Chapter Four Hundred and Ninety-Two: Qián Lán Pearl

返回章节列表
Seeing the power of the Shura Flame unfold, Han Li's face changed several times. However, after the gray-white flame had completely consumed the Xuan Gu, it re-coalesced into small sparks that gently floated around. At that moment, seemingly due to the death of Xuan Gu, a strange transformation occurred—every spark descending simultaneously exhaled a surge of black-green energy. Then, as fine threads of black electric arcs flashed, the sparks instantly turned blue, reverting to their original form as the Dry Blue Ice Flame. Instantly, Han Li felt a sudden pressure around him, as the entire space filled with a subtle blue coldness. A wave of icy chill washed over him, and thin layers of transparent ice began forming on his body, as if the entire light shield were about to be completely sealed in ice. Han Li was utterly startled! He immediately poured a surge of spiritual energy into the Lingxi Array, and the intense white light pushed the surrounding cold air back, keeping it at least half a foot away from him. Yet, without Xuan Gu's control, the Qianlan Ice Flame truly unleashed its full power. In this brief span of time, the entire high platform had frozen solid into a massive ice mountain, with Han Li desperately holding back with the white glow emanating from his body. However, the rapid depletion of his inner energy was proving increasingly burdensome. Now Han Li realized that, due to Xuan Gu's insufficient cultivation or because the flame had not yet been fully refined, the Qianlan Ice Flame had only manifested a fraction of its true strength during its attack. If the flame had displayed such overwhelming power from the very beginning, Xuan Gu would have had no need to merge it with the Shouluo Holy Flame—she would have easily extinguished him several times over. Thus, it was clear that the Shouluo Holy Flame, being even more potent, must have also been suppressing its true potential, revealing only a small portion of its might. With a moment of thoughtful reflection, Han Li swiftly grasped the essence of the situation. Yet, after finally defeating Xuan Gu, he would be so unfairly extinguished by the now-unclaimed Qinglan Ice Flame? With a firm jaw, Han Li pressed his hand against the spirit beast pouch at his waist. This pouch could hold tens of thousands of Gold-Eating Insects. At this moment, he could only rely on these insects' ability to consume and hope to make it out alive through sheer luck. Regardless of whether he succeeded in escaping, these insects, still far from fully evolved, would surely be unable to withstand such extreme cold—any slip, and they would all perish. But now, for his own life, Han Li could no longer afford to think about such matters. As he moved his hand, intending to open the pouch, another unexpected development occurred. The Qinglan Ice Flames floating around him suddenly flashed several times, then emitted a clear, resonant sound, as if receiving a command—each flame began rising toward the sky, eventually coalescing and merging into a single, unified mass. A luminous, bluish orb soon floated into the air. Within this luminous sphere, a blue ice orb the size of a clenched fist appeared. The cold mountain air that had previously filled the platform vanished instantly, dissolving completely as if it had never existed. Han Li, who had already opened half of the spirit beast bag, was momentarily stunned, then brightened with surprise. He didn't care about the strange transformation of the Dry Blue Ice Flame—this was a lifeline that had saved him! Now, the blue ice orb slowly descended from the sky, passing directly in front of Han Li. Han Li gazed at the orb, his eyes flashing with astonishment, his face settling into a thoughtful expression. Suddenly, he raised his hand, and a slender electric arc remaining within him shot out from his palm, instantly wrapping around the orb and gently slowing its descent. The ice orb remained unchanged, steadily being drawn along by the electric arc. Seeing this, Han Li's expression grew serious, showing not the slightest sign of care or hesitation. With a careful flick of his wrist, a golden arc of energy drew the ice droplet slowly toward him. Before him, the sphere halted just a foot away, and Han Lin hesitated slightly. He extended his hand with solemnity, enveloping the entire palm in a solid layer of green light, then cautiously reached forward to grasp it. Though separated by a thick layer of true energy, Han Lin clearly sensed a coolness—yet not at all icy, as though the intensely cold blue flame had fully contained and preserved its chill upon coalescing into this sphere. Only then did he feel truly at ease. He withdrew the true energy, held the sphere between three fingers, and examined it closely. The blue orb had a pale, firm outer layer, yet within, the light flames flickered restlessly, indicating a certain instability. Han Lin paused, for this dry blue flame was a rare treasure indeed, possibly even one of the hidden gems atop the