The blood spheres, upon inhaling those dark-red substances, suddenly had the bloodiness vanish, instead exuding an exceptionally rich and rare fragrance. The lower-ranked spirit creatures below stirred in agitation! The higher-tier beasts, though deeply covetous, managed to restrain themselves. The less intelligent, lower-ranked creatures, however, displayed eager glances, some even beginning to stir and move. As for the ghost soldiers and the numerous puppets drifting through the black wind, they remained completely still. Suddenly, a sharp, cold snort echoed from above. A freezing chill descended from the heavens, instantly enveloping the entire realm, causing all the creatures to shiver as their newly awakened hopes vanished entirely. It seemed that the Six-Limbed one had anticipated this development all along, radiating an astonishing surge of spiritual pressure from his body. Han Li was deeply impressed by this sight. Among the several combined-tier beings he had encountered, the Six-Limbed one clearly stood out as the strongest. Could he possibly be at the peak of the late combined stage?
Han Li murmured to himself, at the same time making up his mind not to engage this being in any direct confrontation. Perhaps with his current powers, he still had a chance of escape before other immortal kings, but against this one, his prospects were entirely nil. At that moment, Mu Qing began reciting softly before the massive blood sphere emitting a fragrant aroma. The other several dozen high-ranking immortals, however, swiftly shot downward, displaying a clear sense of urgency and panic as if fleeing for their lives. Almost simultaneously, a deep rumbling thunder echoed in the space above the sphere, causing a noticeable ripple in the surrounding space. A series of pale silver clouds materialized out of nowhere, spiraling before coalescing into a strange, enormous vortex. The vortex spanned nearly fifteen zhang in diameter, with the silver clouds swirling intensely and growing progressively brighter, accompanied by intermittent booming sounds as though something immense was breaking through the air to emerge. Han Li's expression shifted, and his gaze fixed on the sky, his eyes briefly narrowing, with a steady blue glow pulsing within them.
Others might not notice, but Han Li, through his Ming and Qing spiritual sight, clearly perceived the entire scene within the vortex. He saw that at the deepest part of the vortex, under the pressure of the silver mist, the space had become as thin and wrinkled as paper, and was now vibrating intensely. The roaring sound was the unusual resonance emitted as the space fluctuated violently. Suddenly, amid the thunderous noise, a sharp, porcelain-shattering crack rang out, causing Han Li's pupils to contract instantly. The space within the vortex finally shattered. A flash of black light revealed a fluffy, silvery arm extending from within, which waved several times in the void before a second, identical arm emerged. Both arms, each bearing dark fingernails and measuring several zhang in length, grasped the edge of the black hole and spread outward. As a result, the space within a hundred zhang radius crumbled into fragments. After a mournful sigh, the silvery vortex dissolved into scattered silver stars.
A much larger, dark void, ten times the size of the original, suddenly emerged in the void, with two immense hands resting steadily upon its edges. At the same time, a colossal eye within the black hole flickered erratically, emitting an eerie green glow.
Yet Han Li remained unharmed, feeling no at all unusual. Han Li himself was surprised, and naturally this drew the attention of Mu Qing and the others. The white-haired beauty woman murmured a light "Ah!" and slightly moved her lips, as if about to ask something. But Lu Zhu spoke first, coldly: "Do not be surprised. This young man uses the Golden Thunder Bamboo as his primary artifact. Moreover, he has not spent much time in the Deep Abyss, so his body has not been tainted by the dark aura. Thus, he is not afraid of the Shocking Sky Demon's cries—this is no surprise at all." Upon hearing Lu Zhu's words, the beauty woman nodded with a sudden realization, then fell silent. The two blood-robed figures and Mu Qing exchanged a glance at Han Li, but said nothing further. Han Li frowned upon hearing the name "Shocking Sky Demon." He had never heard of it before. Yet, anyone capable of piercing the void must be no ordinary being—perhaps a true spiritual entity? Yet, though the four royal beasts appeared serious, they did not seem to be meeting the standard of a present-day true spiritual being.
