Chapter 1,661: Transcendent Magical Consciousness

Back to Chapter List
"Brother Han," the crystal-kin woman turned her head, speaking with serious gravity to Han Li. Han Li naturally had no objections, and at once flipped his palm, causing a jade box about a foot in size to materialize, bearing two sealing talismans affixed to its surface. With a swift stroke of his sleeve over the box, the lid opened, and a surge of black energy erupted forth from within. Vanished in an instant, merging into the bronze tripod and disappearing entirely. At once, an unusual, bell-like resonance echoed out, as black and deep green flames surged across the tripod's surface, swiftly engulfing the black magical armor and drawing it into the vessel. Thereafter, a thunderous rumbling sound emanated from within the tripod, causing the intricate patterns on its outer wall to glow darkly and shimmer. Meanwhile, the entire magical array beneath surged with dark mist, and various delicate silver glyphs began to emerge at different points. As soon as these glyphs appeared, they surged toward the tripod with great vigor, vanishing without a trace into its interior. Then, faintly, Lin Lin murmured a spell and pressed a hand seal, causing the ground around the array to shake violently. Suddenly, at each of the four corners, a bright yellow glow flashed, and deep yellow stone platforms rose up one by one. Though each platform stood only one zhang high, they were perfectly smooth, each adorned with a small, dark banner. Beneath each banner, a variety of jars and vessels were arranged neatly. Seeing this, Han Li's expression slightly shifted, but soon settled back into calm. With the chanting of incantations, the four banners gradually expanded, soon growing to five or six zhang in height. Xianxian then paused her spell, turned to Han Li, and said: "Friend Han, let us begin. During the repair process, all you need to do is listen to my instructions and promptly channel your spiritual energy into the four magical banners." "Alright," Han Li nodded without hesitation. Upon hearing this, the Crystal Clan member smiled contentedly and raised her hand, lightly tapping the floating magical disk once more. At once, a long resonant sound erupted from the disk, spewing forth countless spell components that surged toward various points in the sky. The swirling dark clouds roared, rushing down in a dense, oppressive wave, and the surrounding spatial barriers became shrouded in gray mist. In mere moments, Han Li and Xianxian's forms were completely enveloped by the rising mist. The only sounds heard were intermittent thunderous echoes deep within the mist. Time passed steadily, and before long, it was three days later. The shop's main gate suddenly swung open, and a figure stepped out calmly, summoning a beast-carriage at leisure and leaving the street without a fuss. "Fēn fēn's face briefly flushed with a touch of relief. "Fortunately, this young Han boy possesses the Divine Lightning that repels evil spirits—his single strike dispersed the accumulated magical energy. Otherwise, we would have faced quite a serious issue," said the Qīnglín seriously. "Yet the creature managed to cross the dimensional boundary and manifest its presence through sheer spiritual force, indicating that its cultivation level must be no less than that of a true spiritual being. Does this magical armor have some special significance? However, after repairing it, I found nothing remarkable on its surface." Fēn fēn frowned slightly. "The time was too short, and I didn't notice anything at first. But had I known this earlier, I would never have allowed this armor to be given to anyone else. In fact, when I repaired it just now, you could have easily found a pretext to retain it. Then, simply exchange it for other treasures with him." The Qinglín suddenly remarked. "I actually wanted to do just that. But after the man dispersed the magical energy, he seemed calm—yet I could sense that as soon as I said the word 'no,' he would have reacted." I suspect Master Han will immediately launch an attack against me, with absolutely no hesitation. His powers are nearly on par with those of a Saint Clan junior rank, and yet the several life-saving treasures I've crafted have already been used up almost entirely within the Mochi Mountain Range. I simply don't feel confident about surviving his decisive assault. The crystal-clad maiden smiled faintly and replied. "Unfortunately, I too suffered significant depletion of my vital energy during my time in the Mochi Mountain Range. If only I hadn't, then, with the aid of this locale's spatial seals, we could have jointly preserved this item." The green麒 also expressed some frustration. "Well then. Even if this magical armor is as extraordinary as it may be, it remains a magical artifact. No matter how much I retain it, I won't be able to fully master or command it. In fact, I might end up offending such a valuable