Chapter 1714: The Ranked Warriors

Back to Chapter List
Liu Shui'er saw this, and a faint smile played at her eyes. With a single hand gesture, the ring hummed and instantly transformed into a swirl of emerald light, shooting off toward the other side of the hall. The emerald light flashed, neatly enclosing the weapons and armor as well. Thus, the entire hall was left with only one solitary screen standing alone. After swiftly scanning the whole hall with their consciousness, the two found no other hidden items. With no further hesitation, they hurried toward the outer entrance. To them, being in an unfamiliar space might actually be an advantage—after all, the hall might not contain any true treasures at all, and it was even possible that powerful seals or barriers could temporarily block or trap them. Meanwhile, in the other pavilions and the vast complex of buildings, where the treasures were unclaimed, they were certain to reap significant gains. With this thought in mind, Shi Kun grew calm and composed. Immediately, after a brief consultation with Liu Shui'er outside the hall, they changed direction and each hurried off toward a different side pavilion. Within the nameless space behind the screen, Han Li had already reached the entrance of the great gate. Raising both hands, a surge of five-colored cold flame and a stream of pale, hazy radiance erupted from his palms, continuously striking the massive gate. The golden and silver characters etched on the gate had transformed into a vibrant glow, steadily withstanding the dual assaults of these two divine techniques. As the cold flame and hazy light flashed and penetrated the radiance layer by layer, dissolving it, the characters on the gate seemed endless, instantly forming new glows that surged forth in abundance. Despite sustaining this dual technique for a while, the gate's defenses remained unshaken. Observing this, Han Li frowned, then gently gathered his spiritual light, halting the two techniques. He then clenched his hands and, with a swift motion, placed them opposite. A thunderous boom! Two golden arcs, each as wide as a large bowl, simultaneously shot forth from his palms, swiftly vanishing upon impact and striking the radiant glows on the great gate. A thunderous roar erupted, and the golden arc completely shattered. A brilliant flash of electricity instantly engulfed half of the massive gate. Moments later, the golden light receded, revealing the interior once more. The great gate still shimmered with radiant light, undamaged despite the fierce blow. Such a powerful strike had barely made any impact. Han Li's expression darkened. Before entering this place, when he had taken a detour behind the screen, his extinguished eye power suddenly stirred, nearly losing control. Had it not been for this, he would have struggled to notice the spatial seal entrance on the screen. Upon a sudden thought, he summoned his extinguished eye power and cast a spell, striking the screen with it—successfully breaking the seal and entering effortlessly. Though he did not know where he was nor whether there truly lay treasures beyond the gate, the sheer rarity of this Miraculous Heavenly Realm itself was already a treasure of exceptional value in the spiritual world. It must be something truly extraordinary indeed if the immortals truly wished to store something here or conceal some secret. Even knowing that the seal on this gate was exceptionally unusual, and that Li Shui'er and Shi Kun, who remained outside, might have other plans, he still chose to stay put, showing no intention of leaving. Yet, despite the successive displays of his powers—the Yuanmagnetic Light, the Five-Element Cold Flame, the Divine-Defying Thunder—none of them could penetrate the seal on the gate. This left him deeply troubled. After a moment's thought, he finally opened his mouth and expelled a ball of silver flame. As the flame rolled once, it instantly transformed into a spirit-consuming phoenix, which he then summoned with both hands pressed together in seals. He sequentially cast over a dozen spells at the phoenix, each one flashing with luminous light and vanishing into the bird's body. Instantly, the phoenix raised its neck and emitted a clear, resonant cry, followed by a sharp "zhuā," and its form expanded rapidly, growing to a size of several zhang. The silver giant phoenix spread its wings wide and charged straight toward the main gate with great momentum. Before truly making contact, a flash of silvery light rippled across the firebird's body, and countless shimmering flame-feathers surged forth in all directions, crashing into the golden and silver light veils on the great gate, causing them to tremble and shimmer wildly. A thunderous "boom!" echoed as the massive silver bird plunged headlong into the light veil, its silver flames instantly surging upward. Upon contact with the spirit-consuming flames, the golden and silver light veils boiled like hot water, rapidly dissipating and dissolving. Even though the symbols emerging from the gate continued to pulse without pause, they clearly began to weaken and thin out swiftly. Han Li was pleased to see this. Yet, as soon as a low cry escaped his lips, a deep, dark glow rippled across his body, and his form expanded several times over, golden-yellow fur sprouting across his entire frame, transforming him into a towering golden giant ape with prominent tusks—exactly the form he had recently manifested. With a single hand motion, the black mountain formed from Yuanmagnetic Peak instantly materialized within the cradle of his fur-covered palm. A flash of blue light from the Gigantopithecus genus, and with a single arc of its arm, a mountain several dozen zhang