The figures on the black-hued beast were clearly visible upon closer inspection—each had a pale violet complexion, long flowing hair, wearing black battle armor, wielding various dark-bladed weapons, all with clear, refined features. When the beast paused, the women silently leapt down from its backs, revealing their full forms. Han Li's eyes widened instantly at the crystal sphere! Below the waist, each woman's bodies were clearly half that of a centipede—numerous slender limbs extending seamlessly from her upper torso, creating an eerie, chilling impression even as Han Li observed them. Yet these foreign women appeared well-trained, swiftly arranging themselves into neat formations. Among them, one of slightly higher status stepped forward, approaching the others and positioning herself ahead, gazing toward the earth wall. Suddenly, she smiled, her mouth stretching all the way to her earlobes, revealing a row of fine, sharp teeth, and then extending a slender, serpentine tongue. The once graceful, elegant woman now appeared remarkably fierce and intimidating.
Against this striking contrast, it was not impossible that a timid observer, seeing it for the first time, would be knocked senseless. Although Han Li was not entirely unprepared, he still gasped, his eyes twitching slightly. The others naturally witnessed the scene. The young woman's expression was dark and resolute, while the other fire-yang race serpent people remained silent, each one displaying clear apprehension.
The fear on their faces subsided considerably, replaced by a surge of renewed determination. Han Li's expression brightened, and a thoughtful smile played at the corner of his lips. The seemingly simple sigh from the woman a moment ago had actually employed a secret spiritual technique. Though the technique was highly concealed, Han Li, having mastered the Da Yan Ju cultivation path, effortlessly detected it. Otherwise, how could these lower-level priests have so easily been stirred into battle readiness?
In the blink of an eye, the hall was left with only the woman, the young girls, and Han Li, and the other four serpent people. These four serpent people were all of considerable age, each possessing the initial stage of Jin Dan cultivation—ranks just below the woman in the clan. Han Li merely glanced at them briefly before turning his gaze away without any particular interest. The woman took a deep breath, turned her head slightly, ready to speak to Han Li—yet at that very moment, thunderous drumbeats erupted from all four sides, followed immediately by a continuous series of explosive sounds, and the ground began to rumble once more. "The assault on the city has already begun!" the woman's expression changed slightly, and she chuckled weakly. "Haven't you planned to go out?" Han Li asked, his face showing a touch of curiosity. "There's no need to go out at all. If my guess is correct, the senior members of the Wulo clan will come here on their own." The woman shook her head. "Oh, really? I didn't expect that!" Han Li was genuinely surprised.
"Our family, the Nuò lineage, and the Wūluó clan have been mortal enemies for generations, and we are well acquainted with their habits. Although we've activated all the seals and barriers, we are still largely unable to stop the true master practitioners among them. They excel especially at concealment and infiltration. When facing us, they typically first eliminate our most accomplished practitioners, then proceed to methodically dispatch the lower-ranked ones." The woman offered this explanation with a strained smile. "Ah, now I understand!" Han Li stroked his chin, showing thoughtful consideration. But after a moment, he chuckled lightly, uttering a remark that caused the woman and others to pale in surprise. "So, the Daoist standing quietly beside us is not the assistant that the Fire Daoist had previously arranged. Then, shall I summon him forth?" "What? They've already arrived!" The woman gasped. Yet as she spoke, Han Li suddenly extended his hand, palm facing the nearby wooden pillar, and made a gesture as if grasping it in mid-air. Instantly, a luminous, translucent hand materialized and forcefully reached out, gripping the pillar with strength.
"Pffft!" As the large hand had not yet firmly grasped the pillar, a streak of black light shot forth from within the pillar, flashing out to twenty paces away. A flash of luminous energy transformed the streak into a member of the Wulo clan. Upon seeing this Wulo person, the women and the fire-yang clan members instantly grew alarmed,纷纷 adopting defensive postures. The woman flipped her hand once, producing a short, crimson-stick-like staff that seemed to be stone in texture. The other four white-robed serpent people each flicked their hands, each producing a long, silver-bladed sword that shimmered with cold light, resembling a series of slender, serpentine silver snakes. The young girl waved her hands vaguely, and by then, the large yellow bow on her back had appeared in her hands, with a white bone arrow smoothly nocked onto it. The Wulo person who had been pushed out by Han Li had a pale, lilac complexion, yet his eyes shone with a brilliant silver glow, giving his delicate features a somewhat eerie appearance.
