It was clearly unexpected by the three mine slaves. After a moment of exchanging glances, their eyes eventually settled on the middle slave. This caused the magical race's face to change several times, and he silently groaned inwardly, knowing that several matters the group had been reluctant to mention would now inevitably come to light. With a further苦笑, the middle slave finally replied, "Indeed, the previously discovered rare magical gold had already been completely extracted before the mine passage collapsed. However, over the past few days while we've been trapped here, in our frantic efforts to dig for an escape route, we've by accident uncovered another branch tunnel rich in rare magical gold. Yet, with our limited abilities, we are unable to extract it independently—so we've simply sealed the discovery site with rubble and soil. If the noble wishes to see it, I shall gladly lead the way." "So there is still rare magical gold yet to be extracted."
Those men might well have known about it, but they simply felt the matter had dragged on too long and were unwilling to press further. That’s fine—then I’ll take all of it as a gift. Still, before that, I’d like to see the exact locations where the incidents occurred. Han Li chuckled and added another order. "Yes, sir!" The middle miner was a bit puzzled, yet dared not hesitate, and promptly agreed. Then, under Han Li’s simple gesture, the three miners rose with careful, nervous movements and began to lead the way out of the cavern. Within half an hour, Han Li had inspected all the places he wished to see, including the newly discovered mine that had since been covered over, which the three had pointed out. "Excellent," Han Li said, finally showing his satisfaction. "Since you’ve told the truth, I’ll ensure you all a safe path ahead!" With a wave of his sleeve, a vast expanse of azure light surged forth.
Three mine servants only felt a flash of emerald light, then a sensation of spinning and turning, and suddenly found themselves standing mere steps from the collapsed area. At that moment, a ripple of movement nearby revealed Han Li stepping into view silently. Seeing this, the three servants were both delighted and apprehensive, unsure whether Han Li would truly fulfill his promise to escort them out. Yet Han Li paid them no attention, merely lifting his arm and spreading his fingers outward toward the pile of rubble before him, then softly murmuring the word, "Break." Instantly, a golden glow emanated from his palm, forming a luminous golden orb. A thunderous roar followed, and the orb erupted into a brilliant beam of light. A deep, resonant "pop" sounded, and a surge of warm wind immediately rushed against them. From within the rubble, a passage of several zhang in diameter had suddenly appeared, its edges molten and reddened, only to quickly cool and darken within moments. "I have cleared a new path for you," Han Li said. "Follow this passage and go."
Han Li glanced at the three mine slaves, spoke calmly, and then his form blurred, vanishing like a ghost right where he stood. The three mine slaves, witnessing this, were overjoyed, rushed to where Han Li had disappeared, bowed deeply once more, and immediately began rushing into the passage together. Though the interior remained intensely hot, the three slaves gritted their teeth and pressed on, paying it no mind. … Meanwhile, Han Li had returned to the areas he had previously passed through, cast a spell to draw out several fine strands of greenish gas from the surrounding underground, carefully collecting them into a small vial, and then proceeded to the hidden site of the Strange Magical Gold ore. These greenish gases were naturally the transformed Earth Qi of the Yin nature, which had previously been residing within the mine slaves. When those slaves had lost their vital essence and perished, the gases had retracted into the underground, temporarily withdrawing from causing harm.
Fortunately, when the Untroubled Party arrived to inspect the area, they were solely concerned with the matter of the Strange Magical Golden Stone and merely passed through quickly, without conducting a thorough examination of these locations. Otherwise, should they have detected these Earth-Deity阴 energies, they might have stirred up yet another disturbance. As for the newly discovered Strange Magical Gold deposit, though referred to as a separate mine, it was actually merely located adjacent to the original mine shaft. The three mine slaves only dug out a distance of over ten zhang before they discovered its presence. Based on the positions of the released煞阴 energies, Han Li carefully analyzed and concluded that if the Yin-Yang Five-Element True Light truly existed, it would most likely lie beneath this branch mine. Thus, after dispatching the three magical race mine slaves, he returned directly to the branch mine and, without hesitation, shook his sleeve. Several clusters of jade-green light shot out from his sleeve and, as they swayed, transformed into a series of jade-green ape-like automata, each standing over a zhang tall, with fierce appearances and radiating a cold aura.
With a mere surge of his divine awareness, the fingers of these puppets instantly sprouted slender beams of white light, several inches long, which then moved in perfect order into the mineral division passage, beginning to vigorously extract the strange magical gold.
After completing this, Han Li paused thoughtfully, and then a faint golden outline emerged from within his sleeve.
The golden form stabilized and transformed into a small, pale golden creature—none other than the Leopard-Phoenix beast!
Clearly, the beast had been dozing peacefully within the animal ring; though now released, its eyes had only just opened, and it looked utterly bewildered, appearing remarkably endearing.
