Several days later, one afternoon, Han Li quietly slipped out of Shenshou Valley to meet Li Feiyu. In truth, it wasn't exactly a secret outing—Dr. Mo had long been aware of Han Li's frequent visits outside the valley, yet he never interfered, allowing Han Li complete freedom to enter and exit. At first, Han Li found this hands-off approach somewhat unsettling, unsure of Dr. Mo's intentions. But after several uneventful visits, he realized that no one was following him, and thus grew reassured, going about his affairs with greater ease and confidence. After a period of careful reflection, Han Li gradually began to understand the reasons behind Dr. Mo's leniency. Dr. Mo's patient tolerance toward Han Li was not without its own motivations. Although he had secured Han Li's loyalty through the "Shi Chong Pill" and the lives of his family members—two powerful constraints—he knew that such an abrupt and forceful method of control would surely leave Han Li resentful, and unwilling to devote himself fully to his cultivation.
If one continues to restrict the other's freedom of movement within the human body, it will certainly work against the intended outcome. After all, Doctor Mo's original intention was to encourage the other to actively and willingly cultivate the Ever-Young Power, rather than bind him and force him to do so against his will. Upon fully understanding the circumstances, Han Li grew bolder. Previously, he had needed to slightly avoid Doctor Mo's sight, moving in and out of the valley with caution, often going quietly. Now, however, he became more decisive—saying nothing at all, simply walking confidently past him. On the surface, Han Li appeared carefree and completely indifferent, but in reality, he still maintained a careful and cautious demeanor. As soon as he stepped outside the valley, he began to employ the Ever-Young Power, elevating his senses of hearing, sight, and touch to an extraordinary level, bringing every movable object within dozens of zhang under his control. Han Li believed that even if Doctor Mo personally came to observe, he would inevitably be detected by Han Li's keen sense of touch.
He might not be strong in direct confrontation, but when it came to mastering the use of his five senses, he was absolutely confident. Along the way, Han Li carefully avoided the patrol disciples, making his way through the secret passage hidden within the old locust tree, and climbed into the area near the small pond where they had last met. As soon as he entered, he saw Li Feiyu sitting by the edge of the pond, his bare feet resting in the cool water. He was gently tapping the surface of the water with his feet, producing a rhythmic "plink, plink" sound and sending out colorful droplets that splashed in all directions, clearly enjoying himself. Upon hearing Han Li's approach, Li Feiyu didn't even lift his head, simply complaining, "Han brother, you're coming later and later. Every time I have to wait for hours. Can't you come a little earlier sometime?" "I'm sorry," Han Li said, brushing off the dust from his clothes, just about to explain. "Next."
Li Feiyu didn't wait for Han Li to finish speaking, and instead tossed directly toward him the large bundle hidden behind his back. "What is this? Some delicious food?" Han Li was rather puzzled, but then he noticed the bundle was hard and quite heavy—definitely not something edible. "You always know how to eat! Didn't I ask you to bring the scroll of the Blinking Sword Technique?" Li Feiyu gave him a sharp look, then spoke seriously. "Is this the scroll? Are you sure? Didn't you accidentally put your courtyard's stone for sharpening swords inside?" Han Li stared at the massive object on his forearm, clearly unconvinced. "It's so heavy!" He strained with both arms, trying to lift it, and nearly knocked himself off balance. "Ha ha!" Li Feiyu couldn't hold back any longer, broke into loud laughter, and eventually rolled around on the ground, covered in grass clippings and soil.
Han Li glanced skeptically at his companion's odd behavior and then at the enormous package. "Thud!" He gently kicked the package with his foot, and it truly seemed to feel like a book. Ignoring his friend, now beaming with delight, Han Li stroked his chin, pushed his bottom out, and crouched beside the package. To him, guessing about something whose outcome he could immediately know was a pointless waste of mental energy. Two clean, white hands rested on the package's tight knot, and the ten fingers then subtly jumped, creating a blurred shadow that danced across the surface—miraculously, the tightly tied knot loosened. "Clap! Clap!" A crisp round of applause rang out. Han Li did not immediately lift the package; instead, he turned to look at his friend who had just been laughing heartily. By now, Li Feiyu had stopped laughing and had already put on his shoes.
Now, clapping his hands vigorously, he's giving him enthusiastic applause, seemingly oblivious to the flushed palms.
"Wow! Every time I see you master the 'Winding Palm' technique so brilliantly, I'm utterly amazed. It seems as though this martial art was specifically crafted for you. Since I first taught you, it's only been just two months!" Li Feiyu continues clapping, still murmuring his praise.
"Did you really bring this big bundle just to have me perform?" Han Li said with a sigh.
"Of course not. Once you open it, everything will become clear," Li Feiyu said, putting down his playful expression and adopting a serious tone.
Noticing his sudden shift in demeanor, Han Li felt a growing curiosity, turning his head back to focus once again on the bundle before him.
Wobbling his head slightly, he extended his index and middle fingers, gently lifting a corner of the wrapping and pulling it outward, revealing the object inside completely.
"This...," said Han Li, a dense layer of cold sweat suddenly breaking out on his forehead, his eyes nearly bulging.
"How about you? Not much surprised, I hope?" Li Feiyu slowly approached, patting his shoulder.
Han Li remained motionless, turning his body straight to face him, silent for a long while.
"What's the matter with you? Looking at me like that? I'm not going to make a romantic commitment just because of it," Li Feiyu teased, smiling playfully.
Only after hearing this light remark did Han Li seem to snap back to awareness.
"I'm cutting you off from me now. From this day on, I'll treat you as if I've never met you, and you've never seen me at all," Han Li exclaimed, growing increasingly angry.
"I either see things wrong or you've gone mad—you've moved half of the Seven-Excellence Hall's collection right here! If the patrol guardians discover this, we'll never make it out alive." Han Li pointed at the pile of various scrolls and codices before him, shouting at Li Feiyu. On the upper left corner of each book cover, the bold characters "Seven-Excellence Hall Collection" were neatly circled in calligraphy.
