Chapter 1,628: The True Spirit of the Mountains

返回章节列表
This holy-tier beast radiated a strong purple glow, and its luminous shield instantly grew significantly thicker than before. It no longer paid any attention to the large hand of jade green hue, but swiftly raised its great sword high, using it as a shield to block the sky. At that moment, a thunderous roar shook the sword, and countless golden arcs spread out like a spiderweb, emitting sharp crackling sounds. The magical ape felt an immense weight pressing down on his hands, as if a mountain had directly settled upon the sword—his divine strength, though powerful, now seemed barely sufficient to withstand it. The power of the Divine Exorcising Thunder's ritual of summoning lightning far exceeded his initial expectations. Moreover, the continuous stream of golden lightning columns pouring down from the sky, unceasing and relentless, made it impossible for him to endure under his current condition. The beast was deeply startled, and, without further thought, suddenly inhaled deeply. Instantly, a surge of dark-red, profound qi erupted from his dantian, spreading out and flowing into every meridian throughout his body. At once, an unusually dense series of explosive sounds erupted within the magian ape's body. His form surged by half as it settled beneath the dark and crimson magical aura, and his arms, glowing with dark and crimson light, thickened noticeably. The originally poised purple great sword, which had been on the verge of being released, stabilized once again with a surge of brilliance. Yet, from the magian ape's serious expression, it was clear that this stability was only barely maintained. Just then, the large, jade-colored hand that had emerged from the ground followed the golden light's pressure, swiftly reaching out to envelop half of the sword's body. The magian ape, however, showed little concern. On one hand, he felt protected by his purple armor, and a mere manifestation of spiritual power from the ground posed no threat to him. On the other hand, under the looming threat of the divine, purifying thunder, he simply lacked the mental space to devote much attention. Now, the magian ape chewed continuously with his sharp teeth, constantly channeling the power of his internal magical techniques, striving solely to break free from the overwhelming strength of the divine thunder. This demon was well aware that the Ritual of Thunder was indeed astonishingly powerful—even at his peak, he would have to concede a measure of deference. Yet, the technique was cumbersome to execute; once it had been fully deployed, the opponent would have no chance to perform it a second time. However, as the jade hand of the young one first made contact with the protective violet aura, the magian monkey did not simply remain unprepared. As the aura flickered, it suddenly manifested a shimmering light shield—precisely intercepting the path of the jade hand. Upon the crisp sound of shattering, the holy-rank magian monkey realized he had been mistaken. Though he immediately summoned other divine techniques to absorb the impact, it was already too late. A tremendous force effortlessly shattered the light shield and then transmitted directly through the monkey’s armor to his own body! The violet armor proved utterly ineffective in dissipating the force. With all his strength devoted to countering the golden thunder column above, his physical form, though robust, could not maintain stability under this unexpected blow from the side. With a sudden "whoosh," the entire figure was hurled sideways. At that moment, the large hand finally revealed its true form—dark in hue, shimmering with a gray-white glow, clearly the Yuanmagnetic Divine Mountain. This treasure had long been fully assimilated and refined by Han Li, and thanks to the shielding effect of the sword array, it had been subtly transported to the lower section of the array, delivering a surprise blow. Indeed, even with the magical sight of the magical ape, the creature was completely unable to distinguish the attack in the midst of the sudden assault and thus was struck true. After all, the Yuanmagnetic Divine Mountain, having undergone a second refinement, was so heavy that even Han Li himself could not bear it directly. Though this great ape possessed divine strength, nearly surpassing Han Li's in power, it was utterly unprepared for the impact of the mountain and was thus effortlessly thrown into the air. Han Li, stationed outside the sword array, had anticipated all this and had already prepared a swift, single-handed gesture, swiftly pointing toward the distant void. The originally solidly blocked column of lightning-purple light, suddenly twisted strangely, and a flash of golden light briefly passed through one side of the massive purple sword. Immediately thereafter, the lightning struck the magian monkey that had just launched forward. A thunderous crack followed, and the golden arcs scattered wildly, forming a vast golden net that completely enveloped the monkey's body, which then crumbled into fragments, bursting with cascading golden light. Amidst the thunderous roar, the golden lightning completely submerged the monkey within the radiance. All of this occurred within mere breaths! During this time, the green arrows emerging from the sword formation never ceased, transforming into countless green glimmers and steadily sinking into the golden light, intensifying the burst of explosions. Yet, Han Li's true decisive move lay beyond this. Among the surge of green arrows, dozens of them flashed