Han Li found this rather amusing. After uttering a simple command—“Keep an eye on these puppets and ensure no outsiders enter”—he flashed a yellow glow over his body and instantly vanished into the ground.
The golden creature blinked several times, gradually understanding the situation. With a low roar, it leapt into action, and in a single bound, entered the mineral division passage to oversee the ape puppets.
Time passed thus, one moment after another.
A dozen young qing yuan puppets, each with the cultivation level of a Yuan Jin Dan stage, simultaneously activated the white glow from their ten fingers. The originally hard and iron-like soil, which had previously required hundreds of mining slaves several months to excavate, was now effortlessly split open, like tofu, and revealed blocks of strange and demonic golden ore. What had once taken months of labor was now completely cleared within just a few hours. As a result, the small creature simply gathered all the strange and demonic golden ore into a single storage bracelet and then stood beside the motionless qing yuans, idly waiting. After another hour or so, the bao lin beast, growing increasingly impatient while resting in a corner, was about to rise and walk around when suddenly the entire mine passage shook violently, with countless fragments of stone cascading down from the crumbling walls on either side, as if the entire structure were about to collapse. The bao lin beast froze momentarily, then immediately launched into several swift ethereal forms.
Instantly, as a flash of golden light swept across, a dozen jade-colored puppets vanished in an instant. Then, all the spectral forms merged into one, transforming into a brilliant golden arch that pierced through the roof of the mine passage and plunged straight downward toward the ground. Just as the Leopard-Mounted Beast had barely taken flight, the mine passage erupted in a thunderous roar and finally collapsed. A cascade of rubble tumbled down, sealing the passage completely. At the same time, atop the surface, a towering, straight peak groaned under successive, intense tremors and collapsed with a tremendous crash. A surge of dust swept outward, carrying vast boulders and fragments rolling in all directions. The force was so powerful it seemed as though heaven and earth had split apart. A sharp cry burst forth, and a golden figure swiftly emerged from among the mountains, spiraling before stabilizing in the sky, revealing the form of a small golden creature. This creature gazed steadily at the collapsing mountain range below, its eyes reflecting a growing sense of anxiety.
And almost at the same instant, a thunderclap erupted from below! The massive peak at its original site burst open as if a volcano had erupted, sending stones of all sizes soaring skyward like a sudden downpour. The Leopard-Phoenix creature was startled by this sight, but immediately swiftly slashed its forepaw through the air. "Shhh-shhh!" A dense array of golden paw shadows sprang up, sweeping across the sky and catching every stone aimed at it, shattering them instantly. Yet the small golden creature kept its eyes fixed firmly on the scene below, never blinking. A long, resonant roar, like that of a dragon, rose from below. In an instant, a streak of jade-green light flashed, and a blade of light several dozen feet long burst upward from the ground, radiating a brilliant, piercing glow. Wherever this beam passed, the stones blocking its way were instantly pulverized.
In the shimmering green light, Han Li appeared mid-air, his face slightly pale. Yet strangely, in one hand he held a bright green glow, within which a jade-green stone of fist-sized appeared faintly, while in the other he clutched a golden, towering sword nearly ten feet long, gazing downward at the chaotic ground with a sense of solemnity.
Upon seeing this, the Bao Lin beast was overjoyed. With a low roar, it leapt forward, materializing in a blurred form beside Han Li, then gently nuzzled his leg with its soft, furry head.
Han Li turned to the small creature, smiled at it, and patted its head, saying, "Be careful—there's a big one down there that won't be easy to handle. I think we'll have to really put in some effort."
Hearing of an enemy, the golden creature didn't react with alarm but instead grew excited. With a loud roar, its golden patterns flashed brightly, and its body expanded rapidly, transforming within moments into a massive golden beast several zhang long.
A sudden series of furious, guttural "gurgle" sounds erupted from below! Then, the earth trembled several times, shaking with a wave-like rhythm, and suddenly, a massive, deep-yellow creature surged upward from the ground, rising like a mountain peak, its head bearing a dozen compound eyes glaring fiercely at Han Li in the sky. This creature not only stood tall, resembling a mountain, but its pale yellow skin was covered in numerous stones of various sizes and colors—some even translucent, appearing to be rare, valuable mineral deposits. "Magnetic Light Beast! I've heard of this fierce creature before, but never imagined I'd see one here. I suspect that the reason my Yin-Yang Five-Element True Light crystal has been drifting erratically underground is largely due to this very creature's presence."
This would also work well. The beast has likely accompanied the fundamental essence of the Five Great Elements of Yin and Yang for many years, and already possesses a portion of the power of the Five Great Elements' true light. If captured and refined, it should be sufficient to gather the required materials for Jishan. Han Li examined the green stone in his hands, then glanced at the massive creature below, and suddenly spoke to himself in a soft tone.
