Chapter 1952: Feint to the East, Strike to the West

Back to Chapter List
The colossal jade disk had transformed into a brilliant, blazing sun, its crimson spiritual glow completely enveloping the valley below. Within this radiant light, countless faint silver glyphs shimmered incessantly, as though harboring some mysterious power. Inside the disk, three figures in blood-glow forms stood shoulder to shoulder, pressing hand seals and their bodies pulsing with blood-light, gazing steadily at the crystalline wall without blinking. On the crystalline wall, one by one, crimson spheres moved throughout the valley, freely traversing both sky and earth, encountering no obstruction whatsoever. As these spheres moved, the image on the wall shifted constantly, yet beyond stones, trees, and some unenlightened wild beasts, nothing else stood out. The three figures' faces grew increasingly gloomy, yet they continued to summon and direct the spheres, diligently inspecting every corner of the valley. Not long after, a roar echoed from the rear sky, and a brilliant white light surged from the heavens. It was Yuan Sha, riding the stone pavilion, arriving at this spot. The pavilion, nearly trembling as it flew, finally slowed and came to a halt some thousand zhang beyond the jade disk, its flight energy ceasing abruptly. At the same moment, a flash of white light shimmered on the crystalline wall within the jade disk, and a graceful figure materialized. "Master Yuan Sha, you've finally arrived," the blood-light form in the center said, smiling slightly upon seeing the woman's image. "Let's skip the formalities. Has that young man truly been trapped in the valley?" Yuan Sha glanced at the three of them and replied calmly. "Indeed, I have no reason to deceive you. After I caught him, he attempted to slip beneath the ground, hoping to escape using earth-bound movement. In that moment, I took the opportunity to seal this area with the Heaven and Earth Disk, effectively trapping him outside. Yet, I cannot quite fathom the technique he has employed—some form of concealment that has eluded me entirely." "This will truly be a favor to Yuan Sha, my dear." The second blood-light incarnation replied with a slightly cool tone. "Yes, that's the best. I'll personally employ my Magi Yuan to compel this young one to emerge." Yuan Sha nodded and readily agreed. "Don't worry—let one of us accompany you to the valley. We can offer some protection, in case he attempts a surprise attack en route." The third blood-light incarnation spoke coldly. "Protection? Hmph. Isn't that just another way of saying you'd like to keep an eye on me?" The woman, upon hearing this, didn't react with displeasure; instead, her expression darkened slightly. "Ah, Yuan Sha, don't misunderstand! This young one is clever and possesses several valuable treasures—these factors warrant vigilance." The middle blood-light incarnation chuckled softly. "As you wish. If you'd like someone to join you, I won't object. But please, don't make any other moves. Should anything go wrong, don't expect me to be lenient." After a few flickers of her gaze, the woman replied evenly and composedly. Then, without waiting for Blood Light to respond, the woman suddenly vanished from the crystal wall, her fingers moving in a series of gestures. "Good. As previously agreed. You go monitor her. As soon as the young man is truly found, inform us immediately. We must not allow him to fall into Yuan Sha's hands first." Blood Light's expression on his face instantly faded, turning grave as he turned to the other incarnation. "Rest assured, I will adapt as needed. Though the young man may currently lack sufficient power, he will certainly not be caught by Yuan Sha in just a few moves. However, until he appears, you must not loosen the seal on the Qiun Pan—should he attempt to slip away again." The incarnation nodded, but added a few more assurances. The remaining two simply nodded in agreement. ...At the same time, far off, the stone pavilion suddenly erupted in a deep, resonant roar. Countless symbols on its surface flashed, and it split right down the middle, reforming into two towering stone figures. Yuan Sha, this young lady, stood gracefully atop one of the stone figures, and with a single gesture of her fingers, caused the two stone giants to descend straight toward the center of the valley. At the same time, a swirl of blood light surged from the jade disk, with a faint silhouette of blood within it flashing and darting downward as well. A short while later, Yuan Sha and a young man dressed in a crimson robe landed upon a patch of broken stone ground on a platform within the valley. "This must be it," Yuan Sha said, surveying the surroundings, and then gave a command to the two stone giants beside her. "Yes, Yuan Sha!" The two stone figures immediately responded with a resonant hum. Rolling onto the ground, they emitted a bright gray-white glow, instantly transforming into two towering stone pillars over a hundred paces high, their surfaces engraved with strange patterns and symbols, appearing profoundly mysterious. "The Stone Luan Totem! Remarkable—never expected your two subordinates to have mastered something so advanced," the young man in the crimson robe remarked, marveling at the sight. "Among the Stone Demon clan, though their cultivation might not rank in the top three, they are certainly among the top ten. If they can't even manage this, then why have I protected this lineage for so many years in the Sacred Realm?" Yuan Sha said without hesitation. "Hehe. If my own Stone Demon clan had Stone Demon elders with such profound cultivation, I would have protected them just as steadfastly. Well, let's set that aside. Master, when you summoned these totems, did you intend to use them to enhance the potency of your magical essence?" The young man in the blood-red robe stroked his