Chapter 1,630: The Extinction of the Gorillas

Back to Chapter List
As the dark wave on the opposite side surged forward, a flash of golden light from the six-eyed golden form above Han Li's head rippled through. A vast surge of inner qi flowed outwards from Han Li's body, and the golden glow on his form circulated dynamically, pouring streams of light into the objects he held. The originally towering, several zhang-high form of the Buddha-Saint's true magical manifestation not only shrank nearly in half but also its tangible surface instantly became blurred and indistinct. The ambient celestial and terrestrial qi around suddenly surged violently, countless five-colored characters appearing, and the sounds of wind and thunder intensified. The advancing black light waves in the passage seemed to encounter a stronger resistance, first congealing, then rolling back and dispersing outward. Upon the golden form releasing the Xuan Tian Sword, it seemed to draw in the surrounding celestial and terrestrial qi with a single strike, then release it with a decisive cut. Instantly, a vivid green blade of light flashed into being, brilliant and radiant like a bolt of lightning from the ninth heaven, instantly illuminating everything within several miles. No dark magical aura could obscure the swordlight in the slightest. The originally surging black waves, upon encountering the swordlight, momentarily slowed in momentum. At once, the entire space was divided by an invisible force into two distinct realms—above and below. Above, a soft green glow shimmered, with five-colored runes swirling dynamically; below, deep black waves surged forth, releasing points of profound, shimmering light. At their junction, a piercing, high-pitched cry erupted, followed by the simultaneous surge of two powerful, intangible waves that swept across the entire space like a hurricane. Everywhere except where Han Li and the opposing magical ape stood, everything was engulfed and shattered, reduced to nothingness. Even the Chun Li sword formation, though it flashed wildly, ultimately collapsed entirely—first dissolving into seventy-two floating, softly green swords, then, in a single flash, vanishing into scattered points of green light, utterly erased. It was obvious that the law-force manifested by the emerald swordlight vastly surpassed the power of the black waves below, forcing the latter to merely hold its ground before being completely overwhelmed by the vibrant green light, with its inherent law-forces collapsing and dissolving under the superior power. The mountainous, giant ape form at the apex of the magical entity’s spirit had already shrunk by half after delivering a single strike; now, under the influence of the emerald swordlight’s law-force, the magic sword it held shattered instantly. The mountainous giant ape form itself was suddenly struck by an invisible force, vanishing in a flash. "Divine treasure! A complete divine treasure! This is impossible!" The magical entity’s body trembled with blood-like light, gasping in shock as if witnessing the most astonishing phenomenon in this realm. Yet, as the faint, misty glow swiftly descended toward it, it instantly lost all composure. Suddenly, a flash of luminous energy rippled across its surface, and it transformed into a streak of blood-colored light, racing swiftly back toward the hall. But as the blood-hued light of Fei Dun had just traveled several dozen paces, the jade-green swordlight flashed once, instantly enveloping the demon ape's spirit beneath a veil of serene, misty celestial energy. A strange phenomenon unfolded. Under the glow of the green light, the blood-hued arc paused, then reappeared with the demon ape's blood-colored form, now motionless—frozen as if locked in place with the surrounding space. Suddenly, a ripple of celestial energy surged to this spot. Immediately, within a ten-foot radius around the demon ape, a continuous series of "crack" sounds echoed. One after another, delicate white fissures emerged like ripples on a mirror, spreading across the space until, accompanied by a piercing cry from the demon ape's spirit, the entire space shattered into fragments, like a puppet unraveling. The holy-rank demon ape thus fell to its death in a single moment. In the place where the space had shattered, a vast, dark void emerged. The fragmented remains of the demon ape's spirit, along with nearby wisps of pale space debris, simply spun gently before vanishing silently into the black hole, leaving no trace. And then the black hole's glow flashed once more, vanishing mysteriously. Only the purple remnant blade, now restored to its original form, remained, floating silently at a distance. Seeing this, Han Li sighed in relief, quickly pressing a series of hand seals and lightly tapping his celestial form in the air. Instantly, the Buddhist-Sacred True Magic Form hovering above his head gently shook the celestial sword in his hands, causing the emerald blade to dissipate into a cascade of five-colored halos and reform into the original shape of the Xuan Tian fruit, which then descended slowly from the sky. Han Li shook his sleeve, and a wave of azure light surged forward, aiming to envelop the treasure. Yet the Xuan Tian fruit flashed with a green glow, shooting out as a bright sphere of green light, vanishing instantly and then embedding itself into the side of his arm. Han Li felt a sharp, unusual warmth at the point of insertion, and was startled, quickly lifting his arm to draw his sleeve high. To his sight, a distinct yellow mark now appeared on his exposed arm—exactly the shape of the Xuan Tian fruit. Moreover, this imprint was fading rapidly, visibly, until it had turned into a mere faint, shallow trace. Han Li's mouth twitched, revealing a wry smile. It seemed the Heavenly Treasure had settled on his arm, once again attaching itself and sealing it in place. However, as the Heavenly Fruit vanished, the extraordinary phenomena within the passage began to dissipate like foam, and the underlying