in size instantly roared and rocketed forward. A hurricane swiftly coalesced along the path of the mountain's flight, howling fiercely. With the sheer weight of the Yuanmagnetic Peak itself, augmented by the divine power of the Gigantopithecus fully embodied within it, the force of this throw was truly staggering. The thin veil of light was instantly torn asunder by the mountain, which struck the massive black gate with solid force. A sound like the earth itself shifting and trembling erupted! A dark glow surged forth from the gate. The surrounding void warped and deformed, visibly rippling into concentric waves of white streaks, before being completely absorbed and swallowed by the dark glow, vanishing into darkness. Even with the extraordinary prowess of Han Li, who was momentarily struck with awe by the sheer power of this blow, he hurriedly stepped back, his black aura flickering, and a formidable black armor materializing upon the body of the Gigantopithecus. It was the Heavenly-External Demon Armor! The black glow finally faded and dispersed. Han Li waved his hand, summoning the Yuanmagnetic Peak back to his grasp, then narrowed his eyes and focused intently ahead. To his astonishment, he saw that in the center of the massive black gate, a deep indentation—shaped like the bottom of a pot—had formed, stretching nearly a zhang in depth, perfectly matching the shape of one corner of the Yuanmagnetic Peak. Despite being struck so violently and transformed into this form, the gate had neither cracked nor shattered, instead slowly beginning to restore its original shape, with shimmering silver and golden characters pulsing gently. The material of this gate was clearly extraordinary—remarkable resilience! Clearly, only then would he need to employ that specific technique. Han Li sighed, a quiet smile playing on his lips as he thought: even if he no longer hesitated, the black light on his body would fade, and he would revert to his human form. Yet, as soon as he raised his hand and chanted a spell, a radiant golden light surged over his body. Golden scales, like molten crimson plates, emerged from his skin, and a soft golden aura gently enveloped his face. Then, with a sudden motion, one hand brushed back against the crown of his head! Instantly, a golden figure materialized—three heads and six arms. As all six arms simultaneously moved to form seals, the surface instantly glowed with brilliant golden light, solidifying into a tangible golden form. At that moment, one of the arms of this golden form suddenly reached forward, palm outstretched into the void, and a golden fragment of the blade appeared mysteriously in its grasp—none other than the Xuan Tian Residual Blade. A golden glow swept across the supporting pillars, instantly causing the celestial and primordial qi in the surrounding air to boil and surge. In moments, countless points of vibrant five-colored light emerged densely from the sky, then surged toward the golden blade as if drawn by a flame, vanishing one by one upon reaching it. The blade immediately emitted a clear, melodious chime. "Cut!" Han Li suddenly paused his incantation, then expelled a surge of intense aura. His golden form extended the blade horizontally and struck it across the distant massive gate. A brilliant blade flash flashed forth—initially only a few feet long—but as it traveled several zhangs, it expanded seamlessly into a length of several zhangs. It appeared as if a dreamlike golden moon, silently slicing through the black gate. Though the gate seemed utterly unyielding, upon being struck, a flash of black light rippled across the point of impact, and without any visible sign of resistance, it split cleanly in two, falling inward as two separate halves. Han Li was overjoyed, and without hesitation, he drew his golden form and instantly shot forth. A flash of residual shadow, and Han Li had already passed through the shattered gate, emerging into the inner realm. As soon as he appeared, he scanned the surroundings with his eyes and extended his vast spiritual awareness. To his astonishment, his expression instantly turned shocked. The world behind the gate was revealed as a small plaza, glowing with shimmering green light, surrounded entirely by gray barriers. Beyond the massive entrance gate, there were no other portals. The plaza was otherwise empty, save for a strange, circular platform at its center, upon which faint traces of something else seemed to be present. Han Li withdrew his spiritual awareness, his eyes narrowing slightly as he stepped forward. A moment later, he reached the vicinity of the platform, shifted his stance to the edge, and glanced upward. The platform was spacious, measuring over thirty zhang in width. Etched upon the ground is a splendid pattern depicting the sun, moon, stars, and celestial constellations, with stars of varying sizes vividly rendered, almost covering the entire platform. At the center of the pattern stands an elegant, emerald-green throne, imposing and grand. In addition, nine silver objects, each one person-high, stand upright along the platform's edges, motionless. Clearly, they are nine silver infantrymen, each armed with a long spear, fully clad in armor, their helmets and breastplates gleaming. Aside from their dark, featureless eyes, they reveal not a single trace of skin—appearing either as puppets or as statues, lifeless beings. Yet their postures seem somewhat unusual: instead of holding their spears in both hands, they place one hand on their chests, making incantatory gestures, while gripping the midsection of their spears with the other, pointing the spear tip straight upward. All nine silver infantrymen perform this identical gesture.
