Chapter 1292: Huangliang Lingjun

返回章节列表
Han Li went from shop to shop, carefully inspecting the spiritual supplies and materials, but after visiting seven or eight, he stopped this fruitless endeavor. The materials offered were certainly not bad—some even qualified as true masterpieces. Yet, given Han Li’s current state, where the Diamond Resolution was rapidly nearing completion, how could he possibly find these materials appealing? Even if he used them, the spiritual artifacts crafted with care would still fall short of the golden dragon sword he had originally left for Fan Zao. They would serve him only modestly. "So, Han brother, you're not impressed with what we have here?" Tian Xing, standing beside him, was clearly attuned to his demeanor and promptly asked. "These materials aren't particularly useful to me," Han Li shook his head, openly expressing his disappointment. "If you're not interested in any of these, then let's go to another place instead. There, we often find special items—though I can't guarantee that what you're looking for will definitely be there." "Tian Xing truly deserves his status as the local power broker—within moments, he has already proposed another location." "Hmm, let's go take a look," Han Li said, his interest instantly piqued. So the two left the street and hailed a beast-car within the city, preparing to board and depart. But just as Han Li was about to step onto the vehicle, a roar of dragon's voice suddenly echoed from the sky, followed swiftly by a deep, thunderous roar reminiscent of a tiger's cry! The two sounds intertwined and surged, spreading across the entire sky above, causing a stir among the commoners and cultivators below. Han Li turned his gaze toward the horizon where the sounds originated. There, a dark speck was speeding toward them at incredible velocity, and in a moment's time, it reached directly above Han Li and his companions. It was a strange creature with three heads—one tiger's head and one dragon's head—two heads in total—pulling a pale green flying chariot that swiftly glided past the sky, its dragon and tiger roars fading into the distance. "Even the Huangliang Spiritual Sovereign has left her abode! What could have happened?" "Master Huangliang. Who exactly is this person?" Han Li asked. At hearing Han Li's question, Tian Xing was momentarily startled, then stared at him with a rather strange expression. "Is it possible that my face has suddenly blossomed?" Han Li flashed a smile and chuckled. "It seems, then, that Master Han has come from a very distant place." "Why do you say that? Is this person well known in the city of Luoyi?" Han Li furrowed his brows. "Our city's city magistrate is a cultivator at the Wushen stage, but our foremost cultivator here is not him. Rather, it is Master Huangliang, who has resided in a nearby mountain for ten thousand years. It is said he has already passed the Five Elements Unification stage and is now a cultivator at the Lianxu initial stage." Tian Xing enthusiastically explained. "Lianxu initial stage!" Han Li's eyes widened in astonishment. Back when he himself was a Wushen initial cultivator, he had clearly understood the vast difference between the Wushen and Lianxu stages. Over these decades in the spiritual realm, cultivators at the Hé Tǐ The Three Emperors themselves had merely reached the peak of the Consolidated Body Stage. Yet, over the past十余 thousand years, there had been no record of any action on their part. Thus, in the eyes of ordinary people, cultivators at the Transcendent Stage had effectively become the highest representation of the human race. From other cultivators and common folk, he had never heard of any tales concerning cultivators at the Great Perfection or the Stage of Journeying Through the Trials. It seemed as though such apex human beings had never appeared in the spiritual realm at all. Of course, it was also possible that his own level of exposure was still limited, preventing him from accessing such information. After boarding the beast carriage, Tian Xing enthusiastically shared with Han Li various details about the Yellow Rice Immortal, mainly emphasizing his remarkable achievements and reputation. Han Li only smiled slightly, offering no further comment. The carriage then raced through the city for several hours before finally coming to a sudden halt on a previously unfamiliar street, stopping abruptly at its end. Han Li stepped down from the carriage and scanned the surroundings, immediately spotting a seemingly substantial shop. This shop was no ordinary one. Its entrance was grand and adorned with striking golden powder, bearing a large sign inscribed with the characters "Qiongyu Pavilion." At either side of the entrance stood two iron pillars, each about ten feet long, upon which silver chains were fastened to two strange creatures resembling red, lizard-like beasts. As Han Li stepped down from the carriage, these two creatures instantly rose to their feet, fixing their small eyes intently on him with an expression of displeasure. "Go!" Tian Xing, following closely behind Han Li, saw the creatures approach but remained undisturbed. He produced a pale yellow plaque and waved it gently at the two beasts. At once, the creatures emitted a few low growls and then lazily settled back onto the ground, motionless. The two passed through between the creatures. Inside, Han Li's brow subtly furrowed. It was merely a simple room, about six or seven zhang in size. Though there were several items arranged around it like