of the sedans. “Is this it? Is this it?” The girl shouted with increasing intensity. How lucky she was indeed… Everyone paused their current tasks and rushed toward her at unprecedented speed. She held a long, sleek black metallic object—similar to an older-style mobile phone—with a top antenna and a red button in the center. “Try it,” Huo Mo urged. Xie Lingxi looked at Zhang Yuanqing; seeing his nod, she pressed the red button. Everyone held their breath as they watched the robot engaged with the dance shoes. Suddenly, the towering steel figure stiffened—like power had been cut—its entire body motionless, and its red eyes dimmed. “Tapping, tapping…” The Red Dance Shoes stepped several times at the robot’s side, then stopped when it remained immobile. It paused with mild confusion before returning to tap around Zhang Yuanqing. Well, well—it’s going to find me to dance again… Zhang Yuanqing felt a deep sense of relief while subtly wincing at his lips. “Success!” Xie Lingxi cheered. Xi Shi and others breathed out deeply, their faces beaming with joy. No one had died—everyone emerged unharmed. As they prepared to express gratitude and praise to Zhang Yuanqing, suddenly they noticed the Autobot that had stopped just moments earlier—the red light in its eyes flared again, and it emitted a high-pitched engine sound, charging forward like an arrow toward them. What’s going on? Everyone’s faces changed instantly—Zhang Yuanqing jolted, shouting: “Hold it!” He issued instructions to the dance shoes once more. But it was too late—the Autobot had already passed through the dance shoes and repeated the very first scene, charging directly into the crowd, clearly targeting Xie Lingxi who held the controller. The suddenness of this development left everyone stunned—without realizing what happened, they instinctively fell to the ground, confused about why such a dramatic shift occurred. Had the controller failed? Was the mission changed—and had the controller now become ineffective? In Xie Lingxi’s eyes, she saw the high-speed steel monster approaching, heard the roar of its electric saw—her mind went blank. Then, in that very instant, she saw Wang Tai’s plain and sincere face—the intensity of determination in his gaze. Wang Tai forcefully pushed past her and collided with the electric saw himself. His body was severed by the saw, stomach organs and upper half crashing to the ground—crashing down with a loud sound, splattering blood like a vivid bloom. “I am no longer who I used to be…” the voice from the Autobot’s chest laughed wildly: “King of Demons, you have finally died—you have finally died! King of Demons, kill me now—I won’t live alone!”