laws of nature that had filled the surrounding space vanished instantly. The passage reverted entirely to its original state of swirling magical qi. Han Li glanced toward the distance, his pupils flashing with a blue glow. Without further words, he raised one hand and gently grasped the air with his fingers. Suddenly, strange points of green light emerged within the distant magical qi, coalesced into dozens of clusters the size of fists, and then spun once before returning to their original form—seventy-two slender, one-inch-long green blades. These were precisely the Qing Zhu Feng Yun Jian that had been shattered when the fluctuations of the laws of nature had overwhelmed them during the initial incident. Yet, thanks to the ethereal manifestation technique inherent in the flying swords, once restored, they now appear to have sustained only minor damage. A series of sharp "whooshes" resonate! The swords instantly transform into dozens of bright green streaks, shooting back toward Han Li, only to pause and reappear upon reaching him. Han Li swiftly scans each sword with his divine awareness, confirming that they have merely lost some of their vital energy—no actual damage at all—and finally exhales a long, relieved breath. He then swiftly forms a seal with both hands, drawing all the swords into his sleeves. After glancing once more toward the distance, Han Li's face flushes with warmth, and he gently points his fingers toward the far-off area several times. A large and a small, dark-shaped object—one a solid black, armored magian monkey body, the other a half-foot-long broken blade—shimmer and separate from the magical mist, swiftly gliding through the air and arriving at Han Li's side within just a few movements. Han Li turned his gaze toward the magical ape. From the face, it appeared that the body had completely turned into a dry corpse, while the outer purple battle armor, seemingly losing much of its former power with the ape's demise, now looked dull and faded. He furrowed his brows slightly, then suddenly raised his hand and, with a single motion of his five fingers, silently pressed them against the chest of the armor. A gray glow flashed at the tips of his fingers, and the otherwise tightly sealed purple armor suddenly emitted a mournful sound, then, as the gray light flickered, abruptly detached into several components from the corpse and separated. After a brief spiral, it transformed into several streaks of purple light and shot out in all directions—remarkably, as if still possessing vitality and spirit! Yet Han Li had witnessed the extraordinary capabilities of this purple armor before, and had not been at all prepared for such a display. He merely snorted, and almost as soon as the purple light burst forth, he suddenly shook his sleeve, and a burst of green silk shot out from the sleeve. A flash of emerald light vanished, and immediately the purple radiance was fully entangled within the threads. Then, a clear chime resonated from within Han Li's sleeve, and a object about a foot high emerged—precisely the Xitian Treasure Cauldron. As the cauldron lid rose, the threads recoiled and curled back, drawing all the purple light into the cauldron. Upon the lid settling again, the small cauldron spun gently and hovered motionless before Han Li. With a slight lift of his brow, Han Li casually waved his sleeve, and the cauldron suddenly disappeared. Only then did Han Li turn his gaze to the now fully exposed corpse before him. The body was complete in hair and fur, yet its skin had turned a deep purple-black, as though it had existed for countless years. A flash of cold light passed through Han Li's eyes. Suddenly, he opened his mouth and expelled a surge of emerald sword-energy, which struck the corpse at once—his expression clearly indicating his intent to cleave the magical ape's body in two. But far beyond his expectations, as the sword light struck the dry flesh with a crisp, metallic clink, it bounced off instead, failing to penetrate the body at all. Han Li was momentarily stunned, then blinked several times before slowly extending one hand from his sleeve. At once, a shimmer of spiritual light flashed in his palm, and a small jade-like sword of a pale green hue emerged, then gently lengthened to a span, glowing softly with a cool, penetrating chill. With a simple flick of his wrist, the long green blade surged forward, cutting straight toward the dry corpse's dantian. A deep, resonant thud echoed—this time, like the sound of a blow striking a dry trunk. The tip of the sword pierced the dry body only an inch before being repelled. Han Li's face suddenly turned pale. The flesh of this Saint-level magical ape was astonishingly resilient—seeming no less durable than his own. If he hadn't first ensnared the foe with his sword formation, merely relying on that set of purple armor and his sturdy physique, the demon would have easily escaped him. Indeed, no less a force than a mid-stage combined-phase being—far surpassing the initial encounter with the early-stage Jiaochi clan warrior. Without summoning his Heavenly Primordial treasures, should the demon be at his peak, he would have had no choice but to flee in desperation. Yet, despite this, Han Li took no step back. A golden glow surged from his arms, and a surge of inner qi poured forth, fully channeling into the jade-green long sword in his hands. Instantly, the sword resonated with a clear, dragon-like cry, and as it radiated a vibrant green light, its blade flashed with cold brilliance, inch by inch penetrating the dried corpse. Once the sword had penetrated several inches into the corpse's dantian, Han Li suddenly flicked his wrist, causing the tip of the sword to emit a humming sound and swiftly carve out a circular path of bowl-sized breadth. The jade-long sword vanished in a flash. At the same time, Han Li extended his other hand and palm-pressed虚空 toward the corpse's dantian. A object shot out from the corpse's dantian with a whoosh. --- Updates resumed today!
