The tall man, actively stirring the fading traces of the Guangyin Jade Mirror in the air, was instantly startled upon hearing the sound. His spiritual awareness swiftly swept downward toward the dark mist. The agonized cry he had just heard was unmistakably that of one of his white family disciples. Under normal circumstances, with his level of cultivation, he would have instantly grasped the situation within the spell array. But now, under severe strain of his own cultivation and impeded by the power of the array, he could only perceive it vaguely—clearly sensing that one of the original six disciples' essences had vanished. As the elderly man was still stunned and had not yet reacted, two more cries of agony followed one after another from within the dark mist. Then, two more white family disciples' essences disappeared in an eerie manner. "Senior! Save us!" A figure suddenly burst forth from the dark mist, the voice of a white family disciple shouting wildly, and shot straight toward the nearest, Lu Long Tianjun. Yet, even with full effort in flight, how fast could he possibly move through this sea of flames?
Yet Lord Luan Long remained motionless, his expression shifting slightly. The elder-looking disciple of Bai Family, witnessing this, immediately fell into a state of despair, having barely opened his mouth to launch a scathing accusation. As he rolled out from where the black mist had surged, a beam of white light surged forth, arriving just as the attack reached its peak—unaffected by the force of the blazing fire—and struck the Bai Family disciple ahead with a sudden flash. With a cry of agony, the elder's protective magical aura dispersed, and his entire head rolled lifelessly to the ground. Suddenly, a second, blurred head emerged from the base of his neck, glowing faintly with white light, yet its gaze sharp and blood-red, coldly fixing upon Lord Luan Long. When Lord Luan Long met the gaze of this luminous, blood-streaked head, an overwhelming sense of icy dread surged from his crown, cascading down his entire body, as if his blood had instantly frozen. Startled, he shook his sleeve, and a bone shield shot forth, emitting ghostly wails, shielding him in front.
At that moment, two soft puffs of sound echoed within the black mist, and Bai Yunxin, along with another disciple from the Bai family, emerged with faces filled with terror. One rushed toward Han Qi, while the other fled toward Han Qizǐ. The strange head that had appeared on the elder's neck stared blankly at both of them for a moment before suddenly glowing white and shooting out from the elder's body. It then blurred slightly, dividing into two parts and darting toward Bai Yunxin and the other disciple. In a flash, it materialized a short distance behind both of them.
"Senior, save us!" "Senior Han!" Upon seeing this, the other Bai family disciple and Bai Yunxin both screamed in sheer panic, instantly summoning several protective magical artifacts to shield themselves—some transforming into layers of dark mist, others into cascading waves of radiant light. Yet the white glow seemed formless, effortlessly passing through both the dark mist and the radiant light, and merely flashing once, it directly entered their bodies.
At that very moment, Bai Yunxin and the other Bai family disciple both cried out simultaneously as their heads rolled down, revealing two more pale, misty heads. The speed of this white glow was so swift that Han Li and Han Qixi had no time to intervene. Both of them exchanged slightly concerned glances. Had it not been for the fact that they could not use their flight spells and were trapped within the fiery seal, rescuing these two Bai family disciples would have been quite manageable. Yet now, they could only watch helplessly as Bai Yunxin and the other fell right there, right then. Han Li glanced at the body of the elderly man who had just detached from the white glow, only to find that the corpse had shriveled into a dry, lifeless mass, with all its flesh and blood completely gone—exactly as the remains of several other Bai family disciples found earlier in the mine passage had been. It seemed that the several members of the Bai family stationed at their outpost had all perished at the hands of this unknown monster.
Yet these two separated monsters seemed to realize that the others were not as easily defeated as the six previously slain. Though they had taken possession of the bodies of two Bai family Liangxu disciples, they merely stared coldly at Han Li and the others with their vivid red eyes, choosing not to launch any sudden attacks. This very restraint—indicating a high level of spiritual intelligence—only deepened the apprehension of the elder demons, such as Luan Long Tianjun and Han Qi Zi. The Bai family giant and the purple-haired woman, after witnessing the split-bodied manifestation, exchanged glances and immediately saw expressions of astonishment and anger in each other's eyes. With quick murmurs, they passed on their thoughts. Then, the bearded man suddenly roared at Han Li, saying, "Friend Han, you and your younger sister take care of these monsters first. I will handle the remaining beast alongside Luan Long and Friend Han Qi Zi. Once we have dealt with this one, we will join forces with you to face the other monster."
