Chapter 1463: Fury
"Stop! Stop!" Two powerful punches landed squarely on his face, and Iron Niu was writhing in pain, tears and nosebleeds streaming down. He could no longer bear it and finally begged for mercy.
"Who is the fool?" Land Yun asked coldly after securing the advantage.
"I am. I'm the fool. I've been overlooked—didn't recognize you as someone of stature—and I've offended you. Please, stop! If you keep hitting me, my head will split open." Iron Niu's tone had softened now. For the first time, he truly understood what a powerful punch was—this one was far more forceful than any seventeen or eighteen punches he'd ever taken during village brawls.
Watching the man who had once been so fierce and unyielding now reduced to a wimp, Chun Ni'er felt furious. How could her parents have married her to someone like this?
Thinking about spending the rest of her life with Iron Niu, she felt utterly adrift, wondering what hardships lay ahead after the wedding.
Thinking thus, Chun Nier could no longer hold back her tears, two clear streams flowing down her cheeks. When Lu Yun saw Chun Nier crying, he assumed she was moved by sympathy for Tien Niu and quickly loosened his grip. Yet he did not ease his watchfulness over Tien Niu—such a strong man, if not careful, might easily protect himself and render Lu Yun injured despite his current surge of strength. As he released Tien Niu, he stepped closer to Chun Nier, saying, "Big fellow, for her sake, I'll forgive you today. If you dare to attack me, I'll make sure you won't recognize your own parents." Tien Niu quickly replied, "Brother, please rest assured—I'll never lay a hand on you again." After all, having just taken two solid punches, even if he were as impetuous as he was, he now knew he was no match for this young man, and certainly wouldn't dare to attack Lu Yun again.
Yet, although Iron-Ni knew he wasn't Land Yun's match, if he couldn't defeat Land Yun, how could he not vent his frustration on Chun Ni'er? No matter Chun Ni'er's willingness or not, soon enough she would become his wife. It was only natural to direct his anger at his own woman—after all, that was something no one else could blame him for. With this thought in mind, Iron-Ni pushed himself up from the ground, glanced at Chun Ni'er, and saw the curves of her body, which stirred a pleasant warmth within him. He began to imagine that after marrying her, every day he would devote his energy to the woman just a few steps away, and surely, he would not let her live long. "Chun Ni'er, let's go," said Iron-Ni gently to her, his demeanor now calm and composed thanks to Land Yun's presence beside them. "You go ahead. I'll head down to the fields to work shortly."
"Chun Nier said something lukewarm, expressing little goodwill toward the man before her. She had a vague feeling that Tien Niu would be a violent type—marrying him would surely mean a tough life for herself. Tien Niu was met with a firm but not warm reception, sighed, and gave a reluctant, slightly disappointed smile. In his heart, however, he had already mentally tormented Chun Nier a thousand times over. With a sigh, he said, "Very well, I'll go take a pee." And with that, he stepped into the brick kiln.
"Before he could finish speaking, Chunni'er, who had rushed into the brick kiln, suddenly stopped mid-motion and collapsed onto the ground. "Chunni'er, you've been cheating on me behind my back!" Iron Cattle's broad, strong figure now stood outside the brick kiln, holding a wad of tissue paper in his hands, shouting loudly at the now-sagging Chunni'er. "I haven't," Chunni'er weakly protested. "Not cheating? What's this?" Iron Cattle tossed the tissue paper right in front of her, his eyes blazing with anger as he stared at his unmarried wife. "I... I've just started my period." "Nonsense! You said you were having your period last week. Now you're saying it again? Are you trying to fool me like I'm a three-year-old child?" Iron Cattle stepped forward and lifted Chunni'er right off the ground, his yellowed teeth flashing as if he wanted to swallow her whole. With his free hand, he gave her a solid slap as he spoke.
This time, Lu Yun didn't have time to intervene, so the Iron Bull dealt a solid slap right across Chun Ni'er's face. "Lowly woman! You dare wear a green hat on me? I'll have you wiped out, family and all!" After delivering the slap, Iron Bull pushed Chun Ni'er to the ground and strode purposefully toward Lu Yun, shouting angrily the whole way, "You little brat—how dare you play with my woman? Today, I'm not killing you, I'm making you disappear!"
By the time Lu Yun heard the exchange between Iron Bull and Chun Ni'er, he had a clear sense of what had happened—Iron Bull must have seen Chun Ni'er wiping up blood from her lower area with a tissue while he was using the restroom, which led him to believe that Lu Yun and Chun Ni'er had been involved.
A man simply couldn't bear such things, let alone someone as fiery-tempered as Tie Niu. He strode straight toward Lu Yun, bending down halfway to pick up a thick pole, as wide as a man's wrist. Though he couldn't hold his own against Lu Yun with his bare hands, now that he had a weapon, he charged with renewed courage, determined to crush Lu Yun's head like a flower.
What a damn pity!
Lu Yun silently cursed under his breath, facing Tie Niu charging at him with unwavering composure.
"Black giant, when in my life have I ever played with your women? If you keep dragging your feet and making up excuses, don't blame me for being merciless." Lu Yun said with a cold smile.
"By the gods, I'm done!" Tie Niu had completely lost his temper, rushing straight to Lu Yun and cutting him no chance to explain. He swung his arm, hurling the pole straight at Lu Yun.
"Give me the face and then act like you don't have one."
"If Chunni had told Tieniao about Lu Yun watching her, Tieniao would have been so furious that Lu Yun would have felt some sense of guilt. But now that Tieniao has accused Lu Yun of a completely fabricated offense, Lu Yun feels not the slightest regret. He sidesteps swiftly, dodging the blow aimed at his head, then advances with a padded step, charging straight into Tieniao's chest. Thud! A powerful elbow strikes Tieniao's chest, sending him a low grunt and staggering back. 'Big guy, I've never played around with your woman! If you keep clinging to me like this, I'll cut you to pieces!' Lu Yun erupts in anger—being accused of something so entirely unjustified makes even a mud-statue feel hot-tempered. 'For heaven's sake!'
The iron bull had firmly decided that Chun Nini had been unfaithful, and even more specifically, that the man she had cheated on was precisely the handsome and well-featured Lu Yun standing before him. Though Lu Yun’s elbow strike had pressed against his chest, making it feel tight and suffocating, the fierce anger within him continued to burn fiercely. He simply wouldn’t listen to Lu Yun’s words. At this moment, all he could think about was to knock the young man—whom he accused of cheating on his wife—senseless with a single blow.