It stared at Han Li expressionlessly, showing no concern for the actions of the woman and others, and suddenly spoke in a cold tone: "Your aura is off. You are not from the Wawa clan. Which noble lineage are you from? You've discerned my concealed technique—either the Bai Mu clan or the Qian Huan clan." Clearly, the Uro had mistaken Han Li for one of the two renowned foreign clans of Leiming Continent, famed for their spiritual vision abilities. Han Li smiled slightly, said nothing in reply, and instead glanced at a shaded corner of the hall. Without further words, he pointed a single finger toward that spot. "Pffft!" A small blade of jade-green light shot forth like lightning, swiftly reaching the shaded area and striking with a decisive motion. A soft sound followed, and suddenly a dark glow emerged from within the shadow, intertwining instantly with the blade. At the same time, a figure slowly rose from the shadow. Han Li's eyes flashed blue, and the distant blade emitted a bright green glow, instantly dispersing the dark glow into fragments. Then, the blade flashed once more, cutting toward the newly emerged dark figure.
Its speed was not merely doubled—it was significantly faster than before. The black figure was startled by the swift surge of green light, yet it proved no ordinary one. With a mere twist of its form, it transformed into a black thread and shot forth. In a single flick, the thread appeared ten zhang away. To everyone's astonishment, the small sword also flickered and instantly became a green thread, darting after it. The black thread had paused momentarily, only to be startled when the green thread appeared before it, prompting it to surge forward once more. Instantly, a series of sharp crackling sounds of rushing air filled the air. A green and a black light thread, one in front, one behind, now danced in and out, chasing each other through the sky of the hall. Just moments before, the two threads had been on one side of the hall; by the next instant, they had mysteriously materialized at a corner on the opposite end. The speed of their movements left the audience in sheer awe. Suddenly, the leading black thread blurred slightly, then split into seven or eight identical forms, all flashing and shooting out in every direction at once.
This move caused Han Li's brow to lift slightly. With a single hand gesture, his silken hair paused and shot back, then, after a brief flicker, reformed into a small sword embedded once more within his body. Throughout the entire process, Han Li's expression remained calm and composed, as if it had required no effort at all. The several strands of black hair that had shot out earlier spiraled once in the air above the hall before gathering again, reuniting into a single strand. A flash of dark light revealed a dark-skinned Uruman woman with golden eyes. She glared fiercely at Han Li, her face filled with anger. Upon seeing the woman's golden eyes, the woman's body trembled slightly: "Dual golden eyes—indeed, this is the hallmark of the Uruman royal family! You must have also been responsible for the deaths of the high priests of the other two clans!" As she spoke, she fixed her gaze on the newly appeared Uruman, her face expressing disbelief. "Hmph. You do have some insight. Yet, since we have personally intervened, your entire lineage's fate is now sealed," the woman with golden eyes said, her gaze sharp and her voice sharp.
At that moment, the first appearing Urulian flickered like a ghost, vanishing in an instant and reappearing beside the Golden-Eyed Urulian, standing side by side. Han Li glanced at the two women, his eyes briefly narrowing. A strange, ethereal glow enveloped both Urulians; even with his powerful spiritual awareness, he could not directly discern their true levels of cultivation. Clearly, they must be protected by some extraordinary artifact—though he still did not know what kind of treasure it was. With these thoughts running through his mind, Han Li decided not to act immediately. The nearby woman's gaze flickered several times, still hesitating to speak. Suddenly, the young girl standing beside her raised and drew back a large yellow bow in her hands, then released the bone arrow. "Pffft!" A lance of yellow and white light shot forth, trembling slightly, and instantly spread out, forming a dense, uniform field of yellow arrows that completely enveloped the two Urulians across from them.
In Bai Zhu'er’s estimation, since the battle was certain to unfold, there was no point in wasting words—she would have to act first.
At this sight, the woman was first startled, then clenched her teeth, and with a motion of her red short staff, it transformed into a crimson fire dragon, launched straight toward the enemy.
The four white-robed serpent beings exchanged glances, then swung their silver-long blades, sending forth a series of powerful silver blade flashes that surged forward with determined force.
For a moment, several members of the Huayang clan united and launched a coordinated assault.
With the interweaving of various luminous energies, it seemed the two Wulo warriors would be swiftly engulfed.
Yet, under this overwhelming onslaught, the two women suddenly raised their hands each, and from each, a cluster of dark luminescence burst forth.
These then swiftly took the form of two rotating black halos, spinning rapidly in front of them.