chin, chuckling. "Since even you, with your celestial and terrestrial disk, have been unable to locate the young Han, relying solely on magical essence might not guarantee success. But with the Stone Lu totems providing support, the outcome will be certain." Yuan Sha replied calmly, as if there was no intention to conceal anything. Upon hearing this, the young man in the blood-red robe nodded and remained silent, standing by. Yuan Sha likewise had no desire to speak further, and at once moved his body, appearing precisely between the two stone pillars. A flash of white light, and a simple, ancient stone platform erupted from the ground with a thunderous roar, lifting the woman several dozen feet into the air. Yuan Sha took a deep breath, pressed his palm into a seal with one hand, and with the other, flung his sleeve outward—ten slender black flags shot into the air, spiraling before settling steadily on the ground around the platform, where they remained firmly planted. The woman gave a sharp cry, and a surge of black light burst forth from behind her, twisting and expanding into a colossal demonic form with three heads and six arms! This great demon wore a dark, lustrous armor, radiating an overwhelming and terrifying aura of malevolence. Its six eyes burned crimson, emotionless and unyielding. The woman murmured a low incantation, then suddenly raised her hand, casting a series of delicate hand seals toward the surrounding space—each one vanishing instantly into the void. The black flags instantly emitted a humming resonance, their dark glow surging and expanding rapidly, soon swelling into a colossal creature several dozen feet tall. At that moment, the great magical form behind Yuan Sha suddenly stirred, lifting its head and extending one of its six arms upward, grasping firmly. Six black luminous orbs spun gently into formation within the palm of his hand, then burst into six streams of black vapor, rising steadily toward the sky. In an instant, a dense mass of magical clouds formed above, subtly shifting and morphing into the shapes of birds and beasts, as though endowed with a living spirit. Observing this scene, Yuan Sha paused his incantations, then raised a single finger and gently touched each of the banners in succession. The surface of the banners shimmered with dark radiance, swiftly transforming into several streams of black mist that surged upward. Within moments, the magical cloud expanded rapidly, rolling and rumbling with a deep, resonant thunder, nearly enveloping half the valley beneath it. Yuan Sha's expression was solemn. With a flash of cold light in his eyes, he suddenly opened his mouth and expelled several clusters of pure blood toward the celestial magic clouds above. These clusters of blood, upon meeting the wind, transformed into scattered drops of blood rain, and in a single motion, silently dissolved into the clouds. At that moment, the totem figures formed by the two stone pillars also emitted concentric rings of five-colored light halos. Each time these halos swept across the dark clouds, the magic clouds surged and expanded significantly. Not long afterward, a flash of blood light erupted within the clouds, and countless blood threads emerged, weaving and swirling with the dark clouds until they coalesced into numerous clusters of black energy, each about the size of a clenched fist. After a brief undulation, these black masses directly solidified into dozens of black crows, each roughly the size of a palm. The crows' calls rang out in unison, filling the sky with a dense, overwhelming chorus—so numerous that it sent a shiver of dread through the onlookers. "Go," Yuan Sha gently waved his sleeve, issuing a clear, composed command. As the black crows took flight, they swiftly and densely surged toward The young woman closed her eyes on the stone platform and pressed her finger gently against her brow, silently sensing something. At the side, the blood-light embodiment glanced toward where the crows had settled, his expression briefly stirred, then remained motionless. The crows themselves seemed formless—touching any mountain, stone, tree, or riverbank, they simply vanished silently, without a sound. In a short while, they had explored half the valley and even reached deep into the earth, thousands of feet below. Yet, still no results emerged. When the crows were summoned back by Yuansha and surged off in a new direction, a sharp, piercing hum suddenly arose from the blood-robed youth. Startled, he quickly struck his hand against his waist. Instantly, a crystal sphere the size of an egg shot forth and shimmered into a translucent, radiant screen. Within the screen, the blood-light flickered, and two other embodiments stood side by side. "Unfortunate," he murmured, "we must urgently summon Yuansha back." We've just received word that another "Han Li" suddenly appeared at our last several defensive lines we had set up, breaking through multiple waves of interception and eliminating two trusted assistants of the Magi-Grade, before fleeing toward Tianyuan City. "This 'Han Li' must be the true one—he's activated the Xuan Tian Remnant Treasure and released the Gold-Eating Insect Swarms. Clearly, he's the original body. The one before us is merely a manifestation. We've both been deceived by his 'Golden Cicada Shedding' strategy. We've already dispatched orders to pursue him relentlessly, and now that we're rushing over, we still have time to catch up!" The two blood-light manifestations exchanged expressions of shock and outrage, speaking rapidly and interrupting each other. "What? Really like this? Yuan Sha, did you hear this? Immediately summon your spell and prepare to leave right away. We won't bother with that manifestation anymore." Upon understanding, the young man in the blood robe grew visibly displeased, turning sharply and shouting urgently to the woman on the stone dais.
