A flash of golden light, and the golden insects surged forward, ignoring the shimmering light ahead. In the next instant, though their numbers had dwindled to just one-tenth of the original silver insects, their bodies were several times larger than those of their opponents. Not only were they far stronger in physique, but their ability to consume prey surpassed that of the silver insects by a wide margin. No matter how vigorously the silver insects clutched with their front limbs or bit into the golden insects' exoskeletons, they left no trace at all. In contrast, the golden insects merely tore through their adversaries with a few bites, reducing them to fragments and swallowing them whole with ease. Despite the fact that nearly several silver insects attacked each golden insect simultaneously, within moments, half of the silver insects vanished. The remaining silver insects, finally losing all courage, turned and fled once more—but under the radiant glow of the primordial magnetic light, they could not escape. They were swiftly pursued and consumed one by one. As the final silver insect approached, it suddenly flashed with light and burst apart of its own accord.
A flash of silver, and a faint, almost imperceptible outline shot forth from within, poised to vanish silently. Ordinary beings would likely fail to notice such an elusive trace. Yet, high above, a flash of blue light in Han Li's eyes illuminated his resolve. Without hesitation, he extended one hand downward. With his five fingers gently parted, a surge of five-colored cold flame shot down, swiftly coiling around the ethereal form that had already fled over ten paces. The figure trembled, and instantly revealed its true form—a pale, silvery humanoid creature with a bug-like body—struggling desperately in the flame, its appearance grotesque. Upon seeing this, Han Li's expression darkened abruptly. With a seemingly casual slight bend of his fingers, the cold flame beneath transformed into countless strands of five-colored light, all converging toward the center. The motionless humanoid creature was instantly ensnared by the radiating filaments.
As these light filaments tightened with force, the brilliant glow dimmed, and they severed the surrounding insect shadows into countless fragments. Only then did Han Li relax his expression, raising his hand and waving it once. The five-colored light filaments flickered and gradually dissolved. Then, he quickly nodded toward the lower group of golden insect colonies. Instantly, the golden beetles transformed into hundreds of golden blossoms and surged upward, shooting toward him. After a few quick flashes, they vanished entirely into the sleeve. Han Li then extended his hand downward and grasped, and the black mountain peak shrank instantly and was absorbed within. He finally exhaled gently. From releasing the golden insects to consuming all the threatening ones in one breath and then swiftly retrieving them, the entire process took only a fleeting moment. Thus, despite releasing a considerable number of golden insects, his spiritual energy consumption remained minimal, having hardly affected him at all. Indeed, even as he released the insects, he had already made his decision in his mind.
Should these flying insects prove impossible to eliminate within a short time, he would naturally and without hesitation bring them back, ensuring his spirit would not be overly taxed; otherwise, he would suffer a loss. As anticipated, the golden-devouring insects indeed proved to be the most effective weapon against these fierce foes, swiftly and completely wiping them out. With any other treasures, such a clean and decisive result would not be guaranteed. After glancing toward the area where the two fierce insects were engaged in combat, Han Li's body shimmered with a flash of green light, transforming into a streak of green light that broke through the air. A few moments later, he vanished from sight at the far edge of the sky. Almost simultaneously, at the heart of the silver tide, tens of thousands of miles away, a colossal insect—far larger than ordinary silver insects—suddenly raised its lowered head and gazed toward Han Li's location. Under the gentle silver glow, a weathered man's face emerged clearly on the insect's head. His brows were furrowed, and a hint of surprise lingered on his expression.
The humanoid face gazed at the direction where Han Li stood for a moment, then shifted its gaze to the point directly ahead of the silver tide. Far off, several miles away, the dense waves of silver insects intertwined with the surging green vapor, still unable to determine a clear winner. After a moment of hesitation, the face of the silver insect finally emitted a long, sharp cry. Instantly, the surrounding silver insects surged wildly, rushing in like a flood toward the source of the cry. In a short while, they coalesced into a massive silver creature whose form rapidly expanded. Within a brief time, all the silver insects within a mile radius were swept upward, and a colossal insect, exceeding a hundred zhang in length, materialized in that space. As its wings flapped, two powerful gusts of wind erupted beneath it, lifting the enormous body into the air and propelling it forward.
...Although Han Li did not know the specific origin of the mysterious spirit he had extinguished, he naturally understood that this development was far from auspicious.
Thus, once he had departed from his original position, he immediately changed direction several times during his flight, then activated the Taiyi Huaqing Seal to conceal himself for a while before finally feeling at ease and continuing his journey. Though now only Han Li remained, he regarded himself as capable of standing a match against even a Consolidation Stage initial-level being, and thus felt no great apprehension. The form of light he had transformed into followed a newly chosen route, continuing its flight toward the other end of the Guanghan Realm. …… Two months later, above the vast desert of the Guanghan Realm, where the wind carried a yellow, hazy sand, a sudden flash of light appeared. Three strangely shaped, jade-green war chariots, each trailing streaks of green electric arcs, surged forth from afar. After only a few flashes, these three chariots swiftly arrived at close range and suddenly halted in a neat formation at a height of over a hundred paces above the wind-blown sand. Only then could their true forms be clearly seen.
