Chapter 1582: Spirit-Endowed Automaton

"Fēn fēn!" Han Li murmured the name again, then nodded and added, "Since I don't need to delve deep into the Black Jade Mountain Range, the risk is indeed worth taking. However, let me make it clear upfront: if things don't turn out as you described, or if other complications arise and the risk seems too great, I will be free to abandon this venture at any time. Moreover, on the day the Black Jade Mountain Range opens to the public, I hope my companion will join me and personally guide me through the path. Lastly, if this Saint-Level beast truly possesses the bloodline of a mountain giant ape, I shall claim half of its true spirit blood. Should any of these conditions not be met, we will have no further business to transact." As he concluded, Han Li's expression grew solemn. "No problem—I accept all of these terms," Fibre replied, after a brief thought. Seeing that his counterpart had agreed so readily, Han Li smiled gently and said nothing further. With a flick of his wrist, his storage bracelet shot out smoothly into the air. With one hand, he pointed at a single spot. At once, a cascade of emerald light surged forth, and suddenly, several bottles, wooden boxes, and chests of varying sizes appeared floating in mid-air. Additionally, dozens of vividly colored, top-tier spiritual stones, glowing brightly, also rose and hovered there. "These pills are effective from your current stage all the way up to the lower and mid-ranks of our clan, and even may help you break through any bottlenecks. However, the exact results may vary depending on the individual. As for the materials, I've spent considerable effort gathering them. My friend, do you find them satisfactory?" Han Li said calmly. Many of the pills were ones he had previously taken himself, and even the last two vials of "True Toad Fluid" were now brought out—nothing to be concerned about if the other party had any objections. Though the materials might be slightly less refined, they were taken from the two immaterial-level beasts he had slain during his time on the Fire Coral Islands—thus, extremely rare and precious. Yet the superior spirit stones he gathered were no easy task, and having so many at once truly made him feel the pinch. Indeed, after the woman carefully examined each pill and material, a look of delight spread across her face. "These items are no ordinary things, and together with these superior spirit stones, they are sufficient to match even the legendary magic-armored battle suit." The crystal-people woman raised her hand, gathering all the items and stones into one, and smiled warmly. "Then, as long as my colleague is satisfied, this matter is settled. I shall leave you with a ten-thousand-li seal. I won't leave Yun City for some time to come. When the magic mountain range nears its activation, simply use this seal to notify me." Han Li gave a gentle smile, and with a subtle mental gesture, a shimmer of light flashed across the surface of his storage bracelet, followed by a jade plaque the size of a palm dropping out. Then, the storage bracelet surged forward as a streak of emerald light, swiftly vanishing and reappearing once more at Han Li's wrist. "Excellent! I'll remember that!" the crystal-people woman nodded happily, and reached out to take the jade plaque into her Han Li said nothing further, clasping his hands in gestures and murmuring incantations. At once, the golden spells rising from the black mist above merged with his purple battle armor, flashing and then vanishing together. Meanwhile, the Yuan Ying within his Dan Tian, a faint smile playing at its corners, appeared to be delighted. On its originally plump, white body, a vivid purple-and-red battle armor had now clearly emerged. The rest was simple. After the woman named "Xianxian" used her magical disk to return them to their original shop, Han Li did not linger, but drifted away immediately. During the following hours, he visited one after another of the many other shops that caught his interest, primarily specializing in materials, artifacts, talismans, and various other dedicated stores. Though he also gained valuable items, they could hardly be compared with the celestial magical armor he had obtained. Han Li remained on this street for one full day and night, finally returning to his residence by vehicle when the sky once again grew dark and heavy. For over a dozen consecutive days, Han Li did nothing but wander aimlessly through the streets and alleys of Yuncheng, stopping at countless shops. As a result, he gradually gained a preliminary understanding of the city. In the evenings, Xiang Zhilǐ would occasionally drop by to chat with him for a while. During this period, Yuncheng appeared outwardly tense but internally relaxed—life within the city continued as usual, with no signs of imminent war. It was unclear whether the Tianyun clans had grown accustomed to the attacks from the Jiaochi clan, or whether they simply believed the Jiaochi could never reach the outskirts of Yuncheng. One day, as Han Li stepped out of the inn, he did not go into any shop but simply told the driver who had stopped his beast carriage, "Yunxia Mountain!" and then got into the carriage without saying another word. The carriage immediately set off, speeding through the streets. This time, the carriage nearly crossed half of Yun City, only to come to a sudden halt at the foot of a towering mountain. Han Li stepped down and gazed intently at the magnificent sight for a long while. Indeed, it was a mountain—rising over three thousand zhang high, lush with verdant greenery, and radiating a pure, refined spiritual aura. It even bore the unmistakable signs of a highly developed spiritual meridian. Han Li surveyed the surroundings and found that there were no less than seven such