"Strategy?" Jiang Jingwei's eyes lit up as she rested her fingers on her chin, holding her posture with grace:
"Li Dongze is absolutely right—indeed, we need a strategy. After all, we are an official organization, not just some mindless Evil Organization. I have a plan in mind."
Did the Evil Organization have more brains than that? Though it seemed rather awkward, everyone thought of this phrase simultaneously.
Li Dongze asked, "You have a plan? Go on with it."
Jiang Jingwei replied, "We'll charge straight in—Tengyuan and Yuan Shi lead the charge, Guan Ya provides cover with her shooting support, while I will strike at the right moment to take them down one by one."
This strategy was excellent—and yet, surprisingly, as if no strategy had been formulated at all... Zhang Yuanqing kept thinking about Aunt Jiang, urging, "Chief, don't waste any more time!"
Li Dongze himself felt rather naive, having just now asked the Fire Master for a strategy.
He glanced around the group and spoke in an orderly manner:
"The adversaries hold hostages. We can’t charge directly—we must send someone skilled at stealth. The Night Wandering Deity. But relying solely on Yuan Shi to enter—she’ll likely be overwhelmed. Guan Ya, please contact Yuan Ting, and get him here as quickly as possible."
"Excellent!" Guan Ya pulled out her Smartphone and moved toward the side.
Li Dongze continued:
"The Night Wandering Deity’s time for stealth is limited—even if they enter the hospital, they’ll be spotted by surveillance. Therefore, Wang Tai—prepare to infiltrate the hospital's monitoring system."
Wang Tai immediately opened his Computer and began operating with rapid efficiency on his seat.
Li Dongze then looked at Jiang Jingwei and Tengyuan, saying:
"We lack stealth capabilities ourselves. We’ll stay here and draw the attention of Li Xianzong and the other perpetrators. I will personally negotiate with Li Xianzong, trying to delay time and divert his focus."
At that moment, Guan Ya hung up the phone and whispered softly, "Yuan Chief says it will take fifteen minutes."
Fifteen minutes… Li Dongze frowned, glanced at Zhang Yuanqing, and said:
"We’ll try to hold on until he arrives. Don’t rush—by yourself, you simply won’t be able to withstand those perpetrators."
Tengyuan, Wang Tai, and Jiang Jingwei all shared the same sentiment.
These perpetrators were clearly targeting Yuan Shi—their boldness was both a challenge and an intentional provocation. Given Yuan Shi’s level, entering would surely mean certain death. Though it was disheartening, it was also irrefutable reality.
Guan Ya suddenly remembered—Yuan Shi’s aunt was an intern at Ping Tai Hospital; she had mentioned this during the investigation of the Spirit Servant incident.
That explained her urgency… Guan Ya thought to herself.
Zhang Yuanqing sat quietly in the vehicle, closed his eyes without opposing Li Dongze's words—he was not convinced, yet he acknowledged the concerns of his colleagues were well-founded.
They didn’t need to rush in—this did not mean there wasn't another course of action available.
At that very moment, no one noticed a smooth, charming infant spirit swiftly moving her limbs and climbing toward the hospital, heading straight for the administrative building now occupied by the perpetrators.
"Let’s send off the little person first—to explore the path and check on Aunt Jiang…"
Zhang Yuanqing had his own plan—this was precisely where the Spirit Servant proved invaluable.
The surveillance cameras could not see her, nor could ordinary Realm Walkers sense her presence—unless one of the perpetrators happened to be a Night Wandering Deity or an Illusionist.
Such roles were exceedingly rare—not likely to happen by chance. Even if they did, Zhang Yuanqing had no concern about the little person being discovered, because it was a hospital full of abundant spiritual beings.
…
Time passed gradually—by the eighth minute, Li Dongze picked up his Walkie-Talkie and pressed the button:
"Yuan Shi is arriving now—the current rush hour traffic might slow things down—please wait another three minutes."
He repeated this three times.
Only then did Li Xianzong respond, his proud tone tinged with mockery: "Don’t play games with me anymore—kill one person every minute—I’ve made that clear. You can try to storm the hospital if you want—you’ll see whether I’m willing to blow everyone else away."
