A deep blue, gently pulsing, boundless sea unfolded before the members of the Silver City exploration team, no longer merely a record in ancient texts or a collection of words spoken by a stranger. Though still distant, it now seemed within reach. Antirina, with her wine-red hair, gazed at it with rapt fascination, opened her mouth as if to express something profound, yet all that emerged was the single word: "The sea..." As soon as she finished speaking, a silver-white crack appeared suddenly on her forehead. It surged rapidly up and down, instantly splitting Antirina into two halves, and warm, bright red blood erupted, soaking the face and shoulders of Deric. Without a sound, countless streaks of silver-white light burst forth from within Antirina, scattering her body into countless fragments of flesh and blood.
The face, filled with hope and rapt attention, resembled a puzzle piece scattered across the ground—shattering into one piece after another. It was only then that "The Hunter," Colin, finally came to his senses, raising his two straight swords—one sweeping horizontally, the other slashing diagonally—as if confronting an invisible foe.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Silver flashes shimmered, and the sound of metal meeting metal echoed through the air, shattering the morning light around Colin Iliad, scattering it into chaos.
At that moment, the silvery-white silhouette behind "The Shepherd" Loviara stepped forward and firmly planted the blurred greatsword into the ground.
Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!
Across the city of Silver, silver-edged sharpness emerged at various points, relentlessly cutting through the surrounding invisible barriers—like insects struggling desperately within amber.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
Then, the silver light emerged in both fine and broad streams, continuously weakening the protective force enveloping the exploration team, threatening to shatter at any moment. Yet, neither the "Hunter," Colin, nor the "Shepherd," Lovianna, nor the others could detect the enemy's presence. As the "Fool" Kaine, hovering above the gray mist, prepared to offer a subtle cue, the chief of the "Council of Six" suddenly seemed to have an idea and crossed his two straight swords in front of him.
Crash! The immense silver light struck the swords, driving the "Hunter" Colin's feet deep into the solid stone floor. Seizing the moment, he roared loudly, "Domain of No Darkness!"
Upon receiving the chief's signal, Deric hesitated not at all, and with a firm thrust, drove his finger into the thorned tip of the "Cross of No Darkness." As blood flowed freely from the wound—clear, bright, pure, and vibrant—a brilliant surge of light erupted, instantly illuminating the entire area between the two buildings.
In this region, not a single shadow remains, nothing can hide—light reigns supreme. A massive figure swiftly outlines itself against the side of the King of Giants' palace. It wears a silver full-body armor, standing nearly five meters tall, and behind its face mask, instead of flickering deep red or orange glows, there is a solid, upright eye that stands clearly visible.
This is a giant—alive, indeed.
It does not wait for enemies to enter its defensive range before launching an attack; it possesses sufficient wisdom.
Unlike other silver-armored knights, this giant's armplates bear distinct patterns: one on the right, in vivid red, encircling the arm once, and another on the left at the same position, adorned with black patches.
Raising his broad sword, the giant points toward the people of the City of Silver and speaks with a thunderous voice:
"Have you the audacity to invade the royal court and disturb the slumber of Lord Sasriel!"
Sasriel? The Lord Sasriel—the Dark Angel Sasriel?
The "Fool" Kline, hovering above the gray mist, was startled, instinctively straightening himself. Once the Left Hand of God, the Deputy King of Heaven, the leader of the Angels, one of the two heads of the "Salvation Rose"—had not vanished into the long river of history? Instead, He slept deep within the heart of the "Kingdom of the Giants," within the very dwelling of the Giant King? Why had He chosen to sleep? A cascade of thoughts flashed through Kline's mind. Without conscious effort, his gaze shifted toward the palace guarded by the Giant Knights. It was the tallest and most magnificent structure of the "Kingdom of the Giants." The golden light of dusk seemed to take on substance, coating its surface and lending it a clear sense of decay—like the close of an evening, with the eternal night drawing near. Flanking the palace were one slender tower and one rounded tower, with the main entrance opening directly opposite. Dominated by shades of gray and blue, it soared well over ten meters in height, adorned with a symmetrical array of symbols, emblems, and motifs—both majestic and enigmatic.
At a height of three or four meters, on the left side of the doorframe, there was a dark hole, roughly the size of an adult's fist.
Witnessing this, Caine suddenly recalled a past "dream divination" he had performed. Back then, he had seen an identical scene, and the medium for the divination had been a giant's key obtained from the "Ice Mountain Knight."
