“What kind of terrorist attack?”
Dr. Zhao’s face was pale, and he seemed both stunned and incredulous.
Songhai, a major city with over twenty million people, integrates industry, finance, transportation, and shipping—holding a pivotal position across the nation. For decades past, even ordinary crimes have been rare; let alone attacks of this nature.
“Call for help! Call right now!”
Dr. Zhao frantically reached for his smartphone, trying to dial the police department. But no one answered.
“At this moment, every available person who can reach out has already done so—the dispatch center is overwhelmed and unable to take your call,” Jiang Yubi quietly closed the door, her voice low:
“We’ll stay here—we won’t wander around.”
Dr. Zhao’s eyes were wide with fear; his tone urgent: “We can’t just stay put! The hostage-takers have no humanity—they’ll kill the hostages. Xiao Jiang, we must escape through the back entrance!”
Jiang Yubi frowned and cut in sharply: “Stay here!”
Dr. Zhao paused, startled at the familiar colleague—a young woman with a round face and a sweet, gentle demeanor, always behaving like a model employee—who now radiated an air of authority that was both impressive and intimidating.
This kind of firmness had never been seen from her before.
Jiang Yubi’s tone softened as she continued:
“Listen—outside activity has quieted down. That means most people have already been taken into custody. Since the terrorists have seized the hospital, they must be guarding both entrances and monitoring every camera feed. Staying here is safest.”
Dr. Zhao nodded slowly.
In the control room, Li Xianzong stood at the console, arms folded, his left hand gripping a Walkie-Talkie, his right arm wielding a butterfly knife. The blue glow of the screen illuminated his sharp, stern eyes.
On the monitor, the lobby of the outpatient wing showed two armed personnel in control, guiding medical staff and nurses from the pharmacy, registration desks, and various offices toward the main lobby floor.
Anyone refusing to comply was shot dead—brutally efficient—and seemed entirely indifferent to moral considerations.
After several such incidents, the medical staff and patients lost all will to resist—they simply lowered their heads and sat down in submission.
For the Realm Walkers, using abilities to kill is far more effective and precise than gunfire; yet, for ordinary people, a firearm remains the most powerful tool of intimidation.
To gain control over large groups, violence alone isn’t enough—gunfire is essential.
“First-floor personnel have been cleared—all gathered in the main hall.”
“Second-floor personnel have been cleared—all gathered in the main hall.”
The voice came through the Walkie-Talkie from a colleague reporting progress.
Li Xianzong pressed the device, leaned close to his mouth and said: “Go check on the obstetrics department—seize the medical staff. If there are any pregnant patients, don’t harm them.”
“Hey! You’re just a little Enchantment Demon here playing nice?” one colleague scoffed.
“I’m not particularly sympathetic toward the weak,” Li Xianzong smiled, “but my father used to tell me over and over that children are like flowers of the nation—worth gentle care and kindness at times.”

At the Fu Family Village villa:
Fu Qingyang lay lazily on a massage chair, closed eyes, his skin unnaturally flushed, hands and limbs subtly trembling.
Two Rabbit Dancers sat on either side of the chair, gently tapping, kneading, massaging to ease his muscle discomfort.
On another single sofa, Ling Jun sat down, took a piece of melon into her mouth, and remarked:
“You’ve always been so passionate—remember when you started practicing your sword strikes at ten years old? You’ve trained continuously all the way through becoming a Realm Walker—that’s over fifteen years now. What level have you reached?”
Fu Qingyang remained closed-eyed: “Until I can cut off your dog-head with one stroke.”
“Nonsense!” Ling Jun objected. “I’m a true beast-king—having two lives—I’d need two sword strikes to fall!”
Suddenly, both Rabbit Dancers stiffened and then collapsed to the floor.
Fu Qingyang shot awake, his gaze sharp as a blade.
Ling Jun struggled to keep her eyes open, her body swaying slightly:
“Ah… I’m so tired… Oh no—this is the Master of Dreams…”
Her head tilted, and she slipped into sleep.