mountains nearby, all of similar size and scale. This was none other than Yun City’s famed "Ba Yun Mountains!" It was said that long ago, several great cultivators in the city employed miraculous, almost supernatural techniques to physically relocate eight large mountains from the ground into the city, while simultaneously capturing eight prime spiritual meridians from the earth and embedding them within the mountains—thus forming eight spiritual peaks that stood elevated above the ground, no longer connected to the earth’s surface. These eight spiritual mountains are also the only spiritual sites in Yun City where people can reside and cultivate for the long term, housing numerous cave pavilions of various sizes. These pavilions are not privately owned by any individual—they are all rented out to external tenants. Of course, the rental terms span a century, and the fees are astonishingly high. Yet even so, most of the cave pavilions on Bao Yun Mountain are actually leased out, and at times, there is even a shortage of available spaces. Jia Tian Mu's temporary pavilion is currently located within this very "Yunxia Mountain." Following the address recorded in the pavilion, Han Li emitted a shimmering green glow and instantly transformed into a streak of green light, shooting straight upward toward the mountain. The area of the Eight Cloud Mountains is also one of the few regions in Yun City where one can directly fly through the use of spiritual power. Han Li naturally had no hesitation in doing so. His presence here is naturally due to the promise made by the other party regarding the so-called "spiritually attuned automaton." During this time, Han Li has naturally gained considerable knowledge about the Wangu Clan's situation. Though ranked average among the Thirteen Clans of Tianyun, the Wangu Clan has achieved an astonishing level of mastery in the art of puppetry, reportedly one of the three most proficient clans on the Leiming Continent in this field. The concept of "spirit-linked puppets," once unclear to Han Li, has now been fully understood through his study of ancient texts and explanations from Zhi Li. These puppets not only possess power equivalent to or exceeding the stage of Huashen, but also exhibit a certain degree of spiritual awareness—capable of carrying out simple commands independently without requiring the master to divert attention, which is a remarkable rarity. Moreover, it is said that such puppets may even evolve autonomously, eventually attaining a considerable level of spiritual intelligence. Of course, this remains largely legendary; the Wangu Clan has never officially acknowledged these achievements, yet this has only further enhanced the mystique surrounding spirit-linked puppets. Even for the Wangu Clan, crafting such puppets is a challenging endeavor, and they are typically not sold to external parties. Occasionally, a few would surface, but they were all snatched up by the other ethnic groups, each fetching an astonishingly high price. Hearing the remarkable qualities of the spirit-linked puppets, Han Li himself, who was well-versed in puppet crafting, naturally became deeply interested. Moreover, he had other reasons that led him to come personally to this mountain. After a few flashes of the azure虹 he had transformed into, Han Li descended gently to a quiet, secluded spot midway up the mountain. Nearby, a seemingly unremarkable cliff face revealed a stone gate several zhang high, embedded within it. Han Li did not immediately approach to knock on the gate. Instead, he merely shook his sleeve, and a beam of fiery light shot forth, flashed once, and then vanished silently into the stone gate without a trace. Soon afterward, a shimmer of white mist passed over the gate's surface, and the door opened on its own. Jia Tian Mu stepped out with a bright smile. "Ha ha, indeed, it's Han brother!" "But how have you only just arrived? I've been waiting for several days." "Li Han has some matters that have kept me occupied, so I've delayed a bit. I hope you won't mind, Brother Jia." Li Han carefully studied his guest and noticed that he looked much better than before, so he smiled and said. "Ah, I see. This isn't quite the right place for a conversation. Brother Jia, please come in—let's move into my pavilion and continue our chat there." Brother Jia nodded and warmly invited him. "Then I shall follow your lead." Li Han didn't hesitate, and stepped forward promptly. Brother Jia's pavilion wasn't particularly large. After passing through a short corridor, one entered a hall about thirty zhang in size. The hall was elegantly arranged—several luminous round beads were embedded in the ceiling, and in the center stood a table, two tea tables, and hundreds of chairs. Beyond that, the space was otherwise empty. Even the walls were simply plain gray stone. "Please sit," Brother Jia said, as he settled into the main seat. Han Li nodded and then sat down at one side. "Clap! Clap!" Two light taps came from Jia Tianmu, who, without a word, simply raised his hands. Han Li's eyes flashed, and immediately he turned to gaze at a side door. Footsteps were heard inside. A few moments later, a beautiful woman in her twenties, dressed in yellow imperial robes, gracefully carried a long rectangular wooden box in her hands and stepped out. She soon reached the center of the hall, placed the wooden box on the table before Han Li, and then respectfully stood aside, silent. A strange scene unfolded! Han Li merely glanced at the wooden box before him, then lifted his head, narrowed his eyes, and fixed his gaze on the woman who had just arrived—his face now expressing a subtle expression of surprise. "Perhaps you've taken a liking to my attendant girl," Jia Tianmu said with a light smile. "If so, why don't I present her to you as a gift?"