ally I've only recently grown close to—somewhat to my detriment." The crystal-clad maiden's expression shifted several times before she took a deep breath and spoke. "Heh, you're quite right. Perhaps I'll just let this young man have the advantage after all." As to whether there's any other secret hidden within, that will depend entirely on this young man's fate. Still, it's a bit of a pity—this magical armor might very well have been a fortunate opportunity for you. After a brief silence, the Qilin spirit only sighed lightly and said, "Opportunities—when you're here, will I ever truly lack them?" Xiānxiān seemed genuinely at ease with the matter, offering a gentle smile. "That's true. What you're currently lacking isn't opportunities, but rather the swift advancement of your cultivation and powers. Otherwise, no matter how many opportunities you gather, if you can't grasp them, all your efforts will go to waste. Well, let's set this aside for now. Have you found what I asked you to investigate?" The Qilin spirit suddenly changed the subject and asked. "Not yet. It seems only a few elders at the Saint Stage know the whereabouts of that item—it's quite challenging." Upon hearing this, Xiānxiān looked somewhat troubled. "Then you'll need to put in more effort. Without the item itself, even if I take you to that ancient site, you won't be able to enter at all." The "I'm well aware of this matter. I'll make further arrangements to see whether I can secure or borrow this item from the disciples or relatives of these old masters." After a moment of thoughtful contemplation, her gaze flickering, she finally spoke slowly. The initial phase of repairing the magical armor proceeded smoothly, but toward the latter part, a series of varying degrees of difficulties began to arise—either the spell array suddenly halted without warning, or cracks unexpectedly appeared in the bronze cauldron. Fortunately, with the combined efforts of the two of them, these issues were eventually resolved. Yet no one could have anticipated that, as soon as the final repair step was completed and the armor soared out of the cauldron, a sudden, cold and powerful divine consciousness forcefully pierced through the spatial barrier, materializing directly within this small realm and immediately charging straight toward the armor. Given the abruptness of the event, the young woman, Xianxian, clearly froze for a moment. Fortunately, having encountered such interdimensional divine consciousness before, Han Li promptly dispatched a beam of purifying divine lightning, dispersing and pushing back half of the consciousness with a single strike. By normal expectations, once this consciousness failed to make contact, it should have immediately shattered the spatial barrier and fled. Yet whether it was the divine consciousness master who was determined to claim this magical armor, or simply regarded the mere two or three immortals of the Transcendent Stage as insignificant, he did not retreat but advanced further into the refined magical qi within the array, gathering all the qi toward the center and forming a monstrous creature that was about to solidify into a complete magical being. But how could Han Li allow this to happen? Startled and alarmed, he summoned all the remaining divine-protective thunder stored within his body, channeling it forth in a single surge, delivering a thousand thunderbolts directly upon the beast. Though this creature, even with its profound intrinsic powers and the partially formed, yet uncompleted magical body sustained by a single strand of consciousness, could withstand consecutive attacks from dozens of divine-protective thunderbolts, it could not endure the onslaught when hundreds, even thousands, of golden electric arcs surged forth from Han Li’s hands in succession. The creature’s consciousness, along with its coalescing magical form, failed to utter a single cry of pain, and was instantly vaporized by the brilliant golden light. Nevertheless, both Han Li and the young jade-kin woman now clearly recognized the remarkable significance of this magical armor—seemingly far more distinguished than they had anticipated. Han Li immediately noticed the slight hesitation in the jade-kin woman's expression during that instant, though he maintained a composed demeanor on his face, secretly sharpening his alertness, watching closely to see whether she would ultimately betray her promise. To his relief, despite her evident reluctance, the woman ultimately allowed Han Li to successfully store the armor within the jade box. This gave him great comfort. As a result, his favorable impression of the jade-kin woman deepened slightly, though he did not linger any longer. After offering a few thanks, he stepped out of her space, boarded the beast-carriage, and settled into his seat. Now, as he gently stroked the jade box concealed in his sleeve, his curiosity about the repaired armor grew ever stronger.
