**Restaurant Incident No. 019**
It’s well known that Liu Guanfang’s small grocery store and the school cafeteria are hotspots for romantic "oil-squeezing" — where young men and women casually charm or flirt with one another, all gathering at these two locations. The oil-squeezers chuckle quietly to themselves; meanwhile, those being squeezed openly smile, their faces flushed with embarrassment and delight.
Inside the bustling cafeteria, people were flowing in and out, voices rising in a constant hum. By the time Lu Yun and Zhou Quan noticed it, there was hardly any open space left. Watching others engage in tender moments of affection, the two stood just outside, eyes wide, feeling as if something sharp had been scratching at their insides — like being poked by a cat, or burned by an ever-burning flame.
“What now?” Zhou Quan said, pointing to a boy who had suddenly twisted his hands around a nearby girl’s shoulders. “He’s staring at her with blank eyes, gulping down air as if he were about to cry out — and yet, all the good spots are being snatched away by that guy! What do we do? We just stand here, watching in envy?”
Lu Yun shook his head and smiled. “Don’t worry — can you really starve yourself at this point?”
“I’m not talking about hunger,” Zhou Quan replied, his voice rising with excitement. “Look over there — I know that boy. He’s from Class 2-3. Just now he pulled his hands out of a girl’s back and looked around as if searching for the next move. And here comes another one! From Class 3-1 — what was his name again? Oh, yes — Li Heixiong. *He* looks more like a bear than Li Yi, the bright star of our school. Honestly, I can’t believe how his mother managed to give birth to such a creature.”
“People simply don’t follow ordinary rules,” Lu Yun remarked. “Take me for instance: everyone thinks of me as someone who’s reserved and unromantic. Yet in reality, I’m nothing short of passionate — even if not exactly flamboyant. In fact, my personal standards? Anyone under fifty is fair game. Why fifty? Because of that famous saying: ‘At thirty, one should act like a wolf; at forty, like a tiger.’ So by the time one reaches forty, fifty becomes the baseline.”
So far, Lu Yun has only met two women older than thirteen and a half — his aunt and Liu Guanfang. That means he’s still miles away from achieving his dream of courting every woman in the world.
The revolution hasn’t yet been won — and K47 must keep working hard!
Lu Yun scanned the crowd, eyes moving across faces as if searching for potential prey. He paid little attention to Zhou Quan’s growing complaints.
“If I want meat,” he said with a sigh, “I can’t just wait for the sheep to come to me! I have to create the opportunity.”
“Right now!” Zhou Quan cried, stomping his feet impatiently. “We’ve wasted thirty minutes eating — and this little wolf won’t stand it!”
“You’re so eager,” Lu Yun replied, giving him a look of mild exasperation. “I’m not just thinking — I’m actually working on something.”
Zhou Quan knew Lu Yun was always full of clever ideas — every successful romantic pursuit had been carefully orchestrated by Lu Yun. Even once, Zhou Quan had reached into the hem of a girl’s skirt and swiftly squeezed her round cheeks with a swift, graceful motion before retreating gracefully. Since then, he’d deeply admired Lu Yun.
“Look at that girl over there,” Lu Yun said, calling out to Zhou Quan and whispering in his ear.
“What?!” Zhou Quan gasped, eyes blazing with excitement. “You’re *really* brilliant! This is exactly what we should do — just like that!”
Lu Yun sighed, shaking his head. “Are you trying to get yourself killed? You’ve been shouting so loud — everyone’s going to know you’re not a gentleman!”
Nodding in quiet admiration, Zhou Quan murmured while still glistening with saliva: “Then let’s go ahead with the plan!”
Before Lu Yun could respond, he pushed through the crowd like a determined athlete, raising his serving pot high and clanging it loudly against the floor — the sound echoing through the cafeteria.
Lu Yun smiled quietly. Such an eager young man — especially one whose father holds a prominent position in the government — must be quite unusual indeed.
Lu Yun followed close behind, heading straight toward a girl with a ponytail.
Just as Zhou Quan was about to move in, Lu Yun gave him a subtle signal, and both of them exchanged warm smiles before reaching out — ready to begin their own oil-squeezing routine.
“Wait — what are you doing? Pull your hands back!”
As soon as Lu Yun and Zhou Quan extended their arms, just before making contact, a sudden cry pierced through the crowd.
The noise instantly fell into silence.
Lu Yun froze — the sound of that voice felt so familiar.
“Hey! Just touch me once — what’s so bad about that? I’ve had plenty of guys ask to touch me over the years. I didn’t think they were any good either!”
“That’s right,” a firm, assertive male voice added. “Our Dong brother is being considerate. He sees you as someone special — so why are you acting like you’ve been violated?”
“Giving your face for something it doesn’t deserve! You’re not even trying to act like a pure, virtuous lady anymore. I’m sure you’ve had more than a few hands on you already!”
Before the assertive voice finished speaking, another voice — oddly awkward and self-conscious — added its own comments.
A stir rippled through the crowd. Some students rushed toward the exits, fleeing in fear. Within moments, dozens of young people had dispersed, leaving the scene’s central figures clearly visible.
The conversation involved three men and one woman. Lu Yun turned to follow the sound, his face blazing with an unexpected surge of anger.
He turned sharply to Zhou Quan, shouting: “Zhou Quan — dare I ask you to come with me to deal with those guys?”
Zhou Quan stared at Lu Yun, blinking in surprise. He opened his mouth to speak but was suddenly cut off.
“Dare or not? Just say it clearly,” Lu Yun insisted.
“I’ve never been afraid of anyone my whole life,” Zhou Quan replied confidently, lifting his sleeves and glaring at the three men. “Let’s go — I’ll take on each one of you like a champion in the game!”
He then turned to the girl with a broad smile, announcing: “Lu Yun! Let’s follow the TV heroes — the hero saves the beauty, and then we decide who owns her! Just like that!”
“That girl is mine,” Lu Yun said coldly. “Don’t even think about touching her.”
“Unruly!” the girl cried, eyes red with emotion. She tried hard not to cry, but her voice trembled.
“Go ahead — go tell the teacher,” Lu Yun urged one of the three men. “Even if you do, they won’t dare do anything to me. Try it and see!”
One of the three men stepped forward with a shy smile, placing his hands gently on the girl’s chest.
“But before that,” he said, “would you mind letting me give you a quick touch? Your little white rabbit — I’ve heard it’s quite soft.”
“Touch my mother!” cried the girl in protest.
“Our Dong brother,” the other two men added together with chuckles. “Let’s also give him a chance!”
Lu Yun moved forward swiftly, and with one sharp motion, slammed his serving pot against the head of the man who was reaching toward the girl.
“Oh!” The man gasped as he held his head, turning around to find the source of the impact. When he saw Lu Yun — eyes blazing with fury — he shouted in disbelief: “Who are you? A wild geyser out of nowhere? How dare you hit me?”
He turned to his two companions and called out, “You guys are completely useless! Go on — knock this guy back into his mother’s belly and give him a full rebirth!”
The two men nodded and stepped forward with fists raised.
“Hey!” Zhou Quan cried as he saw Lu Yun in danger. Without hesitation, he charged in and kicked one of the boys squarely in the crotch.
“Enough!”
The scene now buzzed with energy — the three men were on the defensive, the girl trembling between anger and surprise, while Lu Yun stood tall, commanding the moment.