What was visible was that three or four war chariots, though ancient in style, featured exquisite patterns, and under the shimmering green light, various green glyphs of differing sizes danced and pulsed continuously across their surfaces. In front of each chariot stood two strange beasts resembling water buffaloes, clad in green armor, with large, blood-red eyes and occasionally exhaling plumes of green mist from their nostrils. As these plumes dispersed, the temperature of the surrounding space instantly rose, creating a distinct sensation of intense heat. On each of the three chariots, two slender figures stood, and beside them stood a tall, heavily encased automaton in green armor—standing nearly two zhang high, with a sword at his waist, two gleaming silver spears planted behind him, and each hand gripping a reins extending directly to the water buffalo-like creatures. The eyes visible through the green mask of the automaton glowed with an eerie red hue.
As for the short figures aboard the vehicle, each clad in armor and bearing a massive, gleaming wheel on their backs, their faces dotted with gray spots and their teeth prominently exposed, giving them an unusually grotesque appearance. Now, the six short figures inside the vehicle have stopped here, gazing down upon the sandy expanse from a lofty position, constantly exchanging low murmurs. After a brief moment, it seems they have reached a consensus; one of them raises a hand, and suddenly a bronze ancient mirror floats out from his grasp before being thrown downward toward the sand. Amid the roaring wind, the mirror spins smoothly, and a pale blue glow spreads out from its surface, rapidly radiating in all directions. What appeared to be a furious storm of wind and sand instantly calms, the wind ceasing and the sand settling, revealing a remarkably clear scene. In this scene, a vast expanse of ruined palace structures emerges, stretching out before the eyes, its far end completely invisible.
At once, the several short-armed alien figures in the sky brightened with delight, exchanged greetings, and immediately prepared to urge their war chariots forward. But just then, a deep rumble of thunder suddenly rose from the opposite horizon. A massive lightning bolt then erupted, and a sphere of jade-green light appeared on the sky's edge. The sphere shot forth with a burst of force, and after a few thunderclaps, a flash of bright jade-green light cut across the sky, spanning hundreds of paces, and reached the vicinity of the three war chariots. The six short-armed aliens were startled, yet quickly recognized the object within the green light. It was a colossal bird automaton, over twenty paces long, with a golden body, silver head, and green feathers—exactly the famed Thunder Pheasant! What was astonishing, however, was that the automaton's surface bore numerous wounds, its feathers largely torn, and one of its two claws had completely vanished.
Yet, the vivid, brilliant streak of azure lightning that shimmered upon the bird's surface still sent the onlookers gasping in awe, making them utterly unwilling to slight its significance. The six short, alien beings naturally felt equally intimidated. Immediately, one of them emitted a long, resonant cry, and at once, three war chariots roared forth, transforming into three streaks of azure light and charging directly toward the massive automaton. Even before making true contact with the Thunder Pheasant, the three tall, green-armored figures suddenly shook their reins simultaneously. The six bovine-like monsters then roared in unison, opening their mouths wide to unleash waves of azure flames, which surged forth and merged into a vast, rolling sea of fire. At the same time, the six short beings issued a low cry, and with a slight shift of their shoulders, their silver wheels behind them launched into the air. Under the impetus of a precise spell, these treasures suddenly expanded dramatically, swelling into six bright, full moons that surged straight toward the Thunder Pheasant automaton, appearing as if invincible.
The Lei Peng puppet, witnessing this, had its eyes flash with silver light. As its body glowed with a vibrant green arc, the arc surged to nearly double in size. Its single intact massive claw then shot upward, reaching toward the sky. A vivid image of a green giant claw materialized in the heavens, sweeping across the sky like a vast canopy, and immediately descended to grasp the three bronze chariots. Remarkably, the puppet appeared completely indifferent to the silver crescent moon rushing toward it head-on and the surging sea of green flames. This move left the six short, diverse beings utterly stunned, some even beginning to panic. Fortunately, the six had long practiced seamless coordination, and their teamwork was now second nature. Amid one of them shouting in surprise, they swiftly adjusted their spell formations and rapidly pointed upward in unison. Instantly, the six silver moons emitted a resonant hum, converging together and instantly merging into a single, massive circular disc several dozen feet in diameter, which then surged upward with unwavering strength. A tremendous roar echoed through the air—“Boom!”
The massive claw silhouette collided with the disk, erupting into sharp, piercing beams of cyan and silver light. At that moment, the cyan flame surged forward, engulfing the Thunder Phoenix puppet and intertwining it with its protective lightning arcs, occasionally sending out deep rumbling thunderclaps.