Li Dongze’s expression became serious as he set down the Walkie-Talkie and looked at Tengyuan, speaking softly:
"Prepare now—pretend to be Yuan Shi, and steady the perpetrators inside."
His earlier words weren’t meant solely for negotiations or delaying time—they were actually a test of the adversaries’ attitude.
Tengyuan Chief nodded, "Yes. Let’s change our appearances."
His dressing style leaned toward middle age. Although the identity of Yuan Shi Tian Zun was strictly confidential, he had maintained regular interactions with official Realm Walkers—there were already rumors circulating that Yuan Shi Tian Zun was a young man. In light of this, it would be wise to match his current appearance as closely as possible.
Zhang Yuanqing could only temporarily divert some of his mental energy, quickly exchanging outerwear with Tengyuan, and also handing over his cap and mask.
Li Dongze picked up the Walkie-Talkie again and spoke firmly:
"Li Xianzong—your disturbance in Songhai is specifically targeting Yuan Shi Tian Zun?"
Li Xianzong’s cheerful voice answered:
"The Large-Scale Massacre Instance is approaching—I’m relatively financially strained, so I'm borrowing others’ names to secure a few props."
It was either intentional or simply characteristic—his tone was defiant and unconcerned, as if Yuan Shi Tian Zun were merely the latest sacrificial lamb, fully challenging.
Even Zhang Yuanqing found this frustrating; Guan Ya listened with growing irritation, while Jiang Jingwei’s usually composed demeanor turned visibly agitated, her teeth slightly clenched in frustration.
Indeed—it was all for Yuan Shi… Li Dongze said no more and placed down the Walkie-Talkie.
On the other side, the little person swiftly climbed, passing through walls with ease, soon arriving at the first-floor lobby.
The lobby contained several bodies lying on the ground—dark red blood stained the floor tiles. People were huddled near elevators or counters, some weeping, others trembling, some unable to speak—they gathered in over one hundred ordinary individuals.
Two armed perpetrators moved about among them, scanning the surroundings with vigilance, occasionally patting young women with a strange, almost teasing smile.
Only two people remained at first floor—any surprise attack would easily be handled—if not an Earth Oddity, I could instantly eliminate both of them…
Did these guys really think they had already secured victory? This grand setup—intended to end their lives… Zhang Yuanqing suppressed her anger and guided the little person upward toward the second floor.
Although still a small infant with sparse hair, she moved swiftly, reaching the second-floor waiting area where dozens of hostages had gathered.
The little person didn’t pause—she continued up the stairs, heading straight for the third floor which was now empty—either evacuated to the second floor or hiding during the chaos.
Finally, the infant spirit reached the fourth floor.
In the fourth-floor waiting hall, a middle-aged man with a lean build held one gun in his left hand and a short blade in his right, scanning the crowd with cold intensity and demanding:
"Head down and crouch—anyone who refuses, I’ll blow out your heads."
The hostages complied, trembling with fear.
Aunt Jiang was not here—she wasn’t present in the hall… Zhang Yuanqing carefully scanned among the medical staff and didn't see her until suddenly a wave of screams erupted from within the maternity ward.
There were two perpetrators on the fourth floor as well—one of them was actively grabbing people inside.
Zhang Yuanqing felt a deep sense of urgency—she quickly guided the little person to move deeper into the ward.
…
In the office, hearing the outside cries, Doctor Zhao’s face turned pale and her slender body trembled uncontrollably.
"He’s come—they’ve arrived!" she exclaimed in panic.
She turned around and saw Xiao Jiang also looking pale, yet alert—she was calmly guiding her to sit down, saying:
"We’ll hide under the table."
Hiding beneath the table, Doctor Zhao felt a bit more secure, listening intently to what was happening outside, anxious to say:
"When will the security personnel arrive? Will they come at all? How long until they arrive?"
Xiao Jiang spoke softly, "Don’t worry—we’ll be saved."
Her calm tone and confident expression—though it wasn't clear where her confidence originated—did comfort Doctor Zhao.
At that very moment, the office door was violently kicked in with a loud "thump," shaking the doctor to her core as she clutched her mouth tightly.
The man at the door paused for several seconds, his voice rough: "Get out of here—I won’t hesitate to shoot you."