Virtual Heaven Cauldron. Though he currently had no idea how to utilize or refine this ice-flame, he absolutely could not abandon it. After having previously witnessed the sharp power of several magical flame secrets—such as the "Qingyang Demon Fire" and the "Tiandu Corpse Fire"—he had long harbored a quiet hope of possessing another formidable magical flame. The strength of this Qianlan Ice-Flame, he had seen firsthand, and it was clearly far superior to those two. Such a gift, offering him the very fulfillment of his long-held desire, he could not possibly refuse—even if it meant taking a slight risk. With this thought in mind, the faint golden arcs in his hands surged forth once more, and one after another, delicate filaments of electricity wrapped around the ice droplet, layer upon layer. A golden-threaded sphere eventually formed in his hands, though small flashes of electricity continually danced upon its surface. Only then did he feel truly at ease. After his previous encounters with this ice and flame, he now knew that the Divine Exorcising Thunder could only barely contain this fire. Should this ice sphere burst again, the network of lightning arcs from the Divine Exorcising Thunder could temporarily restrain him, buying him some time—there was no need to fear a sudden reversal from the Dry Blue Ice Spheres. Yet now, the Divine Exorcising Thunder within him had completely vanished; not even a single arc of electricity could be projected. Nevertheless, Han Li paid no mind to this. With a look of excitement, he retrieved a square jade box from his storage pouch, carefully placed the sphere inside, and sealed it securely. Only then did he have the opportunity to fly over the altar, retrieving the blood jade spider, now severely depleted in vital energy, and placing it into his spirit beast bag. The other spider, which had been transformed back into a corpse, lay motionless! However, as Han Li passed over the site where the玄bone had been annihilated, his form momentarily halted. He looked surprised, extended his hand, and summoned a small object glowing faintly white from the ground, which then flew into his hand. This object was as pure and white as jade, only a few inches long. Han Li glanced at it briefly and immediately recognized it as a small section of rib bone. Yet, surprisingly, the rib bone had not been reduced to ash by the Shou Luo Holy Fire—it had remained intact, which astonished Han Li. He suddenly recalled, from the day he had been in the underground cavern, how Xuan Gu Magistrate had extracted the "Xitian Residual Map" from a section of rib bone. "Could this rib bone also be storing something?" The thought formed in his mind, and without further hesitation, Han Li placed it back into his storage bag. At this moment, it was not the time to carefully examine it; he needed to act swiftly and make a timely retreat. As Han Li prepared to fly toward the stone steps, he glanced sideways and noticed the emerald-colored arrow, standing motionless several zhang away, as if completely lifeless. Han Li furrowed his brow, then raised his hand, sending a sheet of green light that instantly enveloped the artifact and drew it into his palm. After casually glancing at the treasure, just as Han Li was about to place it into his satchel, a strange, hissing sound suddenly erupted from one of the spiritual beast pouches at his waist. Han Li's eyes widened slightly, a curious expression forming on his face. Frowning intently, he then suddenly struck the pouch with a firm palm, and a beam of yellow light shot out, spiraling before revealing the form of a small monkey—none other than the Ti Hu Shen, the beast capable of devouring souls and ghosts. At the same time, Han Li opened his mouth and expelled a gray-black orb, which landed into the palm of another hand—the "Ming Hún Pearl," the one that had previously controlled the Ti Hu Shen. Initially, Han Li had found the way Yuan Yao had handed him this pearl rather odd, and thus had never truly begun to refine it. Yet, he now found it easy to erase the spiritual awareness of the other person from the pearl and use it temporarily to command the Ti Hu Shen. Holding the Minghun Pearl tightly in his hands and fixing his gaze intently on the small green arrow, Han Li suddenly opened his mouth, and a cluster of jade-colored pill flames instantly enveloped the arrow, beginning to slowly burn it. Yet after a few moments passed, the arrow showed no response at all, as if lifeless. A flash of cold light flashed in Han Li's eyes. He licked his lips and then tossed the arrow into the air, giving a quiet command to the Ti-Hun beast. Instantly, the Ti-Hun beast snorted, and a wave of golden-hued light shot forth, sweeping toward the arrow in the air. The previously motionless arrow, upon encountering the golden light, suddenly flashed with intense green glimmers several times, then emitted a sharp cry, transforming into a streak of emerald light and shooting straight toward the stone steps. It seemed utterly terrified of that golden light!
