Chapter 755: Strange Beings

返回章节列表
The phone reading: The cabin door opened, and Qin Feng and the others stepped down from the plane. The captain's feet just touched the ground when he suddenly collapsed onto the sandy surface, murmuring, "It's a success! This is my first time landing a plane in an emergency, and it's on an island!" The co-pilot excitedly patted his shoulder, saying, "You've done it! It was incredibly thrilling—just a moment ago, I thought I was going to die. Your skills are truly outstanding. I'll definitely take you on as my next captain!" Qin Feng held Qingzi's slender waist, and the two walked steadily along the beach. Compared to the others' sense of relief after the ordeal, they remained calm and composed, knowing deep down that even if the plane had crashed, there would be no threat to their lives. Hara Ichiro stood by the seaside, breathing in the fresh air. "Feng," Qingzi softly asked, "how long are we going to stay here?" "Probably no more than one day." Qin Da looked out at the vast sea and said, "Before we were forced to land, the captain had already sent out a distress signal. If we're lucky, there might be a Chinese Coast Guard vessel nearby operated by a Chinese engineering team. We can board it via helicopter and return to China!" Qingzi asked, "What about the plane? Will it just be left here?" "Of course not. Don't worry—someone will come to repair it and transport it back to us," he smiled. Qingzi leaned against him, and by chance, she noticed a brightly feathered bird flying out from the shrubs ahead, and exclaimed, "What a beautiful bird! I've never seen one like this before!" Qin Feng felt particularly cheerful and said, "Would you like to go on an adventure? Since we've come this far, wouldn't it be a pity not to explore around?" "Yes, I'd love to," Qingzi replied, "though I'm not sure if there are any snakes here. I'm rather afraid of snakes." "There should be none." He pretended to look around thoughtfully and said, "I think there should be no snakes—maybe just some mice!" "Awful, I'm just as afraid of mice!" The two continued chatting and laughing as they walked deeper into the woods, while the captain and Genji stayed chatting on the beach. The co-pilot returned to the cockpit and tried to reestablish contact with the rescue team. Qingzi extended her snow-white right hand and pointed in a direction, saying, "Look between those two trees—there's still a hammock hanging there. Someone must have come by, and perhaps even had a picnic right here!" "Hammock," Qin Li was slightly surprised. As he looked around, he indeed spotted something resembling a hammock—white in color, slightly yellowed from age, and covered with thick layers of dust. "Let's go check it out," he said, taking Qingzi's small hand and walking toward it together. The hammock looked rather unusual—it didn't seem to be made of ordinary nylon, more like a plastic or resin product. When he touched it, it felt strong and resilient, showing no signs of wear from wind and sun exposure. Qin Feng's brows grew increasingly furrowed, as the hammock seemed less and less like a hammock. He couldn't find any knots at all—it looked more like a massive spider's web. "How strange," Qingzi remarked, "why isn't it tied to the trees? It seems to be stuck to them instead." "This isn't a hammock—it's a spider's web," he insisted with greater confidence. Qingze's eyes widened. "A spider's web? How could that be? How could there be such a large spider's web? What kind of giant spider would be able to weave something so big? And what kind of prey would it be catching?" Qin Feng couldn't quite explain it either. Throughout their journey, they had never seen any traces of large animals—this massive web was simply beyond comprehension. The only thing certain was that this web was absolutely not made by humans. Huff. A gust of chilly wind blew through, tightening his brows into a "川" shape. He spoke firmly, "Qingze, I sense danger here!" "Danger? Hah, you mean there's a giant spider lurking here, one that will leap out and devour us, is that it?" She smiled, not taking Qin Feng's words too seriously. "Truth be told, I have a bad feeling about this. If any real danger does arise, I'll be sending you to the small steamer." He said, his voice steady. Qingzi realized he was serious, so he immediately stopped smiling and nodded solemnly. Summoning his flying sword, he took Qingzi with him and ascended into the sky, viewing the island from above. As their altitude increased, both of them grew increasingly amazed. From above, the island appeared like a massive animal den, revealing its fierce and primal nature. Qin Feng had seen photos of this island numerous times online. Perhaps it was due to the different aerial perspective, or perhaps because he had seen it in person—either way, it felt significantly different from the photographs. "Feng, is it possible that…?" Qingzi said cautiously. "Very likely," he replied, their mutual understanding so strong that some things didn't need to be explicitly stated—his words were enough for her to grasp them. Qingzi's face paled. "I never thought such a situation could arise here. It's no wonder that neither country is willing to give way, yet neither supports the official-arranged island landings, nor encourages citizens to come by fishing boats. It seems there really is danger on the island!" He wandered around for a while, yet found nothing. Then he began having his flying sword cut through the spider webs—though several strikes failed to sever them. He switched to cutting down trees, and within moments, two trees had been felled. Since the spider webs were so strong, why not take them along as well? They’d serve well as sturdy ropes. Just as the two trees were being cut down, the ground suddenly began to tremble, and stones mixed with soil rolled outward in all directions. "Good heavens," he exclaimed, "there must be something hidden here after all."