Just as Han Li was puzzled, a pair of silver arms at the edge of the black hole snapped back instantly, and gradually, the eyes within the hole came into focus. Slowly, a strange creature emerged, revealing its true form. Han Li was taken aback upon first sight. This creature was a massive silver head, several dozen zhang in diameter, with a rough, bumpy surface and no hair at all. A single prominent jade-green eye stood out prominently in its forehead. Its long, broad mouth was lined with fine, sharp teeth, appearing exceptionally keen. Yet, where the nose should have been, there was only two dark, empty holes, devoid of any structure. What was even more chilling was that the creature had only this head—no body at all—just two furry mid-arms extending from the ears of the head, glowing with a soft silver light. "This is the Jinkong Demon—its appearance is truly quite unsettling!" Though Han Li had encountered many strange beasts and spirits before, he was still deeply startled by its appearance.
A cold breeze surged from behind! As soon as the monster materialized before the black hole, its single eye spun rapidly, immediately fixing on the massive blood orb, radiating an eerie glow. It seemed completely indifferent to the four great demon kings and the tens of thousands of lower-ranking demon puppets beneath them. Clearly, it had pierced through space to reach this very spot, drawn solely by the allure of the blood food. At this moment, after the low-ranking demons ceased their cries upon the cessation of the Jingkong Demon's song, they began to rise from the ground one by one, yet each trembled in fear, silent and motionless. The four great demon kings gazed upon the creature, growing increasingly respectful, though their expressions remained calm and composed. The massive head emitted a low hum, opened its mouth, and a cascade of silvery light erupted, swiftly lifting the entire blood orb and hurling it back toward the kingdom. With a soft "plop," the blood orb was swallowed whole. The Jingkong Demon flashed with brilliant light, instantly transforming its entire body into a vibrant crimson hue, as though instantly stained by the blood it had consumed.
A few deep, resonant rumblings issued from its massive mouth, causing the enormous head to waver unsteadily. Then, with a sudden turn, it vanished into the black abyss, disappearing without a trace.
The Jingkong Demon had thus simply vanished.
Yet the Four Great Immortal Kings made no move to intercept or attempt to hold it back.
Only the dark, gaping hole remained suspended in the sky.
Seeing this, Han Li's eyes flashed with surprise, and he found himself slightly puzzled.
At that moment, Lu Zhu spoke softly:
"Done. With the Jingkong Demon having torn open the spatial rift for us, our entry into the Minghe Realm will now be much smoother. Mu, you and I will go first to establish the spatial connection within the realm, enabling the earth-blood forces and Lan's army to enter seamlessly."
"Lu Zhu, please! Han, Jinling, and the rest—come as well," Mu Qing nodded and issued the command without hesitation.
"Agreed!" Jin Yuan replied promptly, bowing deeply at once.
Han Li was startled at first, then smiled bitterly as he followed. It seemed that these five immortal kings had used blood offerings to lure the Shengkong Demon into appearing, intending to exploit the spatial rift it created to enter the Minghe realm. However, observing the skill with which Mu Qing and the others arranged the blood offerings, it was clear they had performed such rituals on multiple occasions. Han Li had no idea what great power the demon possessed—how, after vanishing, the spatial rift instantly expanded and Mu Qing's form flickered, allowing them to swiftly enter the black cavern ahead. Han Li, under the watchful but polite gaze of the Golden Ape, could only press on, determined to follow. As soon as his body appeared at the edge of the black hole, he felt strong spatial tremors emanating from within. The rift now appeared vastly different from the others he had seen—like a colossal tunnel stretching far into the distance. Beyond, the darkness was dense and continuous, with deep, resonant thunderous sounds echoing steadily.
Six-foot and Mu Qing were already flying forward slowly, barely visible ahead, moving with great caution. Han Li and Jin Yuan immediately followed at a steady pace.
Though this aerial spirit, famed as the master of space, has no self-awareness and merely functions by instinct! However, the blood offerings it consumed in the previous dozen or so blood sacrifices, combined with the thousand-year-old, subtly infused elixir hidden within the current blood meal, will surely keep it unconscious for several months. As long as it remains asleep, the channel will remain open, allowing us to travel back and forth between this realm of the Under River. To be honest, last time, we wouldn't have discovered the Under River at all had it not been for this very spirit appearing in our deep caverns. "Six-legged one, nodded. "Nevertheless, had it not been for your prior knowledge of the Under River, I doubt we would have dared to take such a significant risk and venture into such a perilous place!" Mu Qing smiled gently. "Hmph. If it hadn't been for your shared interest in the Under River's divine milk, I wouldn't have been able to persuade you at all. Well, now isn't the time for such talk. Let's move—clear the remaining sections of the channel!" Six-legged one grunted and issued the command. (First update!