briefly, suddenly transforming into slender threads of green hair, each moving with a speed several times faster than the others. They swiftly pierced through the golden light, trembling slightly as they passed, then vanished instantly into another shimmering screen. Suddenly, within the previously silent luminous orb, a roar of furious indignation erupted from the Magmatic Deep—these seemingly insignificant strands of hair had indeed wounded the beast. Han Li, outside, beamed with joy. Without further hesitation, he raised his hand and struck his celestial crown. Instantly, the three-headed, six-armed form above his head stretched out and fully merged into the jade-like light curtain, vanishing. At the same time, the two shadow puppets standing behind Han Li twisted subtly without any prior sign, and disappeared seamlessly into his shadow. Next, a ripple of spatial disturbance surged through the sword formation in the sky, causing six golden orbs to spin rapidly and transform into six massive, radiant golden fists, which thundered down from the heavens. On the ground below, two golden silhouettes flashed, revealing two golden long swords and one golden blade, which immediately expanded into cascading sheets of cold light, rising upward in a swirling motion. As the second wave of assault seemed poised to be absorbed by the immense light orb, a sharp cry rang out. The luminous orb suddenly shattered into four fragments! At the same instant, a brilliant flash of blood erupted, and a blood-colored rainbow surged forth from the orb, darting through the sword formation like a celestial being from beyond the heavens—swift as lightning—before suddenly halting mid-air, transforming into a faint, ethereal glow. It was precisely the magical spirit of the demonic ape that Han Li had previously encountered! And now, it was holding that broken blade in its hands. Remarkably, the blade had not only regained its original form but also turned a vivid, blood-red, appearing extraordinarily strange and majestic. Yet his face was unnaturally pale, and several spots on his deep purple armor had shattered and turned black, with dozens of small holes—each as thick as a thumb—appearing suddenly across the entire armor, stained with blood. This body had clearly sustained severe injuries, forcing the magical ape to once again summon its spiritual essence and withdraw from the physical form! Standing outside the sword formation, Han Li witnessed this scene and his expression grew increasingly grave. He had believed that the series of attacks he launched had been continuous and relentless, nearly a sure victory—yet even so, he had failed to strike down this monster. "Excellent! Truly excellent! The physical body I've nurtured for several centuries—now reduced to its original state, even falling short of its condition before I entered my deep slumber. With that, I no longer need to hesitate. I will sacrifice this body entirely and secure your defeat, to settle the grudge that has been building within me! No—let me use your body as a temporary vessel for my spiritual essence!" The magical ape's spirit lowered its gaze, fixing upon the now desolate and waning physical form below. Two swirls of purple light surged wildly within its eyes, utterly unable to conceal the fury within, yet its voice instantly grew icy. As soon as it spoke, the demon sharply shook the broken blade in its hand, and a streak of blood shot straight out from the blade. Yet strangely, this blood streak did not aim at the surrounding sword formations—it instead struck the motionless, still form of the demon itself. With a soft "pffft," the purple battle armor of the magical ape's body showed no reaction at all, simply absorbing the blood streak as it passed through. An eerie scene unfolded. The physical form of the magical ape visibly shriveled at a rapid pace. Within moments, when the blood streak flashed upward once more, the once-purple armor had completely transformed into a black-purple, lifeless corpse. The remaining blade, after drawing out the bloodlight and reabsorbing it, dispersed a thick wave of bloodstench, while black magical essences bubbled up in gurgling streams from its surface, with dark and crimson runes surrounding the blade surging and pulsing wildly. But what happened next left Han Li's face pale with dismay. The great demon ape paid no attention to the beams of light streaming from all around, merely lightly extended a finger and gently tapped the broken blade. A deep, resonant "thud" echoed. A sudden distortion rippled through the space near the blade, and an invisible wave of energy instantly materialized, spreading outward in all directions. The newly arrived beams of jade-green light, upon touching this wave, instantly collapsed as if weakened and withered, vanishing one after another. Hundreds of powerful beams, rushing forward with fierce momentum, failed to approach the demon ape even an inch. Han Li was stunned, his face growing noticeably paler. Yet before he could fully grasp the nature of the magic the ape had employed, the ape emitted a cold exhalation, then a surge of crimson light rippled across its body. As a soft, purple-hued glow flashed above it, a translucent purple silhouette materialized silently in the air. This ethereal figure was clearly a massive purple ape resembling the magical ape to about seven or eight parts. Though it had no horns, its eyes shimmered with five-colored light, and on its chest stood a delicate silver pattern several feet in width—distantly resembling the character "Shan" (mountain).