As soon as she finished speaking, the white armor of the purple-haired woman suddenly radiated brilliant light, pushing back the surrounding crimson flames and swiftly advancing toward Han Li. Upon hearing this, Han Qi-zi's eyes darkened momentarily, and his surface of over ten clusters of cold light instantly spun around without hesitation, swiftly cutting through the flames to head toward Lu Tan, the Lord of Dragon, and the bearded man. With such a pressing crisis at hand, there was no time for debate—clearly, the seemingly cold Magus had accepted the suggestion of the bearded man. Han Li smiled faintly, showing no opposition. Only after the purple-haired woman had drifted several dozen paces away from him did he send a voice message: "Overseer Fu Tian, this creature is so strange and unusual—do you know anything about its origins?" "I must admit some regret, for I have never seen anything like this before. However, I once read an ancient, rare book that described a type of magical spirit, which appears somewhat similar to the creature before us. Yet I cannot be certain whether it is indeed this very spirit."
The purple-haired woman hesitated before slowly responding. "A magical spirit?" Hearing this, Han Li's expression instantly tightened. Though the woman's words were somewhat vague, it was clear that this magical spirit was no easy opponent. "Indeed. I suspect this creature may have been formed from the spiritual energy of the mineral veins beneath us—a true magical spirit! If that's the case, then this spirit would be intangible and invulnerable to blades and swords, immune to water and fire, and even unaffected by escape techniques as long as it remains within the mineral veins. Yet I still don't understand why it has allied itself with the beastly creatures. We must therefore remain vigilant!" The purple-haired woman transmitted her words carefully. "Ah, that makes sense. Then I'll test whether it truly withstands blades and swords!" Han Li glanced at Bai Yunxin's body, now completely enveloped in white light, and a streak of cold light flashed across his eyes as he spoke. Then he glanced at the yellow-haired man and the three other magi—Han Qi and his two companions—who had now launched another counterattack against the molten giant formed by the beast.
In addition to manipulating the Guangyin Treasure Banner, the Dahan also launched a pair of iron hooks imbued with extraordinary black qi, spiraling and rolling continuously around the molten-rock giant, each strike leaving behind a large, bowl-sized hole on the giant’s body. Meanwhile, Luan Long Tianjun’s form suddenly expanded several times over; with a single exhalation, he emitted a strange, purple-hued wind that steadily pushed the blazing flame sea back, inch by inch, toward the periphery. Han Qi Zi, on the other hand, transformed his body into a translucent, crystalline ice sculpture, radiating waves of intense cold with every movement, fully unleashing his mastery of extreme cold techniques. Though the deer-headed monster was formidable, it soon found itself at a disadvantage when confronted with the combined powers of the three magi, especially when those powers were mutually reinforcing and counteracting. Nevertheless, despite the significant damage inflicted upon its surface, the molten rock covering could endure thanks to the endless supply of healing from the underlying molten lake, allowing it to remain resilient and posing a challenge even to the three magi, who could not yet deliver a decisive blow.
Seeing this, Han Li's face remained unchanged, yet with a sudden, effortless gesture of his hand, a flash of emerald light revealed a three-foot-long sword shimmering with a pale green hue, which he then struck through the space where the monster now occupied Bai Yunxin's body. The sword flashed once and vanished from Han Li's hand as if it had never been there—yet at the very next instant, a ripple of energy surged from Bai Yunxin's lifeless body, and a strand of translucent green crystal materialized, flowing gently downward like a breeze.
At that moment, the two separated heads shot out of their bodies, merging in midair into a pale, hazy light, which then surged straight toward Han Li. Though Han Li's divine awareness was exceptionally strong and naturally unbothered by the opponent's sharp sonic attacks, the undisturbed advance of this light through the flames caught his eyes momentarily, narrowing them slightly. Suddenly, one of his sleeves fluttered forward, and dozens of slender jade swords shot out, instantly transforming into equally slender crystalline filaments that intercepted the light. As the light passed through, its form momentarily stabilized, bearing dozens of faint green traces, then splitting into numerous fragments of varying sizes. Yet what astonished everyone was that these fragments merely flashed once and immediately reassembled into their original form, maintaining their original speed and momentum, and continued their charge toward Han Li. "Indeed, neither blade nor sword can harm it. Clearly, this is a true magical spirit born from the mineral veins of this very location."
Han Li's face remained utterly unchanged as he murmured softly, but suddenly his other sleeve trembled, sending a cluster of silver flames shooting forth. The flames spun smoothly and precisely struck the restored white light. "Boom!" A tremendous sound erupted. The silver flames surged several feet high, instantly engulfing the light. The woman with purple hair, monitoring the other head of the magical spirit, naturally kept a close eye on Han Li's actions. Just as she thought the silver flames would be powerless against the spirit, a surprising development occurred. After being enveloped by the flames for a moment, the light began to emit an increasingly piercing cry, and suddenly went berserk, rolling wildly in place as if trying to extinguish the flames on its body.