“Iruchu Mei?” Fu Qingyang said coldly, closed his eyes, and settled into sleep.
……
At the Kangyang District Police Department:
Zhang Yuanqing just stepped out of the restroom when a clerical staff member hurried up the steel stairs to the second floor.
Her face was anxious as she looked at Guan Ya, who sat lounging nearby, and called out:
“The police department has received an alarm—terrorists have attacked Pingta Hospital—the outpatient staff and patients are all inside.”
“What?” Guan Ya leaped up, rushed toward the Chief’s office.
Even Wang Tai, usually unbothered by outside events, raised his head in surprise, his expression now serious.
Pingta Hospital? Zhang Yuanqing felt as though someone had struck her with a blunt instrument—her mind buzzing with disorientation.
Her aunt works at Pingta Hospital.
Zhang Yuanqing’s face turned stern as she fumbled for her smartphone and quickly asked:
“How is the hospital situation? What about casualties? How many kidnappers?”
The clerical staff shook her head: “Not detailed yet—police are gathering teams to rush over, details need further investigation.”
At least this confirms it’s a fresh incident. Zhang Yuanqing walked over, pulled out her phone, and dialed her aunt.
“Sorry—the number you’re trying to reach has gone off the hook—please try again!”
Off the hook? Zhang Yuanqing cursed under her breath: “Hmph!”
At that moment, Guan Ya, together with Li Dongze, Jiang Jingwei, and Teng Yuan, rushed out of the office.
Li Dongze moved quickly, his expression composed and his speech fluent:
“Let’s move immediately!”
The group began to assemble—Guan Ya pulled two gun holsters from a drawer in her desk, tying them loosely around her thighs; Wang Tai picked up his beloved notebook and rose to go.
As they stepped out of the glass building and onto Li Dongze’s business sedan parked at the entrance, the driver pressed the accelerator, heading toward the police department headquarters.
The hospital isn’t far from the district office—by cutting through red lights, they arrived in just over ten minutes.
Outside the hospital gates, a line of flashing emergency vehicles had gathered.
A dozen uniformed officers stood facing off against an older male patient wearing hospital garb. The man held a Walkie-Talkie around his neck, used a surgical knife to press against his throat, and screamed in agitation:
“Don’t come near! Don’t come near—let Yuan Shi Tian Zun see me!”
The business sedan stopped at the curb; the doors opened, and Zhang Yuanqing immediately spotted her cousin leading the group.
He quietly put on a visor hat and mask.
Li Dongze held his walking cane, strode toward Chen Yuanyuan, and said firmly:
“What’s the current situation?”
Chen Yuanyuan clearly recognized Li Dongze—he scanned the business sedan behind him before speaking softly:
“The terrorists have taken over both patients and medical staff—casualties are not yet confirmed. They’re refusing to speak with us, and insist on being allowed inside—should we enter, they’ll detonate the bomb.”
He paused briefly, then added with a touch of uncertainty: “Their demand seems to be a direct conversation with Yuan Shi Tian Zun—I suspect their mental state may be unstable.”
Li Dongze nodded slightly, studied Chen Yuanyuan’s expression carefully, and said with concern:
“Captain Chen—calmness is essential for police officers. You’re clearly anxious. What’s going on?”
He could see the underlying restlessness beneath his composed demeanor.
Chen Yuanyuan smiled gently: “My sister-in-law works at Pingta Hospital…”
Li Dongze’s expression tightened—he patted Chen Yuanyuan’s shoulder, said nothing, and turned back to the business sedan.
“Jingwei!” he called out to the red-haired woman, pointing toward the patient:
“Fetch his Walkie-Talkie—be gentle; don’t harm him.”
Jiang Jingwei nodded eagerly—she stepped down from the car, using the police vehicles and officers for cover, moving in a quiet arc until she reached the patient’s side.
Then, with her knees slightly bent, she surged forward like a wild dog.
The officers saw only a silhouette move swiftly past them—and when they realized what had happened, the red-haired woman was already beside the patient.