shelves, they were all empty—nothing on them. In one corner stood a staircase, near which a wooden chair was placed. An elderly man with a yellowish complexion and a sunken nose sat in it, slightly drowsy, as if completely unaware of the guests' arrival. "Master Xu! Wake up—here are some visitors I've brought!" Tian Xing approached without hesitation, grabbed the man's shoulder, and shook him vigorously. "Where are the guests?" The old man opened his blurry eyes, still appearing half-asleep. "I heard your shop has some unique items. I've come to take a look," Han Li said, calmly observing the man who seemed to be the store's manager. "If the guests are seeking something special, that's easy—our shop specializes in acquiring unusual items and selling them to those who need them. What kind of item would the guests like?" The manager glanced at Han Li, paused for a moment, and then finally broke into a smile. "Materials for spiritual artifacts," Han Li said calmly. "Hm, not many people need such materials. Yet, we actually have two such items here. I'll fetch them right away," the manager added, smiling and turning to head up the stairs, stepping briskly upward. Tian Xing smiled slightly, just about to ask Han Li how he had identified this "Xu Elder" when suddenly a low roar came from outside, followed by a clear, sharp command: "You brute! Do you intend to die?" Two heavy thuds of impact, and the sound of something heavy crashing to the ground, reached their ears. Han Li and Tian Xing both turned in surprise, to find a man and a woman walking in through the main gate. The two strange beasts at the entrance lay motionless, their backs pressed firmly to the ground. Tian Xing was startled at first, but then noticed that the beasts were still emitting soft, mournful murmurs, which eased his concern. Han Li, however, focused his attention on the couple who had just entered. Both were young— the man was handsome and dignified, the woman graceful and beautiful, truly embodying the image of a golden youth and jade maiden. Their spiritual aura was strong, indicating they were likely cultivators at the Jie Dan stage. To Han Li's eye, it was immediately clear that they were genuinely young, both in appearance and essence. Though the spiritual realm is rich in spiritual energy, abounding in mid-to-high level spiritual stones and rare natural treasures, making it far easier for cultivators to achieve foundational and condensed stages compared to the human realm, it still comes as a great surprise that two such young individuals have already reached such attainments. "Are you both staff members here?" The man immediately spotted Han Li and Tian Xing. After briefly scanning Tian Xing with his spiritual awareness, he found him merely a Qi Stage cultivator, and thus asked sharply. His tone carried an unmistakable air of superiority. As for Han Li, who wore a spiritual seal on his finger, he was clearly a Physical Cultivator. Yet, the young man seemed indifferent to the fact that a Physical Cultivator was sharing the same space with a Qi Stage cultivator. "Not exactly. I'm merely accompanying a guest to purchase some items," Tian Xing replied promptly, his heart stirred upon realizing the two visitors were Condensed Stage cultivators. "Guest? Then where is the master of Qiongyu Pavilion?" the young man inquired, giving a slight sniff. "Master Xu has gone upstairs to retrieve something. The two of you may wait a moment or two." Tian Xing replied carefully. "Lü sister, please wait a moment—have you been alright?" The young man paid no attention to Tian Xing, but turned instead to the young female cultivator beside him, speaking gently. "No worries—I think my elder uncle is currently discussing something with your master. We don't need to rush over and interrupt them. Still, do you think this shop actually has what I'm looking for?" The elegant woman turned her gaze, clearly also intrigued by the empty shelves surrounding them. "I heard about this shop from someone, and it's actually my first visit. My friend mentioned that there are many unusual items here—perhaps even if we don't find exactly what Sister Lü is seeking, it would be a pleasant experience just to see them." The young man's tone carried a subtle tone of politeness. "Then, with Money Brother's words, I'm certain I'll take a good look around." The young woman smiled lightly. At that moment, the sound of footsteps came from the stairs. The elder carried two silk boxes—one large and one small—and descended slowly. "Well, another guest has arrived, I see. Oh, my gate guardian beasts have been injured by you." Upon seeing the two young cultivators, the elder paused slightly, but upon glancing out the door, his expression darkened. "Don't worry! I only gave them a mild scolding—no serious harm done. Master Lu is the descendant of Huangliang Master. If your gate beasts truly disturb them, I'm afraid they'll suffer greatly!" The young man seemed aware of the elder's background, remained motionless, yet spoke with a polite smile that lacked warmth. "Descendant of Huangliang Lingjun. Then this time shall be an exception—no more such incidents!" Hearing this, the elder's face tightened slightly, but quickly settled again. Then, seemingly unwilling to engage in further conversation with the two, he took a few steps toward Han Li and handed over the silk box first. Han Li did not immediately reach out to take it, but first flashed a glance and asked, "What rare item is inside the box? Shouldn't Mr. Xu introduce it to me first?"
