The Tale of the Third Spring

Back to Chapter List
Rumble, rumble, rumble—rumbly, rumbly, rumbly! Rumble for health, rumble to be strong. Rumble, rumble, rumble—rumbly like a flock of birds on full charge, rumbly and now we’re switching from bird guns to steel cannons! Rumble, rumble, rumble—rumbly like golden eggs, rumbly and now I’m shooting sugar syrup with one eye open! Rumble, rumble… Liu Yun, the most stylish and refined of all, hummed a little melody he’d composed himself—only in his heart. He certainly wouldn’t dare sing it out loud before Liang Hongyu, not even if she were to burst into flames. “Liu Yun,” Liang Hongyu said, her voice growing more urgent with each passing moment, “why hasn’t it gone down yet? Is the method wrong? You must go see a doctor right away!” After trying for quite some time, and seeing absolutely no improvement at all, she finally grew impatient. “Almost there,” Liu Yun replied, “just slow your pace—speed up, and it will start to ease soon.” She looked confused—how could the gun be fully charged yet suddenly go quiet? How could a bullet go nowhere mid-flight? Liang Hongyu didn’t understand Liu Yun’s inner thoughts. She nodded in agreement, then automatically increased her movements, hands now working faster than ever before. “Team leader,” Liu Yun said with rising excitement, “just keep going—soon it will start to subside.” As Liang Hongyu saw Liu Yun's body tense like a spear about to launch, she realized this was the moment of critical importance—though still unsure exactly why. Still, she followed Liu Yun’s instructions without hesitation, even as her hands grew stiff and sore. “Team leader,” Liang Hongyu said in alarm, “it’s going to subside now!” Liang Hongyu was startled by how straight Liu Yun had become. Without thinking, she leaned forward, head tucked close, full of concern: “Liu Yun—what about you? Are you all right?” “Fine… fine,” Liu Yun replied, breathless, as he looked down and saw Liang Hongyu’s flushed cheeks. His face turned crimson with embarrassment. Liang Hongyu grew more tense, unconsciously applying even more pressure to her hands. Liu Yun had already reached the moment of crisis—then a deep hum escaped him. With a sudden burst of energy, he opened his mouth and unleashed a steady stream of white foam like a machine gun firing in rapid succession. Oh! Liang Hongyu gasped, thinking Liu Yun must have started urinating. She quickly turned to avoid the incident—but with such close proximity and such abruptness, it was impossible to escape completely. “Liu Yun,” she said, indignant, “you never even said you were going to pee!” With a rustle of paper, Liang Hongyu blushed deeply and swiftly opened her desk drawer, tearing out several sheets which she used to wipe the foam off her face as quickly as possible. Liu Yun breathed out slowly, feeling completely relaxed. He watched as Liang Hongyu hurriedly wiped herself, then smiled cheerfully. “Team leader,” he said, “see? I didn’t lie—now it’s actually gone down.” Though embarrassed, Liang Hongyu still turned to check and indeed saw that his swelling had eased significantly. She finally breathed a sigh of relief. After all, Liu Yun was safe. After tidying up, she took a deep sniff—the air carried an odd scent. She shot Land Yun a look before getting up. “Now that you’re okay, I’ll go wash my face.” Liu Yun chuckled. “Team leader, what you just released is one of the most precious things in men’s bodies—there was even a medical text I read about it. It claims this has beautifying effects on women.” “Nonsense!” Liang Hongyu blushed furiously, then spat out with a sharp tone. “Don’t think I’m clueless! What you just sprayed out—it’s the very thing men and women use to have babies. How could I possibly believe that?” Liu Yun carefully tucked his still drooping bird back into its nest and adjusted himself slightly. “Then I’ll leave it at that—just try your face. See if it feels any fresher than before.” Beauty is a common pursuit, especially among women. Even though Liang Hongyu didn’t believe Liu Yun’s words, she couldn’t help but reach out to touch her own face. And strangely enough, as she did, she truly felt that her skin looked more radiant than it had before. Could Liu Yun really be right? As she recalled the scene of gently pressing on his body earlier, a warm glow spread across her cheeks—she lowered her head and walked silently past him without speaking, leaving the classroom. Liu Yun watched her slender silhouette disappear down the corridor, then laughed lightly, relaxed now, though tiredness began to settle in. He curled his arms under his head and fell asleep on his desk with a soft snore. As he slept deeply, he suddenly sensed someone calling out his name—then lifted his head only to find Ms. Liu Yun, the wife of Zhang Yi—the black bear of the canteen—standing there beside him. “Sister,” he said, “what’s this about?” Liu Yun smiled gently and took his hand, leading them outside the classroom through the small forest just outside campus—right to where Liu Yun had once wanted to eat with Lu Xiaoying. “But this dark place isn’t exactly conducive to a proper chat, is it?” Liu Yun said, trying to lighten the mood. “If Zhang Yi sees you and I together, he’ll surely storm off at me again.” Liu Yun remained silent, her eyes softly glistening, with an intimate smile on her lips. She chuckled lightly: “Why would I have called you here otherwise? Didn’t you promise me something?” Liu Yun suddenly snapped awake—remembering the little matter she had promised them. Her bird, still asleep in its nest, was too weary to attend to her now. Unaware of what just happened, Liu Yun’s graceful body instantly wrapped itself around Liu Yun like a snake. Liu Yun felt completely flustered and speechless—the bird that had just returned from resting suddenly took flight again… ... Rural Blossom No. 035 – Updated!