She executed a swift kick—flying away the surgical knife clenched in his hands—then twisted sharply, her body spinning as one leg drove hard into his neck.
“Crack!”
The middle-aged man remained confused—he was stunned and then knocked unconscious.
Among the Five Elements Alliance’s Orderly Professions, the Fire Master ranks first in speed.
As officers surged to control the patient, Jiang Jingwei quickly grabbed the Walkie-Talkie and raced back toward the business sedan.
Li Dongze took the device, pressed a button, and said:
“I’m Chief Li from the Second Unit of Kangyang District—I’ll listen to whatever you have.”
He repeated it three times—then a bold laugh echoed through the speaker: “I want to speak with Yuan Shi Tian Zun.”
Just as Zhang Yuanqing opened her mouth, Guan Ya gently pressed down on her shoulder—Li Dongze seamlessly continued:
“Yuan Shi Tian Zun isn’t here. What do you expect from him?”
The strong-voiced male replied:
“He’s not here? Well, I guess my timing wasn’t ideal. Give me ten minutes—I’ll see Yuan Shi Tian Zun by then. If not, I’ll kill one person per minute.
“If you attempt to force entry into the hospital, I’ll have someone trigger the bomb and blow everyone away.”
Li Dongze looked at Guan Ya and mouthed: “Contact Fu Bai Fu Chang.”
Then he said with conviction: “You may try to detonate the bomb—we will not compromise officially. If you’re willing to sacrifice yourselves for the hospital staff, I’ll make it happen.”
A loud burst of laughter came through the Walkie-Talkie:
“Chief Li—you greatly overestimate me! I’ve never had the courage to be buried with these ordinary people—I merely asked that someone trigger the bomb. The officers are all my servants—the Master of Eyes and Judgment’s subordinates—already in a desperate situation. They’ve agreed instantly upon hearing that I intend to retaliate against both the official department and society—of course, there’s no shortage of my own Enchantment.”
The servants of the Master of Eyes and Judgment… Li Dongze felt his shoulders sag: “So—you’re an Enchantment Demon?”
“You should have heard of my name—I’m Li Xianzong.”
At this moment, every person in the business sedan shifted—every face changed.
They anticipated that Yuan Shi would be targeted by the Evil Organization’s Realm Walkers—but never expected to be targeted by Li Xianzong himself.
And this bloodthirsty Enchantment Demon had not only executed a surprise attack but orchestrated an outright terror campaign—showing extraordinary arrogance.
“Now, just over one and a half minutes have passed,” Li Dongze said softly. “You don’t have much time left—I’ll be waiting for your news.”
Silence followed.
Li Dongze placed the Walkie-Talkie down, turned to Guan Ya:
“Fu Qingyang isn’t answering his phone…”
Everyone in the group felt a new wave of concern.
Li Dongze stroked his cane thoughtfully:
“It seems the enemy has been prepared—within ten minutes of not seeing Yuan Shi Tian Zun, Li Xianzong will withdraw and ensure that no one survives inside. Hm—I just heard from you—they’re the servants of the Master of Eyes and Judgment. This attack is clearly designed to result in total destruction.”
With only ten minutes available, other district units won’t be able to reach them—time is too tight.
Teng Yuan said: “This man has real foresight—he’ll be able to retreat calmly even without Yuan Shi Tian Zun—and he’s already setting up a significant obstacle for us.”
Zhang Yuanqing said solemnly: “He’s specifically targeting me—he intends to hunt and kill me. Chief—let me enter.”
She was anxious, not knowing how her aunt is doing—whether she’s safe or injured.
Li Dongze gave her a sharp look: “If you go in now, you’ll be killed!”
“No way!” Guan Ya immediately disagreed. She frowned: “You’re not the kind of person who rushes into things like this…”
Only Jiang Jingwei supported her—her hands clutched tightly as she stood ready with a fierce expression: “Let’s charge in—we’ll smash his dog-head right off.”
At that moment, Li Dongze—experienced and composed—demonstrated the steady calm of an elder Realm Walker:
“Don’t panic. Solutions always emerge—let’s develop a strategy together…”
