Chapter 324: Steal the Jade, Steal the Fragrance

返回章节列表
Reading on phone Chen Yue put on the sound-isolating earplugs she had specially bought. For several days now, she hadn’t gotten a good night’s rest—every evening, the downstairs was filled with the sounds of men and women arguing, often lasting until just after midnight. As a result, she had to keep retying her earplugs each night, especially since she didn’t have to go to work during the day, which meant she could only catch a few hours of sleep. The earplugs worked well—without paying close attention, the sounds were almost imperceptible. Just as she settled in to finally fall asleep, her mind began automatically replaying those sounds, once again making her restless. She sat up angrily, removed the earplugs and said, “If this keeps up, one day I’m going to break down!” She decided not to sleep at all and stayed up watching TV until just after one thirty a.m. After all, she still had to skip work tomorrow, so she could always wake up in the afternoon. The second-floor master bedroom—Shu, the police officer, was the first to share a bed with Qin, the young heir. After he had taken Mei Hui and Fang Fang, Shu rested for two hours before stepping back in. Mei Hui and Fang Fang were already asleep, and Qin continued his passionate pursuit on Shu’s body until he finally reached his climax. The two lay tightly entwined, savoring the lingering sensations of peak intimacy. "Jingjing, today you've been so strong—do you have something you'd like to tell me?" he asked, gently caressing her body. Shu gasped softly, "I'm going back to my hometown in the provincial capital next day to celebrate my mother's birthday. Would you like to come with me?" "Mother-in-law, birthday," Qin Feng paused, surprised. "Yes," Shu said carefully, "I haven't returned to the provincial capital for several months. This time, I really need to go. My mother is very sensitive and will surely notice the changes in me. So I'd like to have you come with me—so she won’t worry." "Qin Da was prompt and enthusiastic: "Great! I'll go with you. We leave on the day after tomorrow, right? That way, I can prepare a birthday gift for my mother-in-law tomorrow. By the way, will your less-than-distinguished uncle be there too?" She nodded. "Not just the uncle—he and his wife, as well as my cousin, will all be coming. You know how my father has been..." "Let's just forget about that. As if he'd never shown up at all," Qin Feng interrupted, cutting off the woman in his arms. "Indeed, nothing beats having a good husband." They embraced and fell asleep together. Qin Da smiled brightly and said, "A year's plan lies in spring, a day's plan lies in morning. How can we possibly do without breakfast? Are you really trying to lose weight, Yueyue? You're already quite slim—deliberately cutting weight might actually cause your upper body to shrink, which would be a real loss!" "Go on, roll out as far as you like—keep rolling, don't stop!" Qin Feng wasn't ready to give up yet. "Are you absolutely certain you won't get up? Then I'll feel at ease and enjoy morning intimacy with my wives. The restaurant and the sofa are both excellent spots for such moments. If you wake up and find traces of our activities, don't be surprised—wah-hah!" With that, he bounced off and ran off. Chen Yue was truly on the verge of collapse, and even more sadly realized she couldn't fall asleep at all. She lay back and forth, trying various self-hypnosis techniques—none of which worked. An hour later, she sat up angrily, "Honestly, I can't fall asleep anymore—wheeeew!" Below, the family had already departed. Mei Hui, Fang Fang, and Shu Ya Jing headed to work, while Qin, the young heir, went out to shop for gifts for his mother-in-law. After strolling around the city for a while, he found that the products in the specialty stores were rather conventional—suitable for ordinary wealthy clients, but not quite fitting for his future mother-in-law. So, he decided to take two carefully packaged pills of the nourishing tonic recently refined by Wei Wei. In actuality, the value of these pills surpassed that of gold or jade by far. Yes, that’s exactly what he’d do. A fine redwood block, shaped and polished under the craftsmanship of the dagger fire-destroyer, quickly transformed into an elegant jewelry box. Laid upon a golden silk fabric, the two nourishing pills were then placed inside. "Perfect," he smiled, admiring the beautifully crafted box. Upon returning home, he felt it was time to tease his beautiful teaching assistant a bit—there was a need to deepen their personal connection. With a smug smile, he moved silently up the stairs. As he reached the stairwell, the smile turned into a look of pure disbelief. Right facing the stairs, a notice was pinned to the wall: "From today on, Qin Feng and his dog are barred from entering the third floor. Violators will be severely reprimanded." Could it be Mei Hui’s idea? She’d done the same thing at Qin Group Headquarters—when she was the beautiful CEO. But then he thought again—Hui Hui was now such a polite, well-behaved young lady; how could she possibly help someone else undermine her own husband? He yanked the notice down and scoffed, "This is my home, isn't it? As a guest, not following the principle of 'guests follow the host' is already unreasonable—now to go so far as to establish a no-go zone? That's simply excessive!" He began vigorously knocking on the door. If it weren't his own door, he would have kicked it down. "Who is it?" came the voice of the lady from inside the room. "Me," Qin Feng replied, with a sniff. Chen Yue didn’t open the door for him; instead, she said, “Didn’t you see the note on the wall?” “The note? What note? I didn’t see any.” He began to act foolish and indifferent. The beautiful counselor sighed impatiently, “Stop acting all clueless! Don’t you find it rather unreasonable? I’m your guest, aren’t I? You have a responsibility—to create a comfortable living environment for your guests. Have you done that?” “Hmph, have you ever actually treated yourself like a guest?” Qin the young noble countered firmly. The counselor pulled open the door and said with a sniff, “What I think doesn’t matter. Whether I’m a guest or not is irrelevant. What matters is that you’re the host!” “Ah, finally admitting I’m the host! Well then, I’ll exercise my rights as a host.” He smiled slyly, stepped forward, and without hesitation wrapped his arms around Chen Yue’s waist, saying firmly, “Since I’m the host, I have the right to control everything here—including you!” “Qin Feng, what are you doing? Let go of me right away, or I’ll call it improper!” "Wow, no matter how loud you shout, nobody hears you. We've known each other so well, and we've basically done all the things we should have done—why do you need to be so formal and polite about it?"