Was this the key to open the giant king's palace? As he reached out to summon it, Caine tried to use his "true vision" to penetrate the building's obstruction and glimpse the interior of the palace.
Unfortunately, he failed—instead, the large black iron key of seven-stringed size settled in front of him. At that moment, the "Dragon Hunter" Colin, having anticipated the giant knight's attack, suddenly spoke up:
"Are you a 'Royal Court Pursuer'?"
The giant knight's broad sword remained raised, and he paused for a moment before speaking in a deep, resonant tone:
"Over the course of such a long time, it's surprising that someone still remembers the 'Royal Court Pursuer.'"
"I am the leader of all the hunters, 'The Slayer of Light' Milgorgen, who later followed Lord Salsir. 'I have slain mighty dragons, elves, demons, maglows, and immortals. Today, to fall beneath my blade is your honor.'
This attack came forth so strangely, as if spontaneously generated within that realm of void. At the same time, Colin Iliad, who had plunged to the ground, underwent a transformation—his garments were torn into fragments and strips by the rapidly expanding muscles. In the mere blink of an eye, this "Hunter of Monsters" became a four-meter-tall giant, his body darkly knotted and streaked with gray-blue hues, marked by deep,幽black fissures on his forehead. Every part of him radiated immense power, boundless mystery, and peculiar spiritual influence. Any extraordinary being below Sequence 4 would be profoundly struck by this sight, likely experiencing severe, almost disorienting neural pain that could drive them mad, with their spiritual essence being contaminated. Should they be unable to endure such effects, madness, loss of control, or even death would become inevitable. This was the incomplete mythic form of a half-god.
Originally, Colin Iliath had been hesitant to unleash this state under the influence of "Dusk" within the "Hall of the Giants," but now, he discovered that within the "Domain of No Darkness," the sense of decay and desolation had significantly diminished. He then lifted the two straight swords, now glowing with the radiance of dawn and having grown in size, and engaged in a fierce battle with "Slayer of Light" Milgorgen within the realm illuminated by light, free from any shadow. Clang! Clang! Clang! The three swords of the two giants collided and separated in turn. Though Colin Iliath was gradually falling behind, he firmly withstood the attacks of the chief of the "Hall of the Giants' Pursuers." From time to time, he would suddenly experience a strong sense of impending danger, then leap or roll or bounce without warning, shifting his position to a new direction. At such moments, the place where he had previously stood would always burst forth with streaks of silver light, radiating outward.
Derek had already closed his eyes, disregarding the flow of blood, striving to maintain the "Domain of No Dark." Heinm and another "Dawn Knight" likewise refused to open their eyes, assisting the elder shepherd, Loviya, to guide the group slowly and steadily toward the palace they had just emerged from, without breaking their protective aura. Without the aid of the silver-armored knightly spirit, they would have long since been torn into fragmented pieces by the sweeping "Storm of Light," the cascading streaks of silver light appearing everywhere, and the intense tremors shaking the ground. The "Slayer of Light," Milgongen, had pressed the small expedition from Silver City to the brink of collapse, leaving them with no chance for counterattack. Indeed, as the leader of the "Court Pursuers," this performance should rank among the very elite—second only to the divine or angelic tier—when compared to the "Beast Hunters." The "Silver Knights" possessed several remarkable, exceptional abilities beyond those of the "Hunters." High above the gray mist, the "Fool" Kaine held the "Poseidon's Staff" and carefully observed the battlefield.
He soon grasped what made the "Light-Slayer" Milgorgen so powerful.
"First, the protective force has solidified into a silver full-body armor. Second, it can draw upon light to conceal itself and mask its intentions. Third, the 'Dawn Sword' it channels no longer lasts only for a brief duration—it now functions as a standard weapon, sharp and effective at purifying. Fourth, it can generate a slender, silver-white blade that possesses the ability to transmit—capable of bypassing most barriers, directly striking the target, even erupting from within the target itself. Moreover, the emergence of this silver-white blade is often unanticipated, making it difficult to predict.
That is precisely why the "Light-Slayer" Milgorgen, no angel, has survived from the twilight of the Second Age to the present—when neither a sorceress, nor a vampire, nor one of the "immortals"! Based on his clear intellect and the abilities he has demonstrated in battle, he appears to possess no extraordinary traits derived from other pathways.