Doctor Zhao’s face went pale—then suddenly felt Xiao Jiang gently tap her shoulder—and as a result, she pushed herself up and emerged from under the table.
The man at the doorway was tall, with a short haircut and sharp triangular eyes, his expression aggressive.
Seeing the woman emerge from beneath the table, he paused and his triangular eyes lit up in surprise—then shouted excitedly:
"Old Xu! Look what I’ve discovered—look!"
"Found you having a baby inside?" the man outside replied gruffly.
"I’ve found an outstanding young lady," the tall man said, rubbing his short hair with enthusiasm. "Wow! There’s such a beautiful woman in this hospital—I’ve been keeping her on standby. I’ll take care of her first!"
The woman wore a white coat—her face was round and full-figured, her features refined—she looked impressive at first glance—and as one looks further, she seemed increasingly adorable, especially the tear-shaped mark on her right eye corner that added an unordinary charm to her beauty.
"How outstanding is she?" the slender man outside asked with curiosity.
"Just really outstanding," the tall man admitted—he clearly lacked cultural refinement.
Xiao Jiang… Doctor Zhao felt hopeless—how could anyone possibly save them now? Even if security personnel arrived, it would be far off in time.
She couldn’t help but lift her head and look at Xiao Jiang—the usually gentle young woman now appeared with a calm expression, no fear or panic at all.
Yet suddenly, her demeanor shifted—she stepped back, eyes filled with tears, clutching her chest, voice trembling as she pleaded:
"Please—don’t come near me…"
…
Damn it!
Outside the hospital, in the business vehicle, Zhang Yuanqing watched through the infant spirit’s perspective what unfolded inside the office.
He straightened up and spoke quickly and clearly: "Chief, Aunt Jiang is in danger—I’ll act now! I’ll hold on until Yuan Ting arrives."
Before anyone else could react, he simply vanished from everyone's view.
For a moment—like a fuse igniting—the atmosphere instantly shifted to one of intense seriousness. Li Dongze raised his hands sharply, signaling Tengyuan to enter the hospital; then gestured toward Wang Tai, preparing for the infiltration of the monitoring system.
After issuing these commands, Li Dongze pressed the Walkie-Talkie button and spoke firmly:
"He has arrived—he’s now inside the hospital—please don’t harm any hostages."
In response, Li Xianzong’s voice came through casually: "Excellent! Send him to the first-floor lobby—don’t avoid the surveillance blind spots; otherwise, I can’t guarantee the safety of the hostages."
After ending the call, in the monitoring room, Li Xianzong picked up another Walkie-Talkie and said:
"The fish is now hooked—full alert status."
The fish is now hooked—full alert status… In the maternity ward office, listening to the sound from her chest Walkie-Talkie, he frowned slightly, thought for a few seconds, then chuckled and dismissed it.
He wasn’t a subordinate of Li Xianzong—he had chosen to join in this performance simply to retaliate against society—not to specifically hunt down Yuan Shi Tian Zun.
After all, his time was limited—so why not enjoy one last moment of freedom before death?
The tall man tucked his gun into his waist and leaned forward toward Xiao Jiang, smiling: "I particularly liked your expression earlier—your fear made me feel drawn to you."
At that moment, he suddenly felt a cool sensation on his shoulder—as though something cold had pressed down.
He instinctively reached for it—but found nothing there.
Two seconds later, he lost his vision entirely.
With no hesitation, the man began randomly dodging while simultaneously directing flames to spread across him, and guiding them to grow into waves that engulfed the office—this was a defense against possible close-range attacks by unseen opponents.
Suddenly, sharp pain surged in his chest—he clearly sensed his flesh being torn apart.
This sensation he recognized well—it was caused by bullet penetration—but he hadn’t heard any gunfire at all.
The pain returned again and again—as bullets continued striking his chest, tearing through his heart.
At this point, the "blindness" that had previously affected him disappeared—he stared in astonishment toward the office desk direction—there stood a young man, with black-red streaks on his face, arms, and chest, holding a large-caliber hand gun with a dark red casing.
He stood before the doctor, shielding her from the flames, speaking calmly:
"I particularly like your current expression—you’ll be especially captivating when you’re gone